  1. This week they head southeast to Phoenix for what is considered the biggest party in professional golf. Originally started in 1932 as the Arizona Open and then renamed the Phoenix Open in 1935, it is the 5th oldest event on tour. The rowdy, well hydrated fans at the Waste Management (so appropriate) have become much of what makes this event. Now being touted as "the greatest show on grass" (umm... nah, not even close IMO), TPC Scottsdale always seems to look for ways to pump up the volume. Many of the top players are back to experience this unique venue. Brooks returns as the defending champion and attempts to become the 6th golfer to be a multiple winner of this event. Also, did you know that both Phil Mickelson and Mark Calcalvecchia share the event scoring record at a whopping -28? The now infamous hole #16 (the loudest hole in pro golf) Don't forget to pick your winner for this weeks pool https://runmypools.com/JRMPNWWF
  2. Golf podcast discussing Fed Ex playoffs and Fed Ex Cup predicted winner. We talk Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Daniel Berger, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka, Importance of putting in clutch moments vs. Long drives, Olympia Fields Major Conditions, lownscores, who madw the Tour Championship vs whom did not, and what we as amateur golfers are doing to get better. We make predictions and all three of have names that start with M. Boom. We love the PGA Tour. These guys are good. With guest Mohamad.
  3. Please take a listen. We called the winner in our predictions podcast here we break it down. Thoughts on PGA Championship Winner Collin Morikawa, can the tour do without Tiger being in contention in majors, the young guns of golf, Was TPC Harding Park a worthy venue? On Golf Talk with Brown Bear
  4. https://www.geoffshackelford.com/homepage/2019/1/30/koepka-on-pace-of-play-guys-are-already-so-slow-its-kind-of-embarrassing Not only is Brooks right, but I think it's only a matter of time before someone finally gets DeChambeau to pick up the pace and knock off the intentionally gamesmanship that he displays against his playing partners, by intentionally waiting to start his conversation with his caddie about whatever it is they talk about, until after the other guys have finished hitting. I mean, if you want to talk about air density and a thousand other things no one ever thinks about, fine, but all I think anyone is asking here is that you abide by the pace of play guidelines that the Tour has in place. Eventually the Tour has to buckle to the pressure if enough outside influences keep this topic as alive and well as it has been for some time now. I'm just surprised we have such a blatant horrible penalty on a non-issue with Haotong Li that gave him no advantage whatsoever, when pace of play actually does affect the other golfers on the course, not only in your group, but also behind you, as they wait on every shot because you are too busy crunching numbers on things no one besides you has a clue about or could care less about.
  5. Hello from Germany fellow MGS'ers!!! I wanted to share with you something I learned last week (and internet connection stinks here...I wanted to get this posted earlier). Michelob Ultra has a new promotion going that potentially gets you 95 cases of Mich Ultra for free (seriously...free). www.aroundonbrooks.com Follow the link, provide your information and agree T&C's AND to get texts sent to you...that's it. If Brooks makes a hole in one, you win. Nothing to lose here except missing out. Lastly, it's limited by state laws (contest is valid in MN I know) and you must be 21 to enter. Go get'em Brooks!!!
  6. We like to keep tabs on which equipment players are using out on Tour. Of course, the manufacturers are very tight lipped about announcing any particulars of any deal. Also, generally this information is kept extremely secret until the company can make the formal announcement, but sometimes rumors and photos of the pros practicing with their new gear. GARY WOODLAND Woodland, presently a Callaway staffer, is rumored to be making the move to TaylorMade for 2016. TaylorMade already has the best overall stable of players anchored by Dustin Johnson, Jason Day and Justin Rose. Even still, Woodland, currently the No. 60 golfer in the world, would be a nice addition to TMag. There have been recent rumors of photos taken with Woodland testing the M1 Driver during one of his recent practice sessions. BILLY HORSCHEL World No. 36, Billy Horschel, currently a Ping staffer is widely assumed to have already signed with Parsons Xtreme Golf for 2016. Notice that Horschel's headcovers already have the PXG logo stitched on them, and those appear to be PXG model 0311 irons peaking out of his Ping Staff Bag. The recent news comes on the heels of Davis Love III showing up at the RSM Classic with PXG equipment. Given these two most recent moves, and abundant swirling rumors, it appears that PXG may only getting started building their stable of players for 2016. Zach Johnson and Chris Kirk are two more big names that are rumored to possibly be making the move to PXG in 2016. ANIRBAN LAHIRI India's brightest golfing star, Anirban Lahiri, is presently a Cleveland/Srixon staffer. And judging by Cleveland's tweet, the 28-year-old Lahiri is going to be staying that way for a while. Lahiri, the No. 42 golfer in the world, joins Keegan Bradley and Graeme McDowell hoping to generate a resurgence for the Cleveland/Srixon brand in 2016. RUMORS - The following rumors are unsubstantiated: HAROLD VARNER III is rumored to be moving from Cleveland/Srixon and joining Callaway. BROOKS KOEPKA may be moving from Titleist to join the Nike stable. DUSTIN JOHNSON is rumored to have signed a contract with Under Armour staring in 2017. SERGIO GARCIA may also be defecting back to Titleist in 2016 after being spotted on the practice range with some Vokey wedges. Although he has recently denied these rumors via Social Media. Whoever does, and doesn't show up with new equipment, we will continue to investigate and speculate on the moves that players may, or may not be making in 2016. CLICK HERE to view the original post.
