  1. Testers Wanted (4) Feel, while very subjective, is an important aspect of golf clubs for most golfers. Soft for one player is mushy for someone else, while firm to some can be considered harsh to others. For those firmly in the firm camp (yes, that was intentional), the PING Heppler may be for you. Offered in the same models as the flagship Sigma line, Heppler is a machined solid flat face that provides a firmer impact feel and sound. All this comes in a stunning black and copper finish that provide effective alignment cues. Want to be a Tester We’re looking for
  2. First Topic post - Driver has left this conversation My biggest error, maybe some of yall can relate, is getting off the tee box in prime location. I honestly feel like my mid iron and short iron game is decent. no real big misses, skulls, chunks, etc. But when it came to me using my driver, it was hot and cold off the tees. I decided to leave it in the bag one round to see how well I could do without it and my fellow spys, I shot my lowest recorded score of 81! I would tee off with my 3 wood, hybrid and 4 iron through out the round and didn't find myself in any real big trouble that roun
  3. 12 Testers Wanted! It's not often we have Forum Testing opportunities during the winter time. But then again, It's not often we have an OEM present us with an opportunity for our members to participate in "White Box Ball Testing", and that's what we have here. Many of you as devoted golf geeks probably are well aware of that companies from time to time send out a yet to be released ball with no information about it, and ask you to play it, and report back what you think about it.These are called White Box Testings, as the balls come in non-descript white sleeves. There is no marketing
  4. This is a question for anyone who has tested/reviewed a club here on the forum. When you played your club or used whatever you were testing, at your home course or anywhere else for that matter, did any inquire about it and lead to them purchasing it to the best of your knowledge? This isn't to report back to any OEM's, it's just something that I have been wondering about. After all, not only do the products we test get thorough reviews here, but probably just as important they get real world live trials in front of other golfers. As for 2019 test, I was part of the Ping Lon

  6. I am going out on a stretch with this one... When we all buy new golf clubs or are in the market for a new club (testing), we head over to our local shop (Dicks Sports, Edwin Watts, PGA Superstore, etc) and request to try the clubs out in the bay with the launch monitors. Of course, how well is the new club going to compare to our existing club. In my personal experience, the employees in the shops always seem annoyed when you ask to try out clubs in the bays; more so if you are a lefty such as myself. That means they have to move the launch monitor sensor to the other side of the mat .
  7. To whomever came up with the idea to split the forum member review and forum member application thread, you are wise beyond your years. Thanks for ending the clutter!
  8. We want to invite MyGolfSpy forum members to be part of a exclusive closed BETA testing for a new technology we will soon be releasing. We are looking for golfers to take part in an early and unreleased version of a new site powered by MyGolfSpy. As a tester you will become a part of something we think will forever change the way consumers buy golf equipment. We are going to put the power back in the player's hand and make everything about one thing: performance. The days of marketing being more important than the actual performance of the clubs these consumers are buying, is over. Golf c

  10. I'm sure I'm behind the times as I haven't been on the forum much lately, and I know it's near blasphemy to mention that name here, but did anyone actually flip through the Golf Digest Hot List issue? I happened to be in the dentist office yesterday and saw a copy of it so I flipped through it. Their take on the Kirkland ball, along with their new testing policy that is eerily similar to MGS', were both...interesting. Maybe this has already been discussed, or not even worth talking about, but to me it was one more example at the lack of transparency across all media. I hope MGS continu
  11. Dean Snell knows golf balls like Thomas Edison knew light bulbs. Dean has been designing golf balls for 25 years and owns 38 patents. Perhaps you've heard of some of them? Oh, like the Titleist ProV1? Or maybe the TaylorMade Penta TP, Tour Preferred/Tour Preferred X or the Project (a)? Yeah, those. The dude has his golf ball street cred. Snell has been marketing his own brand of golf balls direct to the consumer since the beginning of the year, and took “Best Overall” in MyGolfSpy's Direct-To Consumers Buyer's Guide last March. Here's what our reviewer had to say:
  12. A while back I had a chance to visit my local TM Performance Center and part of it was a driver fitting pitting my current gamer against a SLDR and this happened.... ROUND 1: Covert 9.5* set to draw with stock Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Black 50 Stiff VS. SLDR 9.5 set to draw with Fujikura’s Speeder 57g Stiff RESULTS: SLDR out gunned the Covert by a few yards ROUND 2: Covert 9.5* set to draw with stock Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Black 50 Stiff VS. SLDR 10.5 slight draw with Motore Speeder 6.3 67g Stiff RESULTS: BOOM! *Add 10% to yardages due to 90% balls used
