  6. One of the most popular brands on the PGA Tour Champions is Tour Edge, and the hottest new line from them is the EXS Pro which is finding it's way into the bags of several players. The EXS Pro Hybrid is billed as an Anti-left hybrid. Will that work for four MGS Members as well as it has for the likes of Scott McCarron and Tom Lehman. Well follow along here for the next several weeks as the following forum members will be putting these through a full workout on the range and on the course. Testers: @ncwoz Official Review @The 19th Hole Official Review @Zen Snake Official Review @zrumble Official Review
  7. Is it possible to hit a stinger with a low lofted hybrid? The specific club I am wanting to try this with is a GAPR Mid 3. It's a shot idea I'd like to try and will actually try to do this Friday morning at a driving range unless I get a consensus of it being impossible.

  9. Testers ANNOUNCED! The testers are: @ncwoz @The 19th Hole @Zen Snake @zrumble Full announcement here: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/38954-testers-wanted-4-tour-edge-hybrid-exs-pro-hybrid/?do=findComment&comment=644873 ______________________________________________________________________________________ One of the most frequent complaints you hear from better players about hybrids, is that they are "hook machines" no matter what some players just can't keep them from going left-for right handed golfers. While hybrids and their natural tendency to go left is a blessing for most high handicappers, it can be a big turnoff to the better player, and keeps them from putting a higher lofted club in their bag for those long approaches. The compact head and deep face design is the preferred shape for better players and helps with a penetrating flight. To fine tune in your flight, the hybrids come with two adjustable weights a 5g and 20g weight that can be positioned for maxim fade or draw bias depending on your preference. Perhaps one of the most unique things about this line is that it comes in single lofts all the way from 16 to 22 degrees, so you can really choose the ideal loft for the gap you are looking to fill, as most companies offer them in 3 or 4 degree gaps. How To Apply Per the OEM's instructions, this testing is open to Right Handed golfers that reside in the United States In a post in this thread please provide the following information...AND DO NOT QUOTE this post when replying! First Name / State of Residence Handicap Current Hybrid in Play What is the most important thing to you in a hybrid That's it. Good luck to everyone. We'll be selecting the testers sometime in the next week.
  10. I have been wanting to fill the gap between my 4 iron and 3 wood. I need something that is either 19 Degree or 20 Degree hybrid or driving iron...... open to suggestions..... I mainly want it for off the tee, a club I can use to confidently hit the fairway. Any suggestions on what i should get?

  12. Testers Announced! These are the forum members who will be testing the Tour Edge Exotics CBX 119 Hybrid: @fozcycle @MattF @bens197 @dhartmann34 ______________________________________________________ Hybrids have long been a love/hate club for many players. Many love them and the forgiveness they offer, and many hate them for their tendency to hook. Finding the perfect or even dependable hybrid is often an ever going process for many players. It's also not one you see a lot on the PGA Tour. But if you have spent any time watching the PGA Tour Champions over the past couple months, you no doubt have noticed two things. 1) A big tour presence by Tour Edge, in not only it's well established fairway woods, but more recently the Exotics CBX hybrid popping up in the bags of Scott McCarron and others. The club has been vital to McCarron as he has won two events in the last three weeks. What makes this hybrid so attractive, well we'll if a picture is worth 1,000 words, then a video must be worth at least 2,000. So see for yourself So there it is, we're looking for four testers to test, review and keep a Tour Edge Excotics CBX 119 hybrid of your choice. Follow the instructions below. Per the OEM's request this testing is open to Right Handed Golfers in the US. Do Not Quote this post in your entry: Doing so may lead to disqualification. Provide the following information: First Name/City, State Handicap/SS Current hybrid model Played What loft you think you would choose and why We'll be picking the testers sometime next week so check back to see if you've been selected. Good Luck!!
  13. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS FOR BEING SELECTED...STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO FROM ME @revkev @TSauer @PAgolfer2017 @mr.hicksta Sit Down This is A Big One!! What's your most effective club after your last iron and before your driver, 4-hybrid, 5 wood, utility iron? And how does that club fit with the rest of your clubs in that gap? Were you fit for it? Well according to the people I met with at PING at the PGA Show, most golfers don't pay as much attention to this area as they pay to the driver, irons and putter. Sure it may not be as thrilling as a driver fitting, and being covered up with head covers they may not bring the attention to your bag that shiny new irons do. But properly fit and gapped, they absolutely will save strokes in your long game. So we are looking for four testers to join myself in putting the latest line of PING G410 fairway-woods/hybrids/crossovers to test to see how they help improve your long game. Which clubs will you be testing? Well that's where part of the real fun comes in. Once selected, the testers will be set up with a FREE fitting by the local rep or an authorized top fitter in the area, for the gap between driver and irons. When the fitter has determined the setup those specs will be sent to PING and you will receive the clubs to test/review and keep. It's imperative that anyone that applies for this testing, understands and agrees that they will receive exactly what the fitter recommends, and not what you think you'd prefer or think you'd be more comfortable with. If you're not willing to put your trust in the hands of professional fitters, than this testing isn't for you. So put all egos aside and go into the fitting open minded. I know I did exactly that and was quite surprised and even more pleased at the results. I'll share my experiences and setup once the testing has begun. Also just want everyone to know, while the recent partnership announcement between PING and Arccos is very exciting, they will not be an option for this this testing. How to apply. This is important, so please follow these instructions carefully: 1. If you haven't already, make sure you're a registered MyGolfSpy Forum member 2. In this thread (and ONLY in this thread - please don't go back to the blog and apply - it won't do you any good!), tell us the following: - Your first name - City/State - Your swing speed and handicap - Your current setup of FW/Hybrid/Utility,....for example: 17* Utility iron, 5 wood, 4 hybrid Right Hand or Left Hand This review opportunity is open to any golfer who resides in the US (due to fitting logistics). We'll be announcing the testers in this thread next week, so make sure to check back. Please do not 'quote' this post when applying...

  18. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues with the Mizuno CLK hybrid: Backstory: I've never really had a hybrid that I liked (previously had a Nike Vr Covert, Ping i15), I came across the club at the beginning of the season and loved the shape and it demo'd very nicely on the launch monitor. Picked up with the Speeder evo x flex (same as my driver and 3 wood, so I thought that would be a nice consistency). The club is great off the tee, but here are my issued though through a season of play: (1) I've found the ball flight to be quite low (I'm a high ball hitter), and two of my playing partners (also high ball hitters) have hit this against their hybrids and the trajectory is just much flatter with the Mizuno; (2) I've had mixed results at best when hitting this club from the rough; one of the main reason I bought was because the weight and head design seemed like it would be able to get down and through rough, but I feel like it keeps getting held up, so I've been opting for 5 iron layups from long distance.
  19. Hi Everyone, Just recently joined MyGolfSpy as a member, having read online for a long while! Hoping some people can give me some advice/guidance after just realising at the weekend what a waste of a club my current hybrid is... I currently play a Cobra F7 3 wood (15.5 degrees) then have an RBZ Stage 2 5 Hybrid which is 25 degrees, then into my irons 4,5,6 etc. So I probably have too big a gap between my wood and hybrid. Then, I play mostly links golf, so a high-flying hybrid isn't really much use in the constant wind of North East England and it doesn't fly as far as a well-struck four-iron either. Does anyone have any guidance on what hybrid might be the best fit between a 3 wood and a 4 iron? Would there be enough distinction between a 3 wood and a 3 hybrid? Cheers, Sam

Brand new Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 815 18 degree hybrid, Motore Speeder 865 stiff shaft, New Decade MCC grip, Head Cover and original packaging Hit this club one time on the range with masking tape over the original head plastic. Removing the masking tape peeled off the shrink wrap on the head. SINCE THEN THE CLUB HAS NOT BEEN HIT. Face is mint, not a scratch anywhere. Club is an absolute rocket launcher but doesn't gap well with my current setup Would consider trade for a 2015 or newer driver. Will ship anywhere in USA or Canada
  24. I struggle hitting my 3 wood off the deck and was thinking of substituting it with a 2 hybrid (around 17 degrees or less). Has anyone taken the 3 wood out of the bag and replaced it with a hybrid? Would I really be losing that much distance? Seems like I would be able to play the hybrid out of more lies. My 3 hybrid, 19 degrees, is about 10 yards short of the distance I need it to be for reaching par 5s in two.
