  1. My gamer driver has been a Cobra Fly-z for a couple of years, tried couple others but nothing was as forgiving and easy to hit the fairway with.... Decided to try a Cobra Extreme 9* set at +1. Three rounds with it and never hit as many fairways. Should have named it 'fairway finder'. I play the same course all the time and know my yardages.... probably 10 yards longer than my Fly-z. I have a TENSEI™ AV Blue 55 with SFW regular shaft that more center strikes than any shaft i have played over the years. I also had this shat in my fly-z and was getting the same center strikes in that head. I'm a senior golfer with a 88 - 92 mph ss. I can hit a draw with it but the ball really wants to go straight. If you are looking for a really forgiving driver, give the Extreme a shot, can be had for great prices now. I will be selling a TENSEI™ AV Blue 55 with SFW stiff shaft that I gave a try but the regular suits my SS. Will post next couple of days if anyone is interested.
  2. I have had the cobra King 3 utility for about 7 months now and let me say this thing is an absolute weapon. However, the shaft durability leaves alot to be desired. I have a high swing speed (125-130 with driver) and this shaft has splintered/broke right above the adapter(pic attached) three times in 7 months. Cobra has been great about replacing but the constant worry of the shaft breaking and having to deal with waiting for a new one to come in has been painful. That being said when the shaft isnt broken the club hits missiles, its easy for me to flight it down and hit a stinger off the tee (go to shot with it) or hit a higher flighted shot when necessary. The club itself is forgiving enough and gives you confidence standing over the top of it with a slightly thicker top edge. I also find it easy enough to shape the ball with a draw or fade when need be. The loft adjustability is a bonus as well, I have the 19.5 degree 3 cranked down to 18.5, with the ability to go up and down 1.5 degrees this club can be adjusted based on how youll use it on different courses. If you're in the market for a UDI this is definitely one to take a look at, but would recommend going a different shaft route than the stock catalyst, especially if you have a high swing speed
  3. The MGS Home Page has a great first look by Dave Wolfe at the two new lines of the Cobra Putter release, but here are a bunch of stock images that the blog piece may not have room for. Just consider it a gratuitous photo dump. Any questions on specs of any particular models, I'd be happy to answer or I'm sure all the info will be on Cobragolf.com as well. As mentioned in the article, the 3D Putters use the technology to create some great weight savings and include the SIK face technology. The Vantage line also uses the SIK technology in a more conventional design. 6. One of the more popular iron categories of recent years. One company did very well in this, not surprisingly! https://mygolfspy.com/2021-most-wanted-players-distance-iron/
  7. Up for sale is a set of Wishon EQ1-NX single length irons. The set includes 5 iron through GW for a total of 7 clubs. All irons are built to a 37" playing length with the same length of shaft, headweights, lie angle, etc unlike the Cobra's. All clubs are standard loft and standard lie angle. Swing weight is D2. All irons are shafted with premium True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 (stiff) steel shafts and have Sensicore type inserts for vibration dampening and shock absorption. Grips are standard size Golf Pride Tour Velvet ribbed grips. The irons are in excellent condition and have only been hit at the driving range and only played outside on a course for 3 rounds. These are premium quality clubs designed by the best club designer in the business, Tom Wishon! These are by far the best single length clubs that you can buy as they gap perfectly. The irons are difficult to source and even more difficult to find second hand. Online each club retails for about $140/each when built. SOLD More Info: Wishon’s new single length iron design concept EQ1-NX offers same length and high COR low loft iron characteristics while adding many new performance enhancing features to mark a definite step forward in game improvement iron design. Features: Enabled by the new 2-piece hollow body design, the Center of Gravity moves progressively through the set from lowest and most rear located on the #5 iron to highest and most forward located on the GW and SW to achieve more consistent shot shape and shot height for each iron in the set The hollow body design throughout the set increases the MOI of each head by removing all mass from the inside of the head to be distributed all around the CG. The hollow body construction also enables the CG progression and uniform impact sound between the high COR and conventional COR heads in the set Low number irons are better matched with their loft to CG position to achieve preferred shot shape/height and allow a wider range of players to be able to effectively hit the #5 and 6 irons to fly and carry with proper distance gaps Traditional GW and SW profile shapes are combined with milled faces and a custom sole grind make the wedges a great choice even if they were standalone wedges and not part of the single length design
  8. Cobra just released a new "snakebite" wedge groove design: Synopsis - The new King Cobra wedges feature a new groove design (“Snakebite”) that pushes the USGA’s limitations on geometry, volume and sharpness thanks to more aggressive manufacturing tolerance. The new grooves, which extend all the way across the face on the higher lofts, feature edges that are 40 percent less rounded than on past models, an effort to grab the ball’s cover on short shots for more spin. The grooves also are deeper to help channel grass and moisture more effectively for more direct contact between ball and groove edge. Link
  9. COBRA® GOLF UNVEILS THE COPPER SERIES PLAYERS IRONS TO SATISFY THE MOST DEMANDING SHOTMAKERS KING RF Forged MB, KING Tour, and KING Forged TEC Irons Will be Available In a Striking Copper Finish Carlsbad, Calif. (March 3, 2021) – COBRA® Golf, a leader in golf club innovation, today unveiled its KING Copper Iron Series, introducing a stunning new copper finish, inspired by Rickie Fowler, in its popular player’s irons. The family debuts a new addition to its player’s iron lineup with the KING RF Forged MB, and a new copper finish in the KING Tour, and the KING Forged TEC irons. The new copper versions offer the same performance technologies as the chrome models in a premium copper finish that is sure to turn heads on the course. The KING RF FORGED MB COPPER IRONS ($1,399) are an evolution of the limited-edition RF Proto Irons introduced earlier this year. The irons continue to feature a special “RF,” logo on the toe to indicate Rickie’s involvement in the shaping, design and choice of finish. Each clubhead in the set is forged five times out of 1025 carbon steel to deliver the softest feel desired by the best players. Each face and groove is CNC milled to maximize trajectory and spin control. Like Rickie’s gamers, the irons are fitted with a tungsten toe weight to optimally position the CG behind the sweet spot for the purest feel with enhanced stability. The rich copper finish paired with Rickie’s signature shape delivers an impressive package designed for highly skilled players. The KING RF Forged MB irons are available in 4-PW in copper, RH only, with KBS C-Taper 120 steel shafts, and Lamkin Crossline Connect grips. For shot makers who want the ultimate in feel, precision and forgiveness in a player’s cavity back shape, the KING TOUR COPPER IRONS ($1,399) are the ticket. Manufactured using Metal Injection Molding (MIM) for precise shaping and exceptionally soft feel, each clubhead is also fitted with a Tungsten toe weight to center the CG behind the hitting zone for pure shots with added stability on off-center hits. The soft MIM material, combined with a TPU insert (thermoplastic polyurethane) positioned behind the clubface, damps vibrations for a soft yet solid feel at impact that rivals traditional forged irons, even though they are actually MIM’d. The rich new copper finish sets these sticks apart from a visual standpoint. The KING TOUR Copper Irons are available in 4-PW in RH & LH (3-iron and GW available through custom) with KBS $-Taper 120 steel shafts and Lamkin Crossline Connect grips. For those who prefer the classic chrome finish, the irons are still available in both RH and now LH as well. Better players who put a premium on distance while still desiring the precision and feel of a compact iron shape, should look at the new KING FORGED TEC COPPER IRONS ($1,199). The design combines a fully hollow construction into a shape that resembles a classic muscleback that appeals to better players. The hollow core is infused with foam microspheres to yield a soft feel and fine-tuned acoustics throughout the set. To add to the distance-enhancing technologies, a forged PWRSHELL face insert maximizes launch and speed across the face and on the sole. An internal tungsten toe weight improves stability on off-center toe hits and centers the CG resulting in precision with forgiveness. The KING Forged TEC Copper Irons are available in variable length only, 4-PW (3-iron and GW available through custom order) in RH and LH with the stock shaft offering as the KBS $-Taper Lite steel. For a graphite offering, the Project X Catalyst 80 (X, S), and 60 (R) is the recommended option available in custom. Lamkin Crossline Connect grips come standard. The chrome versions of the Forged TEC irons are still available in both Variable and ONE Length in RH and LH. All three sets of irons come equipped COBRA CONNECT Smart Grips giving players access to in-depth shot-tracking data. Download the Arccos Caddie app on your smart device to pair your clubs and unlock your 90-day free trial to Arccos Caddie. All three sets of copper irons will be available at cobragolf.com and at retail on March 12, 2021.

  11. COBRA GOLF LAUNCHES LIMITED EDITION RICKIE FOWLER PROTO IRONS Carlsbad, Calif. (January 25, 2021) – COBRA® Golf, a leader in golf club innovation, unveiled today its highly anticipated, limited-edition COBRA RF Proto Irons, a design collaboration with longtime COBRA ambassador and five-time PGA TOUR winner, Rickie Fowler. The RF Proto Irons are a replica of the head design that Fowler plays to provide golfers with an opportunity to experience what it feels like to play the same tour-caliber irons trusted weekly by one of game’s most popular players. The design is the result of multiple shape and spec revisions that evolved over the span of 12 months to get the perfect iron. The process involved COBRA engineers and longtime Director of Tour Operations, Ben Schomin, working with Fowler every step of the way, applying his design direction, turf-interaction feedback and aesthetic preferences to the overall design, which underwent 32 iterations before arriving at the final version, hence the Rev33 stamp. Interestingly, the entire set is designed around a 7-iron appearance, Fowler’s favorite iron shape. Atypical of most iron sets, which feature progressively rounded edges as you transition from the long irons to short irons, each RF Proto iron (4-PW) is designed with distinct sharp edges on the toe and topline area to suit Fowler’s eyes. They also deliver zero visible offset by ensuring that the hosel was developed with no taper. Perhaps the most striking feature of these irons is their distinctive, head-turning copper finish that was hand selected by Fowler after considering dozens of finishes. “We have been working with Rickie on these irons for quite some time, and we feel they represent a fitting tribute to our decade long partnership,” said Schomin. “We worked closely with Rickie to determine his favorite features of several of his previous sets that we were able to combine into one very sleek package. These are a must-own for better players who appreciate the finest of iron craftmanship or Rickie fans who would jump at the opportunity to own the same sticks their favorite player uses.” Like any Tour Player, Fowler demands perfection when it comes to shaping. With the RF Proto irons, COBRA delivers the ultimate precision iron, fit for a Tour player or better golfers. Each iron is forged two times from a soft 1025 carbon steel and is then machined using a 100% CNC milling process. The entire milling process takes a total of 155 minutes per iron and produces the most precise shape and specs without any inconsistencies. Like Fowler’s gamers, this CNC milling process is used to deliver the most exact specifications and shape that Fowler designed. To aid in pure shot making and offer some added stability, the RF Proto Irons, like his gamers, utilize a tungsten weight that is positioned out on the toe to better center the CG, per Fowler’s request. The result is an iron that delivers superior feel and precision throughout the set. For the collectors, the limited-edition RF Proto Irons are shipped in a high-end, custom box, which celebrates the partnership between Fowler and COBRA, complete with a card of authenticity, stamped by R&D and autographed by Rickie Fowler, for an unboxing experience like never before. The standard offering features KBS C-Taper shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet ALIGN grips equipped with COBRA CONNECT. A full selection of custom shafts and grips are also available. The standard set features 4-PW and retails for $2,499. Available in RH only. Beginning today they are available for pre-order through cobragolf.com and will begin shipping and be available at retail on Friday, January 29, 2021. For more information on the RF Proto Irons and all of COBRA’s products, visit www.cobragolf.com.

  21. COBRA GOLF’S NEW KING FORGED TEC IRONS OFFER BETTER PLAYERS A POWERFUL COMBINATION OF ACCURACY, FEEL, DISTANCE AND FORGIVENESS IN AN EYE-CATCHING DESIGN The KING Forged TEC Irons Combine Classic Shaping with Distance & Forgiveness In Variable and ONE Length Designs COBRA Golf today introduced its next generation of KING Forged TEC Irons, featuring a traditional muscle-back shape with a hollow design for softer feel and improved power preferred by better players, available in a variable or ONE Length set make-up. Fusing a classic look with modern, cutting-edge face, finish and feel technologies, the KING Forged TEC irons provide golfers with the ideal balance of precision and distance. A sleek, muscle-back shape and sophisticated design of the Forged TEC Irons encloses an unassuming hollow body that delivers low CG and helps maximize distance, forgiveness and playability. A hollow cavity is infused with energizing foam microspheres that fine-tune acoustics and create the softer feel that better players desire while supporting a thin PWRSHELL Face for increased ball speeds. An updated forged face insert creates a larger Sweet Zone and return area for higher launch and faster ball speeds in a players iron. A tungsten toe weight centers the CG behind the hitting zone to maximize distance and increase precision for attacking pins, even on off-center hits. Like a majority of COBRA equipment, the Forged TEC irons will feature the innovative COBRA CONNECT™ Powered by Arccos allowing users to track their accuracy and distance using the Arccos Caddie app on a smart device. Electronically embedded sensors in the grip automatically record the distance and accuracy of every shot so golfers can track their improvements round-to-round. The KING Forged TEC ONE Length irons offer an added dimension of consistency, as COBRA engineers have manipulated the design of each iron to match the weight and length of a 7-iron, allowing for one simple, repetitive set up and swing motion to reduce variability and increase consistency between clubs. This is primarily achieved through matching 7-iron head and swing weights in every iron to create a consistent feel throughout the set. Weight is added to the ONE Length long irons to compensate for shorter (37.50”) shafts and to match 7-iron swing weight, while weight is removed from the short irons & wedges to compensate for longer shafts while still delivering traditional 7-iron swing weight. In addition, lie angles have been adjusted to optimize ball flight in a ONE Length set configuration. Long irons utilize more upright lie angles, while the short irons and wedges have slightly flatter lie angles delivering more consistent trajectory and ball flights. Lighter long iron shafts encourage easy launch while heavier wedge shafts promote more control into and around the green. The Forged Tec ONE Length irons are available through stock in an 7-piece (4-PW) set in stiff and regular, in both right and left-handed versions (graphite is available through custom in x-stiff, stiff and regular). The steel version come equipped with a KBS $-Taper Lite (115- stiff, 110 – reg, 120 – wedge) shaft with Lamkin Crossline COBRA CONNECT grips in a blue colorway. The Forged Tec variable length irons (MAP: $1,099 steel; $1,199 graphite) are available through stock in an 8-piece (4-GW) set in both right and left-hand versions. The steel KBS $-Taper Lite shaft is offered in both regular (R110) and stiff (S115) flexes. Graphite offerings in Project X Catalyst 80 in regular, stiff and x-stiff flexes are available through custom only. Each set comes stock with Lamkin Crossline COBRA CONNECT grips in black. The Forged Tec irons in variable and ONE Length will be available at retail and at cobragolf.com beginning November 1, 2019.
