  1. Mizuno JPX 900 Driver HEAD ONLY. Could essentially pass as new as there are next to no scratches or marks on the head. Matching headcover included and is also in new condition. This clubhead DOES include the shaft adapter and is ready for immediate shafting. Most listings for head only do not include the adapter so this is an added value. Also included is a Callaway torque wrench which works exactly the same as the stock Mizuno wrench. Mizuno adapter adjusts loft from 7.5* to 11.5* and 3 upright settings. Face angle is adjustable with the silver slider on the sole and the blue weights can be moved from the center track to the toe/heel weight ports with the included wrench. SOLD
  2. Having just recently upgraded from a GBB driver to my Callaway Razr, I'm now seeing another technology shift to the Taylor Made "Twist Face" design. As my opening statement obviously suggests, I've never been one to chase the latest in technology in my golf equipment (fly-fishing equipment as well). That said, this design/concept is pretty intriguing. If you're playing this driver, what do you think about it?
  3. After three different fitting sessions and waiting 2 weeks for delivery, I finally got my hands on my new driver! The specs: Left Handed Callaway Rogue Draw, 10.5* Project X Hzrdus Yellow 76G, 6.0 Stock Shaft Length (45.5 inches) Stock Grip (GolfPride NewDec Platinum) For a recap of how I ended up with this club, read my full fitting experience here. First Impressions: I was only able to hit the driving range this weekend (thanks so much, rainy DC weather), but my first session with this club was truly impressive. With the heavier shaft and much stiffer profile than my old club, I felt much more in control throughout my swing. This was most pronounced in my downswing, where the heavier club helped me feel when I was coming over the top, thus mitigating that bad motion and delivering better results. My prior driver swing delivered a fade to the left side of the fairway to a slice-miss on a bad swing. With the Rogue Draw, I was hitting center target line to slightly left on poor swings. My goal with this club was to eliminate the out-of-bounds miss to the left. It's clear from my driving range session this will prove to be a success. The shaft: Overall I'm really impressed with the Hzrdus Yellow. Leaning on this driver compared to my old R15 was night and day. Ballflight was much more penetrating and dispersion very tight. What really stood out to me was how stiff this shaft is compared to my old driver that also had a "stiff" shaft. When I put both on the ground and lean on them a bit, The Hzrdus has very little give and my R15 Shaft felt like it was going to snap in half. As many have said here and elsewhere, not all stiff shafts are created equal. Overall feedback from the shaft is a bit muted since it's so stiff, but miss hits felt much more solid (likely a bit of the new head as well). I'd highly recommend trying a heavier shaft for increased control. Many folks think (as do the marketers) that heavier shafts will slow your swing speed down considerably. I can tell you that for me, this wasn't the case at all. The stiffer profile and overall control of the shaft encouraged me to really get after a few with really positive results. Your milage may vary, but don't shy away from trying a heavier shaft when getting fit. The Clubhead: At address, the head profile is incredibly inviting. The solid black to exposed carbon-fiber finish helps make the head not look massively oversized. Compared to my old White-top R15, this thing looks sleek. Coming from a white head driver back to a more traditional black was interesting. The contrast between the ball and head has more of an effect on my comfort level at address than I thought. I just felt like I had a much better idea of where I was lining up, for whatever reason. From above, you'd have no idea it's the draw biased head compared to the standard Rogue. For those of you that care about not showing you're playing with equipment that's designed to mitigate your high-handicap miss, this may be important (it's not for me). As for performance. Man oh man, when you strike center face with this bad boy, the ball just explodes. My wife came with me to the range and when I pured one she was amazed at the sound at impact and how the ball took off like a rocket. Mis-hits were very forgiving. On several toe strikes I felt very little twisting (likely also thanks to the stout shaft) and while the result was offline, the ball definitely carried closer to full distance than my prior club while "in play" of my defined fairway at the range. The caveats: If you tend to solidly fade the ball and rarely hit a draw, this the draw version of the Rogue Draw will not have you suddenly pumping pure, tight draws. This wasn't the expectation, nor is it the result. For me it eliminated my strong fade on good drives, pulling those to straight down centerline, while tightening my miss from OB to left-fairway. This club definitely opened up a pull-hook miss for me. I don't think I've ever missed fairway right, and there were a couple swings where I was really trying to turn over on the ball that resulted in dead pulls. I suspect my new miss will have me exploring a number of areas on the course that I've never had to explore. Conclusion: Very, very impressed with the club. I can't speak to on-course results just yet (I'll reply with an update once I get a round or two in) but I can say that my range session was as impressive as it could've been. One thing I'll keep looking out for is the right-of-fairway bias that may become more prevalent as I continue to improve my swing through the recurring lessons I'm taking. For my swing right now, I suspect it'll be awhile before the draw-bias starts getting me into trouble, but it may in the future. Thoughts? Questions? Concerns? Happy to take any and all questions you may have!

  5. I still have my callaway x hot driver head but i no longer have a shaft with an x hot dapter on it. A friend is trying to get into golf and wanted to find a shaft to put with this driver head on the cheap
  6. Looking for some recommendations/tips/suggestions on choosing my new driver. I started getting into golf seriously last spring with a mixed set of used clubs. By middle of the summer I upgraded to a brand new set of Callaway Steelhead irons that my wife got me for an anniversary present. I get to the course a few times a month and usually get to the driving range weekly. I am not looking to break the bank and understand that I don't need the most expensive club out there to get better. Based on some basic research and feedback I got from the guys at Golf Galazy, I have narrowed it down to these three: -Callaway XR -Ping -Taylormade M2 Thoughts?
  7. FROM THE BLOG First Look – Fugazi Floyd the Driver from Geek Golf http://www.mygolfspy.com/geek-fugazi-floyd-the-driver/ Geek golf goes all techie on us and discusses their latest driver which sounds like an 80's movie robot - "FLOYD" So how does a company like Geek compete with the big OEM's? Would you bag it? How good would the results have to be?
  8. It's almost that time of the year, has any one seen or heard what TM has in store for 2018?
  9. Found on Instagram here. I know nothing more about it.
  10. Something occurred to me last night for the first time. Probably because I just went through a recent fitting where I was making sure I was still a midsize grip. I have always had my iron grips in midsize for as long as I can remember. But last night as I was grabbing a hybrid, with the stock grip, it made me wonder why I never considered getting a midsize grip for my hybrid, or driver, of FW or wedges for that matter. So those that have midsize grips, do you have throughout the entire set or just irons? What are your thoughts either way on the subject?

  13. I am a mid to high handicapper and I am looking for a new driver. I have been using a Titleist 909 D2 for the last couple of years but think it's time for an upgrade. Does anyone have any suggestions for what will give me the maximum length and forgiveness?
  14. So I have started using a Skycaddie Linx GT watch with smart tags on the course. Yesterday it rained pretty good right before I played so the course was soggy. I found out that with my Nike Ignite 460 I am only getting about 225-235 carry distance. I have measured distances of 245-275 other rounds using GPS and am thinking that due to the wet conditions I got zero roll out which could be the reason the distances are short. Even with my 2 iron hybrid I am only getting 210-217 distance. I guess I am going to need to get a fitting to optimize the carry distance. Now granted it didn't hurt me that much cause I shot a 79. My swing speed is 99 mph most of the time as measured by trackman during a driver fitting earlier this year. At that fitting, the pro didn't even ask me to hit my driver for reference which was weird and ended up suggesting a Titleist 917D2 9.5 with Aldila Rogue Stiff shaft. I didn't buy it because well its $500.

  16. What's the most underrated equipment in your bag? Is there something in your bag that maybe hasn't gotten a ton of love in the golf community either with players or reviews? For me I am finding that Adams made some really great equipment especially right before the Taylormade purchase of them. I bought a brand new Adams XTD Ti 3 wood and 5 wood for $30 bucks each...got an Adam Pro Red hybrid for $40 and have the XTD Ti Driver in route to the house purchased for $50. I am really amazed at these items...great sound and plenty hot...great stock Matrix shafts as well....what are your thoughts?

  18. How are we not talking about this yet? Big win for Srixon but it was awesome to see how close all the top drivers were. As always, a great test for MGS and probably the reason a lot of people started on this site in the first place (and for the free stuff). Thoughts? Surprises?
  19. I purchased in February 2016, my new driver Callaway XR16 10.5 ° shaft Fujikura speeder evolution 565 red graphite 59 gr. flex R - SW D3. Attached the shaft specifications. My swing speed with the new driver (set 12.5 ° draw) is between 90-95 mph with slightly negative angle of attack, smash factor 1.35-1.45, carry about 200-210 y. I hit enough to the center and the ball flight is good enough. I go quite right although I tend sometimes to take the hook. Normaly I use Callaway supersoft or Titleist pro v1. I am increasingly convinced that the lack of distance depends not only from my swing, but also from the shaft. Have you to suggest me an alternative shaft that can afford to be longer? Thanks in advance for your welcome suggestions. 2016 Speeder Evolution Technical Specs.pdf
  20. Hello to all. I'm Italian and my name is Aurelio. I live in the Marche region, a wonderful place with a population of 1,500,000 inhabitants (Ancona, Loreto, Sirolo, Numana, Recanati, Urbino, Jesi, Macerata, Ascoli Piceno ....) but, unfortunately, with a single 18 holes golf course (Conero golf club). I play golf from 6 years but I was also very much interested in the equipments and technology, where you Americans are the undisputed masters. I hope you bear with me for my bad English.

  23. Toney Covey's Recent blog, titled as above, was a revelation for me. My driver SS is 90-100, hasn't changed in years. The M1 is the longest driver I ever hit: avg 230 total with 220 carry, capable of 250-260. My M1-460cc is 9.5* with the stock Fujikura Pro60 Stiff. At neutral settings, I hit it 200, but increasing loft setting 2* got me 30 more yds. Only problem was, increasing loft on an M1 automatically closes the face; the two adjustments are inseparable. The 2* uploft closed the face 4*. No way to prevent it. So, to get 30 more yards of distance, I had to fight a pull hook all day. For 30 more yds? You bet! Then along comes Toney's article. So i moved both weights to the extreme rear, moving CG back. This increased dynamic loft, higher trajectory, more distance -- maybe. But the amazing thing was it eliminated side spin! The club is now a point-and-shoot howitzer. I now step into the tee box with confidence my drives are going to go and finish at least in the general vicinity of where I'm aiming. Apparently rear club weighting is a good thing, and I'm looking for my lead tape. Anybody out there have a similar experience?
