  1. So I was at a Demo Day this past Friday (6/16/18) hitting irons and the Ping Rep mentioned that Ping was going to release a new iron. He didn't know that date and didn't say what they were, Anyone heard this rumor ?
  2. First off let me say this is in no way affiliated with the testers that were chosen in one of the forum testing opportunities. This is just my review of my new gamers. Background I have been playing golf for about 20 + years off and on. I started when I was around 15. I have taken periods off like years at a time depending on my situation. I recently started back and my irons at the time were Titleist 704CBs that I had bought used off of eBay about 8 or 9 years before. I went out with my younger brother about 2 months ago, he had been wanting to play for months before that. Truthfully
  3. I have been playing 714 AP2's the last few years and starting to play less and less. I have been offered a set of Ping I irons for my set. I just wanted to get an input on the trade and if I should do it because I'd like an iron with more forgiveness. Thanks in advance

    Doon

Ping Sigma G Doon Putter At age 70 I have been playing golf for 26 years now, and I have never been one to collect putters. I have struggled in my early years with putting; my local pro said I had “hands of stone”. I had 4 putters in those 26 years. About 7 years ago I bought a used anser-style Boccieri Heavy Putter at a Golfsmith because it felt good when making a stroke. The extra weight seemed to quiet the hands and allowed a smooth pendulum motion. My putting improved. Then 2 years ago I was fortunate to test a Nike Converge mallet putter for MyGolfSpy, and I decided that
  6. Well for me this will be challenging, as I know the number will be higher than I expected, and my memory isn't what it used to be. But I thought it'd be fun to list all the drivers we've had in the bag at one time or another. I was going to go by year, but I don't have that good of recall anymore, so I'll go by brand. Let the fun begin. Adams Golf: Speedline Bridgestone: J815- Callaway- Original Big Bertha FT5 FT9 Draw FT-IZ X-Hot Opti
  7. What's going on MGS members? My name is Kyle and I am from Ohio- I've been using MGS for almost a year now but decided recently to start posting and looking at the forums to help my game out, and see what cool new equipment is out there! I used to be a College Baseball player, but now my passion is golf- I would play everyday if I could and almost wish that I would have started playing earlier in life I started playing in 2015 - Currently on the road to break 80- best round an 85.. I am not one of those golfers that will overstate my skills or how far I hit it because of an ego
  8. I look at the bags of people I play with and think, wow! I seriously need to sort my kit out! Don't get me wrong, I do like my irons (Mizuno MP30 3-PW), but I am sure that being so old and so well used, they are not helping my game much anymore. My bag is okay, but my trolley - OMG! - It's one of those old Titleist square tube fold-up jobbies haha! I have a mixture of wedges and these too are old (apart from my Callaway 56 degree) and my woods are also quite ancient when it comes to comparing against the adjustable modern drivers of the last few years or so! Driver sounds like a frying

  10. Just bought a new set of glide wedges, and although I love the non-tapered, longer grips that come standard, I like the consistency of having the same feeling grips on all clubs (I use GP Tour Wraps on everything.) I thought I might have a go at regripping the Glide wedges, but building up the grip to reduce the amount of taper. I would lose the benefit of the longer grip, but I feel that's a trade-off. Anyways, anyone else play with their wedges like this? How much tape do you tend to use? Any other pros/cons I'm missing (I realize the dyla grips are heavier.)

  12. (4) TESTERS WANTED PING Glide 2.0 Wedges Can PING's new wedges change your short game? For most golfers, the search for a new short game begins and ends with Vokey, Cleveland or Callaway – the Holy Trinity of Wedges. PING feels its new Glide 2.0 wedges should be part of that conversation, thanks to new sole grinds, improved groove technology and spin-preserving hydrophobicity (look it up). Add a host of no-upcharge shaft options and PING's legendary color-coded customization and you have a wedge the company feels belongs on the main stage. Testers Wanted! As
  13. The picture have been circulating of the new i200's....anyone heard whether it's just another iron range that Ping will be releasing or will they be releasing woods as well or they sticking with the G range for this year?
  14. Glad to be a part of GolfSpy! Central Texas golfer that enjoys reading about, hearing about, and playing golf! Looking forward to seeing some of you all on the first tee!

  16. Beautiful old set of Karsten 1 irons, all matching serial numbers, original shafts. Never abused, and kept in climate controlled environment as long as I've had them. Pictures include face of the PW...grooves still in excellent condition. All grooves on all clubs in this or better shape. Make me a good offer, please!
  17. Fellow golfers: The TL/DR version: At what point at the bottom of the talent and skill scale is the quality of the club irrelevant to the golfer's ability (assuming a basic level of quality)? The full version: I love this game. I've been playing for four months, finally, and I'm taking lessons and have the kind of life where I can either play, get to a driving range, practice putting, practice chipping and pitching, or any combination of these things every day. As a beginner, I bought a decent set of used clubs, including a driver, wedges, woods, and a putter. All good ge

  20. You are about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. There's a signpost up ahead – your next stop? The Crossover Zone. PING Golf is many things, but satisfied with the status quo isn't one of them. PING offers some of the easiest to hit long irons and hybrids on the market, and with every new offering they always have a compelling story to tell. This year's G line, from driver to pitching wedge, is loaded with technology PING believes will make the game a boatload easier and more fun to play. The CrossoverYou first read about PING's
  21. So have you had the chance to read up on the new PING Fairway woods, hybrids and crossovers? Some personal observations -- I've never found a hybrid I couldn't hook off the planet, and the new G hybrid fits that mold...although they are easy to hit and when I did keep the face open I really liked the ball flight. My favorite club of the trip was the Stretch 3 Fairway wood...that thing was a friggin' mawnsta! There's a VERY good chance one of those might find its way into the bag this year. It was GREAT off the tee and remarkably easy to hit off the deck. I had gamed a Cally 2Dee
  22. So PING is releasing an upgrade to the G30 driver. Does this surprise you? It's been 18 months... PING doesn't generally release a new driver just to release a new driver. I may have been in the minority in that I was not a fan of the G30 at all...but the G? I liked it a lot when we were there... One never knows... Here's the link -- check it out and report back! http://www.mygolfspy.com/ping-g-driver/
  23. PING is releasing its new G iron today -- no numbers, just "G." They're promising more distance, but from I could tell during our visit, they're promising more distance than the G30 -- they never said anything about EXPLOSIVE distance. They did give compelling reasons why hitting an 8 iron from 165 is better than hitting a 6 iron from 165 - and the Hyper 17-4 Technology is pretty darned cool. They basically "invented" a new material by patenting a heat-treat process that gives an old material (17-4 SS) some pretty cool properties. Anyway, check out the blog post here, and repo
