  1. Testers Wanted (5) There’s something about RAW wedges that elicits a mixed bag of reactions from golfers. Some swear it gives them more spin—that’s a topic for another day—some say they prefer the look of shiny chrome, tour satin or jet-black finish. Remember the days of one choice? At one time the options were so few, many took to the home version of RAW by soaking wedges in Coke and other methods to get them to rust. The last few years have seen many OEM’s offer a RAW version of their wedges. With Cleveland Golf having successfully launched the new RTX Zip Core wedges in the summer, it now is offering the wedge in the popular RAW or it is officially called Tour Rack finish. So, we’re going to let you tell us if raw is better. Testers Wanted We are looking for FIVE dedicated golfers who will receive two wedges in the loft they choose to provide an in depth 4 to 6-week commitment to testing the Tour Rack Zip Core wedges. Testing is open to Right Hand golfers who reside in the US. To Apply please provide the following information: First Name/City State Handicap Current Model Wedges Played What Appeals to You About a Raw Wedge We'll be choosing the testers next week, so check back to see if you have been selected. DO NOT QUOTE THIS POST WHEN APPLYING, APPLY IN A SEPERATE POST IN THIS THREAD
  2. CLEVELAND GOLF ANNOUNCES THE CLEVELAND CBX FULL-FACE AND SMART SOLE 4 WEDGES HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Jan. 21, 2020 – Cleveland Golf is proud to announce the release of two new wedge offerings: the Cleveland CBX Full-Face and the Smart Sole 4. Built with grooves across the entire face, the Cleveland CBX Full-Face delivers a larger face area and more versatility to make difficult greenside shots easier, while the Smart Sole 4 makes the short game easier. Cleveland’s Smart Sole 4 will launch in North America on Feb. 7, 2020, while the Cleveland CBX Full-Face will launch in North America on Feb. 28, 2020. CLEVELAND CBX FULL-FACE The Cleveland CBX Full-Face is a new wedge model that focuses on offering maximum short game versatility with added forgiveness for all those delicate shots around the green. “Our new Cleveland CBX Full-Face is a perfect way to complete our wedge lineup,” said Brian Schielke, Marketing Director at Cleveland Golf. “It helps golfers execute the most demanding shots they’ll encounter thanks to a larger striking surface with extended grooves running across the face. It does this while maintaining great feel and the signature forgiveness golfers have come to expect in every Cleveland CBX wedge.” Cleveland CBX Full-Face provides a high toe profile that is perfect for sliding under the golf ball on the most aggressive short game shot. The Cleveland CBX Full-Face delivers a unique half-cavity design with a cavity near the heel and solid muscle back on the toe, which pushes the center of gravity away from the heel and closer in line with strike patterns for improved consistency and feel. Additionally, the Cleveland CBX Full-Face takes Rotex Face Milling to the next level by extending across the entire face of the wedge for more spin and unmatched stopping power. Cleveland CBX Full-Face features a C-Shaped sole grind, which provides extra relief on the heel and toe for ultimate short game versatility. Here is a breakdown of the key innovations inside the Cleveland CBX Full-Face: High Toe Profile: Hit more extreme open face shots with an extended toe portion, perfect for sliding under the golf ball and striking it on the toe. Rotex Full Face: Rotex Milling, Laser Milling, and Tour Zip Grooves cover every millimeter of the hitting surface, ensuring maximum versatility with maximum spin. Half-Cavity Design: A cavity near the heel, a solid muscle back on the toe. We’ve moved the sweet spot right where you’re most likely to hit the ball, improving feel and pushing forgiveness levels off the charts. Low C-Shaped Sole: Optimized for open face shots, Full-Face offers our lowest Cleveland CBX grind to date. It’s also C-Shaped for relief on the heel and toe, allowing for unhindered face manipulation. Cleveland’s CBX Full-Face wedges are offered in 4 loft options (56°, 58°, 60°, and 64°) and are priced at $149.99 MAP. SMART SOLE 4 WEDGES The Smart Sole 4 from Cleveland Golf delivers a simpler short game system with a wedge designed for every shot. Here is a breakdown of the three different Smart Sole 4 wedges: the C model engineered for foolproof chip shots, an S model for easier sand saves, and a new G model for additional forgiveness on approach shots into the green. Smart Sole 4 features an extra wide sole across all three models with extra leading edge bounce to ensure crisp, clean contact and better stability. Upgraded Feel Balancing Technology adjusts the center of gravity closer to sweet spot for better feel, while new premium milled grooves channel moisture and debris away from the impact zone for improved spin performance from any conditions. Below are the key innovations inside the Smart Sole 4 Wedges: Enhanced Three-Tiered Sole: An extra wide three-tiered sole, with added leading edge bounce, provides maximum forgiveness from the fairway, rough or out of the bunker. Improved Feel Balancing Technology: The redistribution of weight from the hosel allows the center of gravity to be moved closer to the center of the clubface for better feel and more consistency. Aggressive Milled Grooves: New aggressive milled grooves generate better spin performance from any conditions. New Gap Wedge: The addition of the “G” model provides full-shot capability and extensive versatility to go along with the “S” and “C” models. Cleveland’s Smart Sole 4 wedges are offered in three different models. The C model (42°), G model (50°), and S model (58°) come in right and left-handed options as well as Men’s and Women’s offerings. Smart Sole 4 wedges are priced at $119.99 MAP for Men’s Steel and $129.99 for Men’s Graphite, while the Women’s Smart Sole 4 wedges are priced at $119.99 MAP for graphite.

  8. Fresh off their solid performance in MGS's 2017 Most Wanted Putter testing, Cleveland is adding to its impressive Huntington Beach Collection. These new models will be in stores April 14th, and remain an amazing value at $99.00 each.... CLEVELAND GOLF INTRODUCES THREE NEW HUNTINGTON BEACH COLLECTION PUTTER MODELS HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – April 4, 2017 – CLEVELAND GOLF®, focused on Where Scoring Matters™ and a global leader in wedge innovation since 1979, is proud to introduce three new Huntington Beach Collection putter models: the 3, the 6C and the 10. The new models officially launch on Friday, April 14, 2017. The Cleveland Golf Huntington Beach Collection is a line of milled putters with technology designed to deliver more consistent putting performance. Inspired by the beautiful setting of Cleveland Golf's North America headquarters, these putters feature the classic designs that have been revered for generations with modern innovations that can help any golfer improve their scoring. Golfers around the world have discovered the incredible performance and value of the Huntington Beach Collection. The 1, 4 and 6 models, which launched in September 2016, have garnered impressive accolades from many major golf media outlets. Golf Digest awarded a 2017 Hot List Gold Medal and 5 stars for “Performance”, right in line with a review from one particular Hot List tester: “Whatever they're charging, they should charge more. It's that good.” MyGolfSpy's “Most Wanted” putter testing also showed very positive results, with the 4 model earning “Best Value” in the Blade Putter category. The new Cleveland Golf Huntington Beach Collection 3, 6C and 10 putter models feature tour-proven shapes and are made from soft 304 stainless steel, which promotes a softer feel at impact. The Precision Milled Face has a coarse, diamond-shaped pattern that is four times deeper than the previous generation, according to Cleveland Golf testing. 12. TESTERS ANNOUNCED! Cleveland's New RTX-3 Wedges While it's true that you drive for the show and you putt for the dough, few can argue that it's those 125-yard and in shots that can determine just how much dough you're putting for. Want to sink more putts? Hit it closer to the hole. And Cleveland says its new RTX-3 wedges can help you do just that. Testers Wanted The Cleveland RTX-3 wedge series hits the stores next Friday. MyGolfSpy is looking for 5 wedge-savvy short game savants to test these new babies out and find out if the RTX-3's are worthy members of the Cleveland family tree of wedges. 14. Some finish in Phoenix, eh? Here's what Matuyama had in his bag... MATSUYAMA WINS IN PLAYOFF AT THE PHOENIX OPEN HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – February 8, 2016 – Srixon® and Cleveland® Golf congratulate staffer Hideki Matsuyama for his victory at the 2016 Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, in Scottsdale, Az. Matsuyama had to overcome a late two-stroke deficit in regulation play, finishing with back to back birdies to force a playoff on Sunday. Matsuyama carded a four-under 67 to finish regulation play tied at 14-under 270. Matsuyama ultimately clinched the win by tapping in for par on the fourth hole of a marathon sudden-death playoff. “It was a blast playing in front of all these people,” said Matsuyama through an interpreter. “It was a dream come true. Maybe from the outside I looked calm, but I was nervous inside. I played well all day long and so it just carried over into the playoff holes. I'm really happy that I won.” This Phoenix Open victory represents Matsuyama's second win on the U.S. PGA Tour, making him only the second Japanese player to earn multiple wins on the U.S. PGA Tour. Matsuyama, who finished tied for second at last year's Phoenix Open, earned his previous win at the 2014 Memorial Tournament. Matsuyama, who has also won six times on the Japan Tour, is now projected to rise to 12th in the world rankings. Matsuyama played with Srixon's new 4th generation Z STAR® XV ball with SpinSkin® Technology, a Srixon ZR-30 driver (9.5°), Srixon Z-945 irons (#4-PW), and Cleveland Golf 588® RTX® 2.0 wedges (50°, 56°, 60°). 15. Cleveland Golf 588 RTX 2.0 Cleveland Golf released images of their new 588 Rotex 2.0 today. Here are some of the details received from Cleveland Golf: Big Picture With Rotex 2.0, we set out to give golfers more control and increased versatility with their wedges, which ultimately leads to lower scores. We added control by improving the Rotex Face for more consistent spin from all conditions. We also created 3 new versatile sole grinds to provide the best turf interaction for a variety of player types. Lastly, we'll be providing more wedge fitting options than any other company to insure the golfers can select the proper wedges for their games. Rotex 2.0 Face Maintains maximum spin from the fairway while increasing spin from the rough by ~15%. Grooves: Steeper groove walls produce sharper radii. We made the walls steeper to increase groove volume, and we made the grooves sharper to increase spin on wet shots. Milling Pattern: A new 2-pass Micro Milling increases milling depth by 30% and width by 14%. The passes are timed so the pattern peaks between each pair of grooves. Laser Milling: Laser pattern improves roughness consistency so we can get closer to the USGA regulations. 3 New Sole Grinds Each new sole grind is designed to improve contact and performance for various playing styles. These are offered in both the blade and cavity back wedges 1 Dot Heel, Toe, and Trailing Edge Grinds Lowest Effective Bounce The 1 Dot grind keeps the leading edge close to the ground so players can hit aggressive lob shots. However, it still provides ample bounce and turf interaction on square-faced full shots. 2 Dot Trailing Edge Grind, plus moderate Heel and Toe Relief Mid Effective Bounce The 2 Dot grind is designed for all-around playability and versatility. It allows the golfer to execute a wide range of shots around the green from most playing conditions. 3 Dot Full Sole Highest Effective Bounce The 3 Dot grind is designed for those who like using the entire sole to their advantage around the greens. The full shape gives stability on square and open face shots alike. Popular sole shape on tour. The most extensive wedge lineup in golf provides the perfect wedge for every player's style. 120 unique model, loft, sole grind, and finish options. Blade and Cavity Back Blade - Designed purely based on tour testing and feedback. Compact top down shape, 3 different sole grinds and 2 finishes – Black Satin and Tour Satin These new finishes highlight the workmanship that goes into the wedges by showing the detail and brush strokes. Cavity Back - Slightly larger shape than the blade provides increased confidence at address. Sole grinds have similar shapes to the blade version, but different dimensions to provide more forgiveness through the turf for the cavity back player. Available in the Black Satin finish. Loft / Grind / Finish Options 1 Dot available 54 – 60 degrees 2 Dot available 46 – 64 degrees 3 Dot available 54 – 60 degrees All options available in Blade and Cavity Back, Right Hand and Left Hand Blade available in Black Satin and Tour Satin finishes Cavity Back available in Black Satin Shafts Standard Steel: Dynamic Gold Standard Graphite: Rotex Wedge Flex (New wedge shaft designed for improved performance and feel for those using graphite iron shafts 90 grams) Fitting Interchangeable wedge heads and shafts will be available at 1,500+ locations throughout the world.
