  2. (4) TESTERS WANTED PING Glide 2.0 Wedges Can PING's new wedges change your short game? For most golfers, the search for a new short game begins and ends with Vokey, Cleveland or Callaway – the Holy Trinity of Wedges. PING feels its new Glide 2.0 wedges should be part of that conversation, thanks to new sole grinds, improved groove technology and spin-preserving hydrophobicity (look it up). Add a host of no-upcharge shaft options and PING's legendary color-coded customization and you have a wedge the company feels belongs on the main stage. Testers Wanted! As you know, MyGolfSpy never takes an OEM's word for anything. We believe in #datacratic testing, and #PowerToThePlayer isn't just a hashtag, it's a mission statement. We want to see if the new PING Glide 2.0's can indeed turn the Big Three into the Fab Four, and we need your help to find out. MyGolfSpy is looking for 4 avid golfers with a passion for their short game to test (and keep) a customized 3-wedge set of the new Glide 2.0 wedge, and then share their findings with the MyGolfSpy Community. How To Apply: We take our product testing very seriously here at MyGolfSpy, so if you'd like to test and review the new PING Glide 2.0 wedges, please read and follow these instructions carefully: First, if you haven't already, you must register for the MyGolfSpy Community Forum (click here to sign up) Next, tell us: Your first name Hometown/State/province Strength & weakness of your short game The PING Glide 2.0 specs for a 3-wedge set that best fit your game (visit PING's website here) It's that simple! We'll announce the testers in this thread next week. Good luck!! Also, for new members - it'll behoove you to read up on "How Product Testers Will Be Chosen."(click here) A profile picture and Forum participation are essential!
  3. Hey guys, wanted to take a minute to introduce to y'all - STICKSWAP. My buddy and I created this golf club marketplace so people like you could easily buy & sell used clubs. Just like eBay, but just clubs. Also, we'll be spending money on advertising to make sure your clubs get seen, and ultimately sold. Check it out and let me know what you think. - www.stickswap.co Best, Mike
  4. You are about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. There's a signpost up ahead – your next stop? The Crossover Zone. PING Golf is many things, but satisfied with the status quo isn't one of them. PING offers some of the easiest to hit long irons and hybrids on the market, and with every new offering they always have a compelling story to tell. This year's G line, from driver to pitching wedge, is loaded with technology PING believes will make the game a boatload easier and more fun to play. The CrossoverYou first read about PING's new Crossover on MyGolfSpy back in January. PING says it combines the precision, workability and control of an iron with the speed and forgiveness of a hybrid, but you can't quite call it a “hybrid-iron.” Oh, and don't go thinking it's a driving iron because according to PING it's NOT – it says so on their website and they've told us so many times – they say it launches higher, is way more forgiving and way more versatile than a driving iron. Is this a club you need in your bag? Are you one of the unfortunates who can hook virtually any hybrid made off the face of the planet? Do long irons scare you to the point that you want to curl up in the fetal position in the middle of the 8th fairway and cry “Mommy?” Or would you just like something that's easier to hit and more accurate? If you're any one of those listed above, we might be able to help. MyGolfSpy Wants You!We want to put PING's Crossover clubs to the test, and we need your help to do it. We're looking for four intrepid and energetic golfers to test and review PING's new creation and tell us if these things really are as precise, workable, controllable and forgiving as PING claims. Are these the real deal? Is the Crossover a reliable replacement for a long iron? Will it fit seamlessly between your longest iron and hybrid or fairway wood? Are they just as easy to hit as a hybrid, but stay in the same zip code as your target? Real golfers want to know. How To Apply:We need four folks to try out and review these new Crossovers, which PING will build to your specifications and to fit into your existing set. To apply, please tell us the following:: First name Home state Current handicap Current long iron/hybrid, plus shaft and flex This is an exciting opportunity for you to test out and review one of 2016's more unique niche products. Could it be the one that helps your long game? We want you to let us know! For more information: Visit the PING website Like PING on Facebook Follow PING on Twitter Subscribe to PING on Instagram
  5. So have you had the chance to read up on the new PING Fairway woods, hybrids and crossovers? Some personal observations -- I've never found a hybrid I couldn't hook off the planet, and the new G hybrid fits that mold...although they are easy to hit and when I did keep the face open I really liked the ball flight. My favorite club of the trip was the Stretch 3 Fairway wood...that thing was a friggin' mawnsta! There's a VERY good chance one of those might find its way into the bag this year. It was GREAT off the tee and remarkably easy to hit off the deck. I had gamed a Cally 2Deep and while I loved it off the tee, hitting it off the deck was an adventure. This guy was FUN to hit! The other star of the show was the Crossover - as T says, it's NOT a driving iron. PING made sure to tell us that several times -- it's NOT a driving iron. You know what? It's not -- it can be, but its pretty easy to hit off the turf. For guys like me who hook hybrids to Hoboken, it's an intriguing alternatives. 6. So PING is releasing an upgrade to the G30 driver. Does this surprise you? It's been 18 months... PING doesn't generally release a new driver just to release a new driver. I may have been in the minority in that I was not a fan of the G30 at all...but the G? I liked it a lot when we were there... One never knows... Here's the link -- check it out and report back! http://www.mygolfspy.com/ping-g-driver/
  7. PING is releasing its new G iron today -- no numbers, just "G." They're promising more distance, but from I could tell during our visit, they're promising more distance than the G30 -- they never said anything about EXPLOSIVE distance. They did give compelling reasons why hitting an 8 iron from 165 is better than hitting a 6 iron from 165 - and the Hyper 17-4 Technology is pretty darned cool. They basically "invented" a new material by patenting a heat-treat process that gives an old material (17-4 SS) some pretty cool properties. Anyway, check out the blog post here, and report back with your thoughts!
