Got my new PXG 0811 X Prototype 9 degree yesterday!! Driving range session tonight. Do I like it? To quote DJ "Abso f$#%/ lutely!!" Distance: Played a Taylormade Burner for too long. Really think the face died on me. Dropped from 290's to 270's. Getting older but not that old. Back to 295ish tonight. I'll take it!! Control: Toed and/or heel hits came back to center mostly. Center face hits were solid feeling and sounding. Not sure if I can control shape yet as I want just hitting Wilson range balls. I could shape my draw (natural) and a fade most of the time. I am testing TP5 balls. Playing Thursday so we will see. Fitting: Atl studio. VERY THOROUGH. Ordering: Online at pxg.com. Used the PXG Troops discount. THANK YOU BOB!! Accessories: Head cover magnetized to "hang" on cart. Wrench to adjust head +/- 1.5 degrees loft AND the perimeter weights. This was an easy process. If you are a vet.... the discount is UH-mazing!! Find a studio and ORDER!!

Since we are now almost a year removed from Nike getting out of the equipment game, I was wondering if anyone has ever come across any photos of the 2017 equipment line that would have been launched. Based on the chatter last year, the 2017 equipment was already finished and 2018 was in development, but I personally haven't come across any photos of what they left on the table when they decided to close up shop. And in this day and age, there isn't a lot that you can't find on the internet with a quick google search. Was everything completely locked down, destroyed and burned once ping bought some of their parents? We're the innovations so mind blowing that the CIA is covering it up and using the technology in its clandestine assignments across the globe? I know the majority of the golfing community was not a fan of Nike equipment, but I have gamed their drivers for a while as they just seemed to work for me. Heck I still bag the covert tour 2.0 driver with that bright red paint and huge cavity (which I use as a couch for my golf ball while waiting on the tee box for the rest of my group to tee off. I think that is really what it was built for!) So naturally, as a purchaser of their clubs, I am curious what innovations (or gimmicks, if you prefer to call the, that) the company was attempting to bring to the table.

BestGrips prides itself on being one of the last companies that actually makes its own products. Too many companies have become "re-marketers," moving production to countries with cheap labor. It's bad business that creates more problems than it alleviates! While making your own products has many benefits, my favorite is making onsie and twosies like this... This is a proto-Puttershoe dubbed the Putterboot. It's specifically designed for putters with long, or unorthodox, necks. Because of the longer flap, it also fits in the bag better. The luxurious leather is a new for 2014 option called Vermont Maple.
