I'm guessing most are unaware that I was asked by the forum staff, late in the 2019/20 season, to be the PGA Event sub forum focal - principally create threads each week covering the seasons scheduled events. I created a few at the start of the 2021/22 season but it seemed the interest and participation was low - no doubt competing with the holiday season, hunting season, and... well let's face it... pro golf fan exhaustion (even we most ardent fans need a break ). The staff is checking on a couple of "spice it up" options we discussed and those need to be vetted with HQ. They may or may not get the nod so, in the mean time, I'm going to sponsor a PGA Tour Event Contest that affords winners some prizes and, more important, bragging rights. Each week, forum members have until midnight before the event starts to name who they think will win the event. You must also provide total number of birdies for the player you choose (closest to tie breaker). Any ties from there will go into the "spin the wheel" app (ala Fantasy Draft order) to decide that week's event winner. This gives you that weeks trophy and bragging rights. If no one picks the weeks winner, that week is a bust. Every month, the weekly winners will go onto the wheel for a spin and one will get the mystery prize. The first event will be the Farmers Insurance Open, which coincides with the start of our Fantasy Golf League, and conclude at the Tour Championship Eastlake. I'm a long time tour junkie and like the forum discussions and bantering as happenings unfold throughout the season. Hopefully the contest will bring more folks into the event threads and add a little spice... cause we all like fun competition and prizes.
