  1. TIGHTS STEP UP TO THE TEE Scott Pinckney Performance tights have become a regular fixture on runners and in the gym, and on gridiron sidelines and basketball court. Now new Nike Golf Hyperwarm tights tackle the course, providing a locked-in feel and disruptive new aesthetic. “Tights are good for recovery,” Brooks Koepka explains. “We train so hard on and off the golf course that I think it would help us stay on the Tour for a little longer by keeping our bodies fresh for years down the road.” Designed to enhance movement with a compression feel, regulate body temperature and provide an extra layer of warmth, the Nike tights are made with a high-stretch Dri-FIT fabric that helps keep athletes dry. And as Scott Pickney adds, they also tap into the psychological aspect of the sport. "I absolutely love wearing the tights when I practice and workout,” Nike Golf athlete Scott Pinckney explains. “I feel more athletic and my legs always feel better after I practice when I wear them.” The Nike Golf Spring/Summer 16 line disrupts the status quo with bold new polo designs, advanced legwear and radical footwear that takes tailored performance to a new place, for the modern golf athlete. --------------- Well tights just about says it all. 2. NIKE FLYKNIT TAKES TO THE COURSE A street-style staple, the Nike Flyknit Chukka was originally created in 2013, as part of the HTM line — an ongoing collaboration between NIKE, Inc. CEO and designer Mark Parker, Nike design legend Tinker Hatfield and style ambassador Hiroshi Fujiwara. A year later, the shoe cemented its sporting legacy on the medal stands of Sochi. Its appearance in golf, a first for Flyknit, brings a fresh aesthetic to the fairway and a sustainable twist to the sport. A revolutionary manufacturing method, Flyknit enables designers to micro-engineer every stitch of the Chukka to create a featherweight, formfitting one-piece upper while simultaneously reducing manufacturing waste and materials. The upper is further enhanced by Nike Flywire technology for support and lockdown. Nike Flyknit upper technology for a supportive, lightweight fit Nike Free-inspired outsole for natural flexibility Integrated Flywire cables for lockdown and support Next, to bring the silhouette inline with golf needs, a golf-specific Nike Free-inspired sole unit, with superior traction elements in the toe and heel, is added. And the upper is also skinned with a thin TPU layer for water resistance against light rain and morning dew. The Flyknit Chukka has been worn on the course by Patrick Rodgers, Jamie Lovemark and Kevin Tway. It is available to the public in two colorways for men (black/white and racer blue/white) and women (black/white and pink pow/white) at nike.com and select retailers. The Nike Golf Spring/Summer 16 line disrupts the status quo with bold new polo designs, advanced legwear and radical footwear that takes tailored performance to a new place, for the modern golf athlete. ----------------------- Looks like companies are try to make high-tops all the rage this season. First it was Puma and now Nike with the FlyKnit Chukka. Personally, I'm not sure if I'd wear em or not. Have see them on I guess. What do you think of the Nike Golf FlyKnit Chukka and would could yourself wearing them? At least giving them a try?
  3. Drones? Sweet! Oh, wait. Not that kind of drone. But you can still have some fun with this one.
  4. NIKE RZN TOUR 2016 Recently received the Nike RZN Protos, which I'm told are the Platinum. Weathers been crappy lately, but finally got a chance this weekend to do some comparisons around the greens. Luckily I have 5 of the older models to compare. Initial reaction is they are softer, closer to the old One Tour's. Last few models are definitely clickier than these. Roll off the putter and wedge feel is quite nice. Will report back as I get out more.
  5. It's been bugging me for weeks, but I finally figured it out... This driver.... Will be the official National Driver of Sweden... Sorry, it's the best I could come up with... Can anyone top that???
  6. This wouldn't happen if you had the right shoes on. (Hopefully you'll see what we mean).
  7. Get you a combo set.
  8. 2015 MyGolfSpy Fall/Winter Look-Book In the vast sea of golf apparel there seems to be two primary seasons in which new designs are released: Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter. Since I started covering golf apparel for MyGolfSpy, I have struggled with how to present the brands and the latest pieces in their respective lines. Inconsistent with the spirit of MyGolfSpy, there is nothing empirical to study when it comes to clothes. There are no statistics to make sense out of nor is there a ranking structure. Readers fine little merit or interest in the traditional ‘review” when learning about the latest threads. There is, however, recurring feedback I hear from our readers. They want to see clothes and more specifically, complete outfits, presented on a human being. Unlike virtually everything else in golf, apparel is more about looks than it is about function. I know, I know, I get the tech fabric, fit, function, waterproofing, etc… But at the end of the day shopping, if it doesn't look good or fit well first and foremost, it's not going in the cart. For the 2015 MyGolfSpy Fall Apparel Preview, I decided to give our readers what they asked for and wanted. Selections from 6 brands presented in complete outfits, on a person. A golf apparel “look-book” if you will. Thankfully, I was able to use the best looking man I've ever met as a model. So here you have it. I talk briefly about the brands, tell you the price, and let you see how the duds look, right out on the dance floor. The size breakdown: Shirt/Outwear Top: Large Pants 34” Height: 5'11” Weight: 185 Chest: 44” Handsome: Yes ALIAL FITAL www.alialfital.com Alial Fital is a boutique golf apparel brand celebrating it's 5th year in business this year. Their specialty is throwing a dress shirt collar on a golf shirt. The concept is simple but the look is brilliant. Alial Fital produces their selections in lots of 100. Once that style is sold out, it's gone forever. Each piece is a limited edition. New for Fall 2015 is their Performance Pants which are incredibly water repellant and confortable. In my opinion, one of the classiest looks in golf today. Prince of Mustang Polo $89 – Super Navy Performance Pants $135 BUNKER MENTALITY www.bunker-mentality.com Bunker Mentality is a brand out of the United Kingdom that took all of the tradition out of golf apparel. Their unique look is always flashy and slim fitting. Just as you would expect from an apparel brand across the pond. Bunker Mentality is a fun addition to an Americanized wardrobe. Hit it Hard Polo $65 - Nino Tech Pant $105 – Playa Crest Jacket $115 CMax Camo Golfadelic Polo $90 - Nino Tech Pant $105 GALVIN GREEN www.galvingreen.com Galvin Green is an undisputed king of golf outerwear. The Swedish apparel brand is about as respected as they come in golf apparel. Their shirts and pants follow the lead and dominate in feel, fit, and function. You know their jackets, now give the other selections in their line a close look. Ventil8 Manning Polo $150 – Bourne Jacket $375 – NED Slacks Ventil8 $165 LIZZIE DRIVER www.lizziedriver.com I rarely see women's golf apparel covered in the online golf community. Lizzie Driver is a female specific line, and offers classic cuts and colors suitable for the country club or the office catering to ladies age 30 and up. Lizzie Driver is a premium line that is really well thought out and designed. Raven Polo $98 – St. Sophia Skort $136 NIKE www.nikegolf.com The behemoth in Oregon is a big box brand that always produces high quality and technical fabrics. Last year, Nike said that they are focusing on the technical side of their apparel and continuing to innovate around the movement of the golf swing. If you pick something up from Nike Golf, chances are you're going to like it. If there is anything you can expect from Nike is that it will be consistently good. Transition Polo $70 – Flat Front Pants $82 – Storm Fit Vapor Half Zip $230 Nike Momentum Polo $85 – Modern Pants $85 – Hypervis Half Zip 2.0 $90 Q.E.D. www.qedstyle.com QED is a brand that is quietly going about their business making some of the coolest apparel in golf. Their focus has always transitioned away from the golf costume look. You can pick up any piece from the QED line and wear it to work, out for a night on the town, and yes, even on the golf course. Trendy, stylish, and functional. Their pants? Some of the most comfortable in the game, pick up a pair and you wont be disappointed. Gold Kamas Polo $89 – Brigham Pullover $170 – Park City Trousers $149
  9. CAN YOUR PUTTING SAVE THE PLANET? Let's say Mars attacks, and to settle the War of the Worlds, the Martians agree to an 18-hole team best-ball match at Whistling Straights, as a prelude to this year's PGA. The winners get total domination of the known universe. The losers become intergalactic assistant greenskeepers. The match is tied. Mars taps in for par, leaving Earth with a 19 foot sidehill-downhill for birdie. For the win and the right to rule the solar system, who do you want taking that putt? Tiger in his prime? Arnie in his? Jack in his? Rory or Jordan? Choose wisely, lest you become the Karl Spackler of Uranus. Okay, so maybe your putts aren't for intergalactic domination, but we're sure you'd like to dominate your Saturday Swat, wouldn't you? MyGolfSpy would like to give you that chance. MGS, along with Nike Golf, is offering six of you the chance to test and review the new Nike Converge line of putters. We want to give six of you the opportunity test one out and let us know if they can help save the planet! According to Nike, the Converge line features: · An RZN layer between 304 stainless steel that manages forgiveness, for 10% tighter dispersion · Tour-proven RZN interest for softer feel and faster forward roll · “T” shaped alignment aids · Length-specific head weight How Can You Enter? It's simple – just follow these steps: Your name, average putts per round and home state Your putting stroke type: either straight, arc or slight arc Who you'd like to see take the putt against Mars for inter-galactic domination. This contest is open to avid golfers in the Continental US ONLY!!! (Sorry Canada, Australia, the UK, etc ) Check out the Nike Converge putter line here
  10. We've talked several times over the last few weeks about how Nike will do golf differently than it has in the past. In case you need it, here's further proof. Ladies, and curious gentlemen, here's a little something for you. Behold Michelle Wie's unique Nike Blazer golf shoe. For her part in this, Wie is a bit of a sneakerhead who owns 20 pair of Nike Blazer shoes and another 50 pairs of NikeID shoes. Following on the...heels (sorry) of the recent announcement of the Nike Jordan VI golf shoe, and Rory McIlroy's Limited Edition Lunar Control 3s, Wie's Blazers shouldn't be any surprise, nor should the implication that Nike considers Wie to be one of their marquee golf athletes alongside Tiger and Rory. Equally as interesting is that the Blazer golf hightops were apparently Michelle's idea. “Michelle asked us to create a high top golf shoe,” said Joël Greenspan, footwear designer for Nike Golf. “She wanted to feel more support throughout her swing and greater connection to the ground. She also wanted a shoe that would reflect her distinct sense of style on and off the course. The Golf Blazer is a dynamic take on a classic silhouette; reengineered and rematerialized to reflect Michelle's elite level of play.” If you're thinking hightops are overkill for golf, Wie makes an argument for stability (while talking up the iconic style): “The Blazer is a versatile, stylish and high performance shoe,” said Wie. “The high top collar is so functional for me, providing the support I need through the impact of my swing. I love the fact that I can bring the iconic retro hoops look to the golf course.” Other than the can't-miss-pink colorway, noteworthy about Wie's new shoes is the inside tongue detail which features her 2014 US Open Winning score. The announcement was originally slated for a later date, but I'm told Michelle loved the shoes so much she wanted to wear them immediately. Actual retail availability won't come until early next year. Retail colorways will be white w/black swoosh and Midnight Navy w/ white swoosh. What do you think? Is this something you'd like to see carry over to the men's side?
  11. Red, White, & Blue. Choose the color YOU want.
  12. Step up your wardrobe game to Major status.
  13. Nike Golf Club Collection - #TheOpen With The Open Championship at St. Andrews upon us this week, Nike has released an update to their "Club Collection". Nike bills the Club Collection as "Inspired by the game. Tailored for life on tour. Distinctive style on and off the course." Nike Golf's latest Club Colection pays tribute to the history of the game. Designed for the on-course performance and off-course casual, the colection celebrates the game's journey with a worn, weathered look, inspired by the famous links of Scotland. The ever-present elements at the historic course, especially wind and rain, lend to the garments washed appearance. That theme is most evident on the five T-shirt graphics from the collection. Each shirt emphasizes the harsh conditions with a washed and muted aesthetic. The NIke Golf 'Every Damn Bunker' T-shirt honors the sand hazards that notoriously disrupt the game of even the world's best players. Swinging Blind T-shirt refers to the St. Andrews hotel that obstructs the fairway view from the 17th tee box. These are quality feeling T-shirts built with Nike's Dri-fit technologies. They are quite fitted from a "standard" sizing, so those considering may want to go up a size. The Nike Golf Windrunner style borrows from Nike Sportswear while adding a washed, weathered look to the classic Nike Silhouettes. This jacket works well to cut down on wind and retains plenty of heat making it the perfect compliment for those cool summer evenings. Nike Golf True Caps are made with an absorbent sweatband and a flat-brim profile for superb comfort and a modern look. The feature the classic swoosh golf logo that is a constant in the Club Collection, as well as an elements logo reminiscent of the wind and rain the players will deal with throughout the week. Very impressed with these caps since I have a smaller size head. They're are not overly large and will appeal to a larger segment of consumers. These hats are also designed with Dri-fit to wick moisture, as well as Stay Cool technology to keep ya from over-heating. The Nike Club Collection is available now at select retailers. 18. Greetings I see a lot of products over the year, much of it gets covered in reviews such as the Holiday Buyers Guides, Ball Guides or Speed Reviews, but I think it's important to let you guys know what stays in the bag or hasn't survived the test of time. This is the 2015 MBP Gear in Play thread. Featured are 22 products that are bag fixtures, I continue to scrutinize or just new pending some sort of review. I've listed a brief overview of each with general comments, but I'm starting this thread to open up each one for questions and discussion. So ask away, or maybe even leave your own impressions of a product listed here. Look forward to hearing from you guys. ACCESSORIES Best Grips Drivershoes and Puttershoes I'm constantly asked at the range; course etc where I got the driver cover. It's a serious head turner. Feels and smells like genuine leather Takes a beating an holds up well after over a year's use Soft internal lining Stitch Golf Covers The leather is good; although not quite as plush as I've seen Looks are really nice in person with nice detail and great color selection Internal lining is very thin and doesn't imply luxury Tight fit on large driver heads Garmin Approach S6 Mrs. MBP swears by the easy to read plethora of data Comfortable on wrist Data is quite accurate when verified against my laser GRIPS Best Grips Microperf I love grabbing the water bottle, soaking the grip and handing them to someone to see their “Holy crap it's even tackier!” reaction. Super tacky Love the feel of leather The stitching down the back isn't for everyone 2015 Pure Grips DTX and P2 Wraps I wasn't a fan of previous generation pure grips. They always felt as if they were dusty and instilled not confidence of not flying out the hands. Much tackier than before Comfortable with good feedback DTX tend to twist in the textured areas a little SHOES Biion I reviewed these last year and immediately fell in love. Yes, I've suffered through my detractors who I still call friend with comments like “Take off those Rubbermaid shoes”, but I continue to wear them. Super comfortable No smell after (serious I stuck my nose in) Quick and convenient to throw on and go (driving is fine) Great traction ECCO Biom Very sturdy, stable feeling Wide fit whether that's a good or bad thing – good for me Awesome toe protection – can wear on range mats without wearing out Footjoy DNA They hug and mold to your feet with their cool fitfoam system. I wasn't expecting this kind of support and will admit my feet ached for the first hour I wore them. By the end of that days round I was sold on their comfort. Fit to size Super comfy Really good traction Nike Lunar Control 3 Just took them out of the box, more to come Wide toe box Went a half size up for best fit True Linkswear Gent Wingtips Well don't I look all fancy! Fit wide Scuff easily Sole peeled back on first pair in 8 rounds BALLS From the Direct to Consumer Ball Guide 3UP, Lightning, Monsta, Nicklaus and Snell These balls all compete on a tour level but there are a few shining stars. Snell Very controlled spin Bombs off driver Feels great Nicklaus Crazy low bombing driver spin Solid feel Really good wedge touch/Spin TaylorMade Project A They claim it's like a Pro V 1 and they're pretty close. Sweet soft feel Mid-flight trajectory Surprising spin CLUBS Ping G30 Driver This club is all shaft dependent for me to ensure I keep the spin down. I've gone with a 73g Paderson and so far so good. Accurate Predictable ball flight Freakin loud Nike Vapor Pro For those who like to hit non-ballooning, line-drive bullets. I've had this driver one weekend and I look for every excuse to hit it. Talk about a perfect fit for me stock with the Diamana S+ shaft. Mishits carry much further than what I'm used to Really accurate Great soft feel face Flat trajectory TaylorMade Rsi2 Irons Love these Straight Mishits carry better Feel is really nice for a GI with forge faces Titleist 915 HD Hybrids Yes it's dirty, but you needed to see how often I use it. I look for a reason to hit hybrid because of this club. I will mention I'm test driving a Paderson Hybrid shaft in this one and the combination is great. Accurate Workable Feels good Ping Ketsch 352% more accurate from 5 feet? Yup 8 feet and in seems automatic I find it tough to adjust to for lag putting SHAFTS Paderson Irons I've got a thread already that I need to update with a mini review, but I will say these are the straightest damn iron shafts I've ever played. Distance is good, not phenomenal Good feedback Strong but smooth Great flat trajectory So there you they are, a bevy of goodies for us to discuss.
  19. Lets play a game.
  20. FROM THE BLOG Nike Launches Vapor Series Irons The Vapor Lineup By now most of you have seen the #MMProto irons that Nike launched in extremely limited quantities a few weeks ago. Those, now known as the Vapor Pro, are part of the new lineup, albeit with one not-so-subtle tweak. The Pro, along with the other two new irons (Pro Combo and Vapor Speed), feature bright neon accents. FYI, Nike calls the color Volt, and I suspect it's not going to resonate – at least not in any positive way – with purists, and those of you who are already a bit Nike Golf averse. http://www.mygolfspy.com/nike-golf-vapor-irons/ So whatcha think about Volt? I'm not a fan because I associate red with nike players irons and greens/yellows with low end such as the "Slingshot"
  21. Sweaty on the golf course, but still want to look good? Nike has saved the day.
  22. Shooter!!
  23. The perfect selection of spring colors.
