  1. I look at the bags of people I play with and think, wow! I seriously need to sort my kit out! Don't get me wrong, I do like my irons (Mizuno MP30 3-PW), but I am sure that being so old and so well used, they are not helping my game much anymore. My bag is okay, but my trolley - OMG! - It's one of those old Titleist square tube fold-up jobbies haha! I have a mixture of wedges and these too are old (apart from my Callaway 56 degree) and my woods are also quite ancient when it comes to comparing against the adjustable modern drivers of the last few years or so! Driver sounds like a frying pan! I love the look and feel of the new Taylormade P-Series irons and Titleist have always been a firm favourite in terms of both look and feel. I've also hit a few shots on the range with the Mizuno MP4 - wow such a sexy looking set of sticks!! I'd love to just get myself fitted and start a new chapter in my golfing career, but fallen on hard times and although on an upward curve now, this is not likely to happen for some time. Would be nice to be a test subject, I reckon! #Taylormade #Titleist #Mizuno #Callaway #Ping - I'll Be Your Guinea Pig if you need normal people to test your clubs. I would blog and brag all day about your brand - I'm active in many groups and follow so many blogs, I have also just started to get a decent following on my FB Fan Page and building a group - https://www.facebook.com/SunsetSafarisGolf/#- https://www.facebook.com/groups/SunsetAfricanSafariandGolf/ I play off 8, have been as low as 3, so please pick me !

  4. I've been a TaylorMade irons player since the TaylorMade Bubble Burner Oversize model. I bought my first set in 2000. They were new to me (originally released in 1996), first set of graphite irons and 'quality' golf clubs I ever owned. They replaced my starter set, which I'd had for over 15 years - Spalding Executive's. After the Bubble Burners, I bought the TM RAC LT's, then R7 CGB's, Burner 2.0's, then the SLDR's. Of those, the Burner 2.0's were the longest club's I'd ever owned - though I did my best scoring with the SLDR's. I had it in my head, I'd move to the PSi's, or maybe the M1/M2 series. I'd tried them, meh...nothing that seemed overly impressive. While at a golf show, I tried the Ping G series irons. They felt great, I was convinced I was going to buy a set. While on travel, staying in Yorktown, VA, I stopped by a local golf shop and tried them on a launch monitor. The numbers weren't as impressive I hoped. So then I tried the M2's, kind of the same range of numbers. Also, nothing that made me scream for a new set. The guy at the shop asked me to hit the Mizuno JPX-900's. First shot...wow! Great feel, ball seemed to jump off the club. Let's run the numbers....spin rates are down on long irons, distance was up..what the heck was going on?!? He mentioned to me that based upon my swing, he put in the Project X LZ (5.5) shafts. Was that making that big a difference? Apparently .... yes. I continued to hit them, switching back to the M2 & G series, just to be sure it wasn't because I was just 'warmed up' now. Nope...the Mizuno's are clearly the better club FOR ME. I emphasize this, because everyone's swing is different, but for me - I've found my clubs. Now, they're pricey...it's hard to find a deal on them. Prices are pretty much set - but I got what I was looking for, 5 - GW in the Project X LZ shafts. My custom fitting told me I'm 1/4" longer and 2* upright - first time I've modified my irons off standard, I'm really looking forward to the new clubs - albeit apprehensive about hitting something other than standard settings. Guess we'll see if it's accurate! To be honest, I've been a die-hard TaylorMade guy for more than 15 years. I still believe they make the best drivers in the business. But, it's hard to imagine me bagging anything except TM's, yet here I am. I've played the Mizuno wedges (MP T-11, T4 and T5's for years), but never really thought I'd switch. Blind loyalty...yep, that WAS me. I'm on travel to VA again this week, but my wife told me my new clubs from Mizuno arrived on Thursday. I get back home to Florida on Saturday - I'll be at the range and playing my first round with them on Sunday. I'll keep you posted... -- P.J.

  9. Wanted to hear the MGS forum's thoughts on two mallet putters. I've played a Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport that I had restored back in 2005, with custom colors, for the past 10+ years. I've been streaky with it, at best, but as silly as it sounds, it's my putter. I've never really wanted to change. I mean, it has my initials on it. I've been playing a course with excruciatingly slow greens lately, which has seemed to amplify mishits due to the speed required to get the ball to the hole. While I've always known I'm a SBST putter playing a putter that tends towards a more arc style stroke, I've managed to make do over the years. Unfortunately those shortcomings are exposed more and more often. So I've decided to purchase a SBST type mallet to see if that helps. I've narrowed it down to two and wanted some input. Has anyone had any experience with the Odyssey Works Versa #7H or the Taylormade Daddy Long Legs 2.0? I've putted with both and really liked the size and feel of them. I've pretty much settle don the #7H, if just on looks alone, but I like the white and black of the Daddy Long Legs. If I had an endless putter budget there wouldn't be any discussion...I'd just be buying this. But I'm not spending $300+ on a putter with an insert when there's a whole rack of Odysseys out there. Just random putter ranblings...let me know what y'all think.
  10. Im a 20 y/o golfer from Sweden, working in one of biggest Golfstores in Europe. Always looking to renew the bag with better gear, this is the final WITB for the season, feeling great! Playing with Titleist Pro V1x balls, Peak Performance Golf Stand Bag. Driver: TaylorMade M1 460 9.5* (set 2 stage lower) with a Project X Hzrdus Yellow 6.5 (75g), 44.75" (Tipped 0.5") D5 SW, got 3 weights total, 1 in CG, 2 in slides. Its a boooooooooooooomb!!!! Fairwaywoods: Titleist 915Fd 13.5* set to B1 with a Oban Devotion 8, 05 Flex 42.20" (Tipped 1.5") D3 SW, I had the Tour Green 85X in for a test but my old devotion is still better. The new Cobra F6 King Baffler 16.5* with a Aldilda ATX Tour Green 85X 41.75" (Tipped 1") D3 SW, Heavy weight in the front. My swing is kind of deep so I think the rails will benifit my aggressive swing alot, havent tried it alot yet. Irons: Titleist 716 AP1/AP2 Combo. AP1 in the 3 Iron and 5-Pw is AP2. The 5 iron got 25.5* of loft, so my gap is 20, 25.5 then 30 in the 6 iron. I am playing the AP1 like driving irons for little bit more forgivness. Got the Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100, great shaft nothing more to add! Wedges: SM5 52/12* F Grind, bent to 51/11* regular X100 shaft, going to pull it out and install TI X100 next season. SM6 F Grind 56/14*, bent to 55.5* TI X100 shaft, TaylorMade TP ATV 58*, bent to 59.5* KBS HI-REV X shaft, works really well, need alot of bounce since I take big divots. All of them painted in the swedish colours. Putter: Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2, 33.75", installed 2x 25g SuperMan weights, custom painted it in Swedens colours. Also got the limited Sweden Super Stroke Grip.
  11. Jonathan Wall ‏@jonathanrwall 37m37 minutes ago BREAKING NEWS: @TaylorMadeGolf has agreed to contract extensions with Jason Day and Dustin Johnson. Jonathan Wall ‏@jonathanrwall 33m33 minutes ago That's a huge get for TaylorMade. Two of the biggest free agents are off the market.
  12. Excellent set of Taylormade M2 irons 5-PW and a Taylormade M2 Tour Gap (A) wedge. I have taken individual pictures of the gap wedge and the 7 iron to show the difference between the M2 and M2 tour. The M2 Tour gap wedge blends seamlessly with the set and features slightly less offset than the standard M2 irons. These clubs have been upgraded to Project X 6.0 Graphite shafts and have Golf Pride Velvet Cord grips on the 5-PW and Golf Pride Z Cord grip on the Gap (A) wedge. They have been played approx. 12 rounds with range sessions in between. The faces show minimal normal wear and the soles have no rock chips or dings. Swingweight is D2 and the 5 iron measures 38.5" long. Images can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/R9Dtc Email me at rcslade@hotmail.com Asking $523 shipped OBO.

  14. Saw this on both Facebook and Twitter this morning, courtesy of that Muckraker of a golf journalist, GalfSpy T.... Could it be? Can it be? What in the name of the Pittsburgh Persimmon does it all mean?
  15. You're not Shooter McGavin, and you could use the extra help on the greens. So, put this putter in play and watch them drop! Here's the stick that makes it happen:
  16. This recent blog post regarding the latest TM ball prototypes caught my eye: http://www.mygolfspy.com/first-look-taylormade-2016-tour-preferred-tour-preferred-x-and-projecta-golf-balls/ I've never really given Taylormade golf balls the time of day just because i didn't think (perception wise) they were very good. But i had heard good things about the Project [a] golf ball and recently had a chance to test it. I've been playing with it ever since. I typically enjoy lower compression balls and prior to this i was using the Callaway supersoft. Love the way it sprung off the club face and felt like you weren't hitting much of anything. However, as i'm getting more comfortable on the course, the Supersoft left a lot to be desired around the greens. I've found the Project [a] is still a pretty soft ball that has a bit more "click" to it (It isn't hard enough for me to really be irritated by it, but it is noticeably harder than the Supersoft ), but still feels like it launches nicely off the face. And that little i lost in "feel" is more than made up for around the greens. The Project [a] checks up nicely around the greens (noticeably from 120-50 yards in) and gives me confidence with my wedges, plus it has a bit more of a piercing trajectory with my irons, which is nice. Definitely enjoying these balls at the moment and am pleasantly surprised to have my perceptions proved wrong. Wondering if anyone here has had similar reactions to the Project [a] ball? Or if there are other balls in the category that are worth giving a shot? Also, how do the Tour Preferred balls stack up against other premium balls on the market?
  17. These are the best.
