With the release of the USGA/R&A Distance Report this week, it seems the perfect time to offer a review of a shaft that is designed for....guess what...more club head speed. The Fujikura Motore X shafts hit stores this week, and even debuted in the bag of at least one PGA Tour Pro at the Waste Management. You can read all the details of the new shaft on the home page in this first look piece by My Golf Spy's Chris Nickel, to see how Fujikura says they are able to "Multiply" a drivers swing speed. Read it Here Will it work for you? Well that's what we're going to ask five forum members--that reside in the United States--- to test for themselves and report back to the forum on the results The five testers will go through a phone fitting with a Fujikura fitter to determine the best model for them. They will then receive the shaft put it through paces on the range--Ideally with a launch monitor access--and on the course over several weeks, track and monitor the results versus their current gamer, then write and publish their full length review here on the forum. Testers will be required to keep up an ongoing dialogue in the review thread while testing the shaft. Once the testers are selected and most likely during the phone fitting, you will be asked what driver head you are using, and the shaft will be sent with the adapter for that head, you will be all set to put it on and go test!! How to Apply to Enter Read ALL the details below and enter your information in a post in this thread. PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THIS POST IN YOUR REPLY. JUST PROVIDE THE INFO REQUESTED. Testing is for US Residents per the OEM's request. First Name/State Current Driver Shaft Current Driver Swing Speed What if anything would you like to improve in regards to your driver shaft..such as more or less spin, better dispersion, more distance..etc. Do you have regular access to a Launch Monitor--Not required, but would be helpful in testing. That's it, we'll be selecting the testers sometime late next week. Good Luck!
I'm a college player in the southern part of Connecticut. When I'm in school in the midwest, we work with Miles of Golf in Ann Arbor, MI to get fittings. I want to find a place where I can hit several driver shafts without having to pay $125 for a fitting. (College-Friendly fitting places) Any suggestions on locations? Fujikura, Folds of Honor create Patriot Edition shafts May 25, 2015 By Jonathan Wall, PGATOUR.COM Fujikura's Pro shaft is a mid-launch, low-spin model that features a softer handle. (Jonathan Wall/PGA TOUR) Two of Fujikura's most popular shafts (Fuel and Pro) are now available in limited edition red, white and blue graphics. To give back to military families, Fujikura teamed up with The Folds of Honor Foundation to create a special Patriot Edition shaft, with 10 percent of all proceeds benefiting the foundation. Fujikura's Pro shaft is a mid-launch, low-spin model that features a softer handle and stiffer mip and tip section that allow players to load the club and get more feel during the transition. The bend profile for Pro came about with the help of ENSO, Fujikura's 3D motion capture system that has 10 cameras and is capable taking images at a rate of 2,000 frames per second, allowing it to analyze how every part of the club is behaving and reacting during the swing. Pro also has Fujikura's H.I.T. technology (High Inertia Tip) — weight is taken out of the tip to increase inertia — in the tip that stores energy during the downswing and releases the energy just before impact. To make up for the loss of weight in the tip, a maximum carbon fiber content material called "Cage" was added to the tip for increased stability. Fujikura Fuel, launched in 203, is a low-launch, low-spin model that combines the company's Fuel R.O.D. Technology — housed inside a combustion chamber — with a Load-Injector Tip that channels the shaft's energy through the R.O.D. to the club head. The technology gives golfers a tighter dispersion and a softer feel than some of Fujikura's low-launch, low-spin shafts. Dustin Johnson used a 70-gram Fuel in his TaylorMade R1 driver to win the 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Patriot Edition Pro and Fuel shafts are available through select Fujikura Charter Dealers.
