  1. Just wanted to show a customs wedge I got for my dad for fathers day
  2. I decided to use this down time to get the tools and materials necessary to stamp my wedges. I got a 1/8" letter/number stamp set, small (3") anvil, oil-based paint pens and acetone (to clean off paint). I plan to experiment on some old wedges before I do anything to the gamers. Has anyone does this and have any advice or "lessons learned" to help guide me?
  3. Insufferable Originality Sometimes variety can be exhausting. Seriously, how many different kinds of soup do we need, and does your order at Starbucks really need to be dialed into the half pump of a Stevia-based caramel syrup? Maybe it’s the old man in me rearing up, but lately I’ve been tempted to move into a choice-free lifestyle, where each day I eat the same meals, wear the same clothes to work, and watch only broadcast television. Gotcha! Those of you who have read everything that I have written here at mygolfspy during the past ten years (Hi Mom!), know that I am typicall
  4. This is pretty cool, and I'm sure we'll get some saying $260 plus for a wedge is ridiculously expensive, but again, it's not being force on anyone, it's an option that has in the past only been available to the most elite players in the world, that is now available to anyone wanting to buy the service. Press Release: Master Craftsman Bob Vokey is now offering the tour grinding experience to all golfers through the introduction of the new HandGround program on Vokey.com. For golfers seeking tour-level customizations such as additional heel relief, a squared up leading edge, or B

  6. Imagine you're on the first tee. Ready to pull the driver. What could give you more confidence than looking in your bag at a picture of Dustin Johnson sending one 350 yards down the fairway, or make you smile more than a picture of your son or daughter taking their first steps, or the sunset of the 18th hole at Pebble Beach. Well Sunfish is now making it possible to have any of those memorable photo's professionally placed on it's genuine leather head-covers. Check out the link with all the info here as well as seeing some examples below. https://www.sunfishsales.com/ The idea
  7. Cheers all! I am a new golfer (~ 2 years of non-serious golfing) so I have no real handicap (if you twist my arm, I'll say I'm around +28-38). I still game a Top-Flite beginner's box set, but I've started branching out a little for various reasons. I have added a Mizuno JPX 800 5i (I have a mental issue hitting hybrids, and found myself often in 5i/5h range), a Cleveland 56 Satin Black wedge (broke the Top Flite on the driving range -- not from a bad hit!!!) and TM spyder (red, no sightline) putter. I plan on getting fitted for some GI gear next year, so until then, I will just dro
  8. Get ready to blow an hour or two... Scotty Cameron has announced a new Custom Shop tool to tweak and personalize your Cameron putter. This is nothing really new, as Mr. Cameron has had some kind of interface online in the Custom Shop for some time. That tool was a little clunky though as you had to click all over the place to make sure you hit all of the spots for paint and stamps. This new tool seems much more user friendly. Now all of the options are on the left margin, and require just a few clicks to update and customize your putter. It's a fun little diversion for the day.
  9. Hi Everyone, I am a Professional based in Holland and have a company called Burley Golf Development. My work involves developing Coaching, Fitting & Equipment and I am interested in feedback and keeping up to date with new developments within the world of putting. Glad to be involved and I look forward to some interesting discussions! Stuart Burley
  10. So I've seen some neat looking stamps and paint fills on this site in the small amount of time I've been here but I'm a hopeless golf addict and love seeing all the different ways people make a club or even a whole set uniquely theirs and I know I'm not the only one. So I started this topic for people to proudly display their masterpieces, in hopes that everyone can enjoy these awesome projects and maybe even inspire others to put a personal flair to their gear. So have fun and may your drives find the short grass!
  11. I would like to ask you to take time out to answer a few questions for research purposes. 1, What putter do you use and why? 2, What are the specs of your putter? 3, How long have you been using the current putter in your bag? 4, Do you commit to a specific method? 5, How do you rate your putting performance on a scale of 1 to 10? I look forward to your responses
  12. For about a year now I have been looking at the 59 belt company and hesitant to pull the trigger on a buckle and strap but I just saw the MGS buckle in the store here and yea that is awesome. Does anyone have any feedback on the buckles finishes and how they hold up over a season? I have a white on white puma belt now that seems to have yellowed a little in the buckle finish. Still white but not like it was when I bought it.
  13. I read a lot here on the Forum about clubs people own or want to buy. I'd say aside from the putter all I ever read about is guys buying TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Cobra, Adams, Cleveland, Nike, Mizuno, Ping, etc. That leads me to think that most people buy what's in front of them. You can't walk into a typical golf retail store and find anything other than Major brand products. I rarely see guys in the Forum talk about or even say they use custom clubs such as KZG, Alpha, Maltby, Wishon, Bang, Miura, Fourteen, Epon, etc, etc. (These are not clones) I never hear anyone say they're even co
  14. So I have been searching for a headcover for my 3W that matches my personality..... I should have known I would never find one. So I began researching and came across an article about turning a stuffed animal into a head cover. Genius, First off that is pretty much what the Daphene and other headcovers are. So I found a Stuffed animal I got when I was last in Iceland. IBV is a local sports complex and they are most known for their soccer club. The puffin is Iceland trademark pretty much. I started very carefully pulling it apart seem by seem until I had an opening big enough. I pulled

  17. If you follow BestGrips on facebook and twitter, you are aware that we have been looking for a decent golf bag for sometime. Most of the options out there are extremely expensive and are not made to last. A few months of research led me to Club Glove, which I firmly believe is neither cheaply made or outrageously priced. With that said, BestGrips is evaluating customized bags for the 2014 season. You would pick the color of the Club Glove bag, and BestGrips will customize the three panels with embroidery, or leather/exotic inlay. The option will be the FCO III Cart bag and possibly the Bil
  18. Let me get straight to the point. 3 extremely big things are coming to BestGrips in the next 6 weeks. They range from kinda neat, to really cool, and finally game changing. For the last month and a half I have been diligently working on the game changer and not much else. Unfortunately, this has caused an undesired absence from my online presence. This will be paid off in large dividends in the future. The first thing will be unveiled in the next 2 weeks. It's the really cool secret that I can't talk about. I get asked about this all the time and I'm really excited to finally have an a
