  1. I have had the cobra King 3 utility for about 7 months now and let me say this thing is an absolute weapon. However, the shaft durability leaves alot to be desired. I have a high swing speed (125-130 with driver) and this shaft has splintered/broke right above the adapter(pic attached) three times in 7 months. Cobra has been great about replacing but the constant worry of the shaft breaking and having to deal with waiting for a new one to come in has been painful. That being said when the shaft isnt broken the club hits missiles, its easy for me to flight it down and hit a stinger off the tee (go to shot with it) or hit a higher flighted shot when necessary. The club itself is forgiving enough and gives you confidence standing over the top of it with a slightly thicker top edge. I also find it easy enough to shape the ball with a draw or fade when need be. The loft adjustability is a bonus as well, I have the 19.5 degree 3 cranked down to 18.5, with the ability to go up and down 1.5 degrees this club can be adjusted based on how youll use it on different courses. If you're in the market for a UDI this is definitely one to take a look at, but would recommend going a different shaft route than the stock catalyst, especially if you have a high swing speed
  2. I have been wanting to fill the gap between my 4 iron and 3 wood. I need something that is either 19 Degree or 20 Degree hybrid or driving iron...... open to suggestions..... I mainly want it for off the tee, a club I can use to confidently hit the fairway. Any suggestions on what i should get?
  3. I need some advise on what shaft to hit in two of my clubs that are new to my bag. First club is a Callaway GBB Epic HeavenWood set to 19* in a Aldila Rogue MAX 70 S Second Club is a Cobra King Utility 2-3 Iron set to 18* in a Aldila Rogue 95 MSI 85H Stiff The Question at hand is should I be hitting an X Flex in the two clubs above? - Currently i game a XR 16 Pro with a Aldila RIP Beta 70 X. My driver swing speeds are avg 114mph - My 3W is in a Fujikura Speeder 84 Tour Spec X I feel like the Heavenwood is a nobrainer to swithc since its a 7W in a 3W shaft. However, the Driving Iron is very new to me and i dont know how this fits in shaft-wise since its right between my irons and woods and is a 7W replacement for windy days or narrow courses. My most frequent miss with UDI is left. Thanks!

  7. I'm starting this thread prematurely because I don't have range feedback to give you just yet. You see, I received my Taylormade UDI 3 iron today, fresh in its unopened packaging. Cost me $133 and since I'm a driving iron proponent and frequent user, I was salivating at the chance to put this club through a workout. Sadly, my 20 degree Ultimate Driving Iron no. 3 measures just 39.5" with its KBS C taper shaft. Well my 17 degree Speedblade 3 iron, which has a bigger face and is stupid easy to hit, has a 40.5" shaft. In fact, this UDI 3 is half an inch shorter than my Speedblade 4 iron with the same 20 degree face! I can see absolutely no point in comparing a "custom driving iron" against my set four iron, can you? For what it's worth, I hit the SB 3 iron about 230 to 250 and the 4 iron about 215 to 220. What's this small headed short UDI possibly gonna do? So I'm not even going to take the plastic off, I'm going to re-sell it and look for a UDI 2 iron, which should spec a little closer to the SB 3 iron. When I do, I'll resurrect this thread and re-post. In the meantime, if any of you want to chime in with your thoughts on the UDI or on driving irons in particular, feel free. (In fairness, I've learned that my SB's measure about 1/2" over the currently posted specs on TMag's website. I swear I bought them stock standard, but now it seems that they are "long".)
