The tour now heads to northern, CA for the ATT Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Located in Monterey/Carmel/Del Monte Forest/17 Mile Drive, it's one of the handful of iconic golf courses that even non-golfers will quickly name. I've heard many say they don't particularly like this event because of the celebrity pro-am format. As opposed to the typical practice round pairings, these amateurs play the first 54 holes with their pro. It's great for charity but does get a little distracting... especially Bill Murray's attire. Daniel Berger returns to defend his win from last year and he'll have an easier time doing so since many top ranked players are absent from the field. Understandably, the Dubai Desert Classic having an affect but I'm surprised more that played Torrey Pines chose to forgo this event. I wonder if their decision is partly based on the format? Will Zalatoris is making the trek north and, after the heartbreak loss this week, will no doubt be looking to make amends. Let's just hope he dosen't draw Bill Murray . Don't forget to select your winner for the event in the weekly pool https://runmypools.com/JRMPNWWF

Well, quick on the heels of Phil's history making victory at the PGA Championship, we move onto the Charles Schwab Challenge. They do everything in Texas big... such as this piece of hardware and the royal tartan plaid jacket - a tradition that started in 1952. Another interesting tradition is that the past years champion gets to select two deserving young players to participate in the event. Al Geiberger, Tom Weiskopf, Craig Stadler, Curtis Strange, Jordan Speith and others made their first ever PGA Tour event appearance as a result of these invitations. 1946 marked the start of the event and Ben Hogan was the first winner (he won it 5 times)... pretty amazing history with so many of these tour events. Daniel Berger returns to defend his 2020 win along with a pretty strong cast of players. I was amazed to see Phil listed but would not be surprised if he withdraws. But we're talking Phil here, so who knows? I've got 6 of my FTx squad in and going to stay with Jordan getting back to form after a bit of a lull. Who ya got?
