Why does this event sound like a major and why isn't the sponsor Guinness instead of Genesis? The Genesis Scottish Open is our next stop on this long 2022 campaign. I'm still trying to figure out "the field" list - which is a little different than our normal. Min Woo Lee returns as the defending champ in what many consider as the tune-up event for the following weeks 150th Open Championship. I've only seen Min Woo a couple of times and could be way off here, but he strikes me as a player who could start dominating fields sooner than later. To paraphrase my grand nephew... "that dudes gotz serious skillz". Oddly, as much as attending an Open event at St. Andrews would be a thrill, for me, this event would seem just as thrilling. Maybe it's just that I really enjoyed the couple of albeit brief visits I had in Scotland. Plus, I'm guessing the gate fee and beers are WAY cheaper . Don't forget to make your pick for this weeks winner https://runmypools.com/JRMPNWWF. Good luck!
Everyone recovered yet? Hard to be the follow-up act to The Masters, but someone's gotta do it and the good folks at Harbor Town Golf Links are ready to give it a go! Home of the iconic (fake) lighthouse and patrons wearing plaid, Hilton Head SC and the RBC Heritage is among the top stops on tour. A healthy handful of players from Augusta are in the field to include; Speith, Thomas, Smith, Cantlay, Morikawa, and DJ. Those that played all four days at Augusta may be at a disadvantage... worn out . In fact, it wouldn't surprise me that a few late WD's have the "alternates" scrambling to pack and catch a flight there. Stewart Cink returns to defend his title and, as well as he has been playing of late, it would not surprise me if he's in in the final mix on Sunday. While not on my FTx team, my gut tells me DJ is overdue and I'm thinking he'll get it done. Don't forget to make your pick for this weeks winner https://runmypools.com/JRMPNWWF. Good luck! Almost forgot about the ceremonial cannon-shot .
Pack your bags all... we're heading across country to the Sunshine State and Palm Beach Gardens (PGA National Resort & Spa). Sounds more like a vacation than work . Matt Jones returns to defend his win last year. The yellow ribbons will be out in full bloom and, while not as star studded as the Genesis, a strong field will be there trying to grab a share of the now $8,000,000 purse ($7.1M in 2021). Not sure if this will be a new trend or not but I wouldn't be surprised if it is and driven by all the world tour chatter. Palm Beach Gardens is home to the famous "Bear Trap" holes #15-17, a water everywhere stretch that has yielded a 230 over par last season. All you Ryan Palmer FTx owners have a decision to make in starting him - he holds the tour record for the most dunks since 2007 . Many contend it's more psychological than anything... perhaps that is exactly what Jack wanted? Pick your winner in the pool https://runmypools.com/JRMPNWWF. Good luck!
