  1. A black HZRDUS shaft with red lettering is a HZRDUS Red, not HZRDUS Black, shaft. If your “fitter” didn’t know or couldn’t tell you this, then you definitely need to go elsewhere for a real fitting.
  2. There are great suggestions above! One thing I would add (unless I missed it) is "loft is your friend." As a newer player, choose a driver with 10 or more degrees of loft to allow you to get the ball in the air more easily.
  3. I almost always walk using a push cart and ride when it is required or sensible based on the course and conditions.
  4. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? Been playing 30+ years and am a 14-15 handicap. I don't practice... What do you love about golf? Being outside and meeting new people. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I don't know any other Spies, but have found the product/equipment reviews to be helpful. Where are you from? What is your home course? Currently living in Atlanta, Georgia, but have moved nine times since my early 20s. Born and raised in St. Marys, Pennsylvania - it's not the end of the world, but you can see it from there. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best is year-round golf in moderate to steamy temperatures and the worst is the number of public courses that are closing and being replaced with housing. What do you do for a living? Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management Consulting How’d you pick your user name? My first name starts with T and most nicknames I have been given included the T.
  5. Pure Pro for me for the past ten years. Blow them on and off when switching clubs. They last years with the occasional soap and water cleanup. I love them!
  6. I always stock up on the buy three get four deals on new balls, but also buy mint Titleist balls on eBay from time to time. I always read the Seller’s feedback and description in great detail and usually only buy a dozen or so for days when I am not swinging as well and may burn through a few. And I NEVER buy refurbished balls or water balls.
  7. In addition to all the good advice above, hitting lots of balls off range mats can contribute to this. Additionally, you want pressure on the injured area all the time - not just when playing golf. I purchased an AirCast Pneumatic Armband and used it 24x7 with great success. Good luck.
  8. I have swapped my driver, added a 2 hybrid in place of a 3 hyrbid, and added two new ZipCore wedges.
  9. I used a Bushnell iON 2 GPS watch and really liked it. I recently switched to an Apple watch when I added Arccos sensors to my clubs.
  10. These look like great carts. I generally walk using a pushcart as I quickly learned that my shoulders won't take carrying my bag for 18 holes. I enjoy the workout as the course I normally play is quite hilly, but also recognize I may be reducing my scoring potential by expending energy into moving the cart versus my shots. It's a potential tradeoff that I am OK with... for now.
