  1. Please join me in congratulating our five testers: US: DPattGolf PMookie poprockncoke UK: Jon Brittain CAN: TravisClarke (5) TESTERS WANTED!!! Ben Hogan Ft. 2. From today's InBox -- very similar the Bridgestone's program. Seems like a smart move as Hogan continues to inch forward... Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company Launches Club Demo Program _______________________________________________________________________________ FORT WORTH, Texas, January 3, 2018 -- Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company, LLC, manufacturer of premium golf clubs and golf bags, announced today it has launched a Demo Program to allow golfers to try its premium line of golf clubs before they purchase. "We understand that many players want to touch, feel, hold and, most importantly, hit new golf clubs before buying them," said Scott White, President and CEO, Ben Hogan Golf. "We are completely confident that when golfers compare Ben Hogan irons or hybrids to their current clubs, or other clubs they may be considering for purchase, they will prefer premium Ben Hogan products." In recent months, the Company reorganized and implemented an innovative 'factory-direct' distribution and pricing strategy. The Company remains committed to producing the best-performing and best-feeling golf equipment in the world, and now sells Ben Hogan Golf Equipment direct-to-consumers exclusively online at www.benhogangolf.com. This distribution model allows the Company to offer serious, avid golfers the high-quality Ben Hogan products they have come to expect from the Company at factory-direct prices with no retail mark-up. The Demo Program is simple and easy and provides golfers with the opportunity to try Ben Hogan products at no risk or obligation. The golfer can choose the model(s) and shaft they would like to try from the drop-down menus shown on the website. At this time, demo availability is limited to products with 'stock' lengths, lies and grip specifications. The customer's credit card will be charged only $20.00 for round trip shipping, and a deposit will be held on the card until the clubs are returned. A pre-paid UPS Ground return label will be included in the box. The golfer has fourteen days from the date of order to try the clubs, then return them to the Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company. Demo club availability will change on a daily basis. According to White. "We know that serious, accomplished golfers understand technology and appreciate the performance of our award-winning clubs, and we are pleased to give them the ability to easily demo our clubs to determine which model works best for them. Unlike other scenarios where clubs are hit into nets or at a manufacturer-specific Demo Day, we want to give the golfer the ability to test our products at his/her leisure, at their own course or range. We want to make this process easy and minimize any stress like high-pressure salespeople and Tech Reps." About Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company manufactures premium golf clubs and golf bags, and is committed to continue Ben Hogan's reputation of innovation, performance and classical designs. The company is based in Fort Worth, Texas, Ben Hogan's longtime home and the site of the original Company which opened in 1953. The Company offers their premium products online at www.benhogangolf.com exclusively. By eliminating the retail "middleman", the Company's cost structure is minimized and consumers are able to purchase high-quality golf equipment at factory-direct prices. 3. Thanks to undershooter for finding this one... Ben Hogan's website is back up -- sort of. Seems like the old boy isn't dead yet. Just swapped texts with Hogan CEO Scott White - he says the website is back up so Hogan can continue to sell clubs direct to consumers. "The phone has been ringing off the hook by "serious golfers" who are just now realizing our situation and want to buy clubs," White told me. "We're trying to raise short-term operating funds via the sale of existing inventory, while attracting new, long-term investors simultaneously. It's a challenge!" White says it's still he company's intention to emerge from its voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy as a leaner, more efficient and profitable entity. To that end Hogan has moved into a much smaller space - Callaway's old Tour Shop offices - and they're making clubs daily. If you go to benhogangolf.com, most of the website is functional, but importantly the "Buy Now" function is inoperative. White says that's because the Buy Now function is tied to its old system, which they're no longer using. If you want to order clubs, it'll need to be either by phone (844-52-HOGAN) or via email -- customerservice@benhogangolf.com There's still a pulse - maybe no much of one, but it's a pulse.
  4. (6) Testers Wanted!!! Ben Hogan VKTR Hybrids Hybrids are funny clubs. For some, hybrids are true long iron replacements: easier to hit and designed for a specific distance. For others, hybrids are really just min-fairway woods intended for maximum distance. The Ben Hogan Company says its new VKTR's, while no slouch in the distance department, really are long iron replacements because, after all, #precisionisback! Testers Wanted: Even though the name sounds like a Cold War-era Soviet tank, Hogan says its VKTR is designed with the better player in mind: a tour-inspired head shape that gets progressively smaller as the lofts get higher, 4 moveable weights to create the shot shape you want and a very Hogan-like 11 different lofts to dial in the distance you need. How do these new Hogan hybrids stack up against the big boys? We're looking for 6 of you to try out (and keep) a set of two VKTR's and tell us what you think. How To Apply: MyGolfSpy needs 6 avid golfers to test and review the VKTR hybrids. As you know, we take our equipment testing very seriously here at MGS, so please read the following instructions very carefully. In this thread, tell us the following: 1. Your name, home state and current handicap 2. What 2 lofts would you like to test (If you need help, visit Hogan's Online Performance Center) Easy as can be! We'll be announcing the testers in this space next week. Good luck!
  5. The Ben Hogan Company has officially launched its new Online Performance Center -- the relaunch of the online HoganFit program. We shared a preview with you last week, but it's now officially launched for the rest of the world. It's important to remember that it's just an online fitting tool, and not in any way intended to replace an in-person fitting with a professional fitter. Here's a link. And here's the press release: The Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company Introduces the “Online Performance Center” Company's proprietary technology now provides precise iron, wedge and hybrid fittings FORT WORTH, TEXAS, June 8th, 2016 – The Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company today announced a significant expansion of its online HoganFit™ clubfitting process. A visit to the new Ben Hogan Online Performance Center first offers each golfer a complete Bag Mapping Analysis, which provides an insightful look into the actual technical aspects of the golfer's current set make-up. From there, the golfer can choose to see “Ben Hogan Solutions” in a virtual clubfitting experience to re-working any aspect of their set make-up. Once the Bag Mapping Analysis is completed, the golfer can choose from any of four areas of fitting: • WedgeFit™- Recommends the exact matrix of Ben Hogan TK wedges to seamlessly blend to the golfer's current iron set, selecting from the Company's offering of 20 individual lofts from 44 to 63 degrees. • IronFit™- Prescribes Ben Hogan FT. Worth, FT. Worth hi combo or PTx irons based on the golfer's preference for distance, forgiveness, and workability, with each set accurately matched to the golfer's launch angle tendencies and preferences. • HybridFit™- Prescribes the right loft matrix of hybrids to optimize gapping and long-range performance, choosing from eleven different VKTR hybrids from 17 to 27 degrees of loft. • HoganFit™- Offers a full-bag custom solution of irons, wedges and hybrids, based on each golfer's individual preferences and skills, with the goal of optimizing performance through the entire bag. “Our company's values and our passion for precision are founded on Mr. Hogan's relentless pursuit of perfection,” said Terry Koehler, President/CEO of The Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company. “Our new Ben Hogan Online Performance Center is very sophisticated and is the first step to optimizing a golfer's ‘tool box' for better golf.” The entire Ben Hogan product line is based on giving each golfer the exact loft matrix in their hybrids, irons and wedges that will optimize their tee-to-green performance. The Company's commitment to precision is illustrated by the fact that each of the three iron models is crafted in every loft of iron from 20 to 47 degrees, which can be configured into any of four different sequences to fit any golfer's launch tendencies and preferences. The TK wedges are available in every loft from 44 to 63 degrees, and the VKTR hybrids in any loft from 17 to 27 degrees. “Ben Hogan was meticulous in the way he did everything,” explained Terry Koehler. “We believe he would be very proud of the extremes we have taken to provide golfers with this level of precision in assembling just the right set of clubs to get the most out of their own hard-earned skills. “We created the Online Performance Center's Bag Mapping Analysis to illustrate to any golfer the disparate loft gapping throughout his or her set that is the result of the industry's relentless pursuit of distance at any cost. From that understanding, golfers quickly appreciate how we have applied our technologies to re-align the set for improved accuracy and distance control, which leads to better shotmaking.” The Ben Hogan Online Performance Center can be found at BenHoganGolf.com.
  6. (3) Testers Wanted!!! Ben Hogan FT. WORTH hi Long Irons So let's say you're one of those golfers who can't hit long irons like Jason Day, but who also tends to hook any hybrid made slightly to the left of Bernie Sanders. Kinda limits your options, doesn't it? A New Kind of Long Iron: The Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company thinks it has something that could help the hybrid-hating long iron-phobics out there – the FT WORTH hi. Hogan says the FT WORTH hi is a hollow-bodied long iron that has the look of a forged player's iron but with enough perimeter weighting to provide just the right amount of forgiveness. Does the FT WORTH hi sound like something that could help your game? We need three of you to test them out and let us know. HOW TO APPLY: MyGolfSpy is looking for 3 golfers to test and review the new Hogan FT WORTH hi irons. Each tester will test (and keep) a set of 3 hi's, ranging from 20 to 31 degrees. We take our testing very seriously, so please read these application instructions carefully: In this thread, please tell us the following: 1. Your first name and home state/province 2. Your current handicap 3. The longest iron you're comfortable hitting It's that simple! We'll be announcing the testers in this space June 10th. For more information on the FT WORTH hi long irons, click here and here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77YDdCrLBjQ
  7. Got this in the Inbox this week - great stuff for Hogan-files... The President's Forum - Why We Do Things Differently April 2016 From the day we determined we would be bringing the Ben Hogan brand back to golf, we knew we must look to the past to see our future. Mr. Hogan founded his company in 1953 with the promise to craft "the finest golf clubs that could be made," and that they would be "like a fine piece of jewelry." Those principles built a legacy for producing the finest players' irons in the game, and a string of innovations ranging from the first light steel shafts (Apex) to the first game improvement forged irons (Edge). We agreed that those standards that served golfers so well would guide us as we rebuilt the company Mr. Hogan founded and nurtured for over forty years. As we took stock of what the golf club industry has become, we determined that we would follow a different set of rules. We would ask golfers what they really wanted, and give that to them. Millions of the most serious golfers told us they already hit their irons far enough, but they don't hit greens as often as they would like, and they don't have the distance control that precision iron play demands. They told us they were frustrated with their inability to hit their wedges consistent distances and with controlled trajectories. That high-face shot that goes nowhere was costing them strokes. They were confused and frustrated by the vast array of different bounce angles, each one claiming to be better at one kind of lie or swing than another. In other words, they wanted to hit real golf shots. They wanted to work the ball higher and lower as the situation defines the shot needs. They wanted to hit draws and fades, knockdowns and spinners. Reliably carve a few yards off of an iron or wedge shot at will. They told us that was what the game of golf was really all about. So we created a totally different approach to the design and crafting of irons and wedges - and now hybrids, with more to come. We engineered each club to have just the right amount of forgiveness, without compromising the responsiveness that better golf requires, or the forgiveness that all of us need now and then. We designed and crafted each club around the principles of golf club performance that will never change: Mass behind the impact zone is imperative to feel and performance Proper loft gapping and launch angle fitting will get more out of any golfer's game The highest quality manufacturing processes will ensure that every golfer - from tour pro to recreational player - will get all that can be delivered in a golf club We invite you to experience how these values and principles can affect the clubs you play, and how you play them. 8. Picked up pieces, rumors and what to look for from Ben Hogan in 2016... Look for an addition to the Fort Worth 15 iron offering - specifically an option for easier to hit long irons. Sources say the long iron options will be available in the 20-31* range and should make for a nice "combo" set -think Nike Pro Combo-ish New long irons will be unique to the Fort Worth 15 line, so as not to be confused with... A completely new iron set - a more forgiving forged cavity back compared to the Fort Worth 15's New iron will most likely to be situated between AP1 & AP2, or Cally's Apex and Apex Pro sets You'll also see a hybrid offering, with weight adjustability throughout. All these will be shown at the PGA show Release date for the irons is early April, hybrids sometime in May They'll also be offering a Pro Tour Staff Bag, and does that mean there may eventually be Pro Tour Staff? No word on that yet... Interesting first year for Hogan -- they hit some bumps in the road and changed a few things. They're in some retail stores now - which they said they weren't planning on doing. Outlets include the PGA SuperStore, Edwin Watts, 2nd Swing, Golf and Ski Warehouse in New England, and a few others.... So, what are your thoughts on Hogan's first year, and expectations for year 2?
  9. Business travel has its advantages -- paying a visit to the Ben Hogan Co. HQ this morning. Will be meeting with Jeff Harris, their director of marketing...let me know if you have any questions for him...
