I poked around and searched this sub forum for a thread about comparing various shafts. No doubt there has been one and I'm missing it. I see many graph charts that compare shafts and want to know if there is a source that most find reliable. I understand the issue with shafts not being all that standardized within the industry - making direct comparisons challenging - but suspect (or hope) there is a source that is reliable. I'm currently playing AWT 2.0 and was also fitted for Project X 5.5. I'm considering buying a used set of I500's and it would be helpful to have a shaft comparison tool or chart to see if other make/model shafts are equivalent (or real close).

I got fit into my MP-25s back in 2016 and they have True Temper S300s 105g in all of them. Since then, I’ve gotten stronger and feel like my swing speed made a big jump. I recently was fit into X Stiff (frequency 6.5) in my driver and woods, and figure I should give it a try for my irons as well. Lately I’ve been struggling to feel where the iron head is at. Any recommendations on shafts to look into?

Great forum, great community, and I am sure one of the knowledgeable members has come across this question before (or, can point me in the right direction). I have used the search bar some to pin point this topic to some effect, but haven't come across the answer that satisfies my curiosity. I already know and understand a dynamic fitting and static fitting work best for shaft fitting and it's hard to beat a good (and patient) fitter. My question pertains to online iron shaft fitting/recommendations from most of the shaft manufacturers and/or online fitting services: How relevant is a question regarding iron distance (say, 6i carry) when your current 6i loft and the set you are interested in purchasing is different? I could ,theoretically, hit my 6i 170 yards using a 26* loft but only hit my buddies 6i 155 yards using 29*...these are just relative numbers to express a questionable point... with all other variables being the same (relatively speaking) but loft. My interpretation of the line of questions for iron shaft recommendation is that it is generating results based on flight and dispersion preferences along with swing speed/power/carry distance. However, if my current 6i is 26* and is allowing me to move the ball 170yds down the fairway, how good is the online fitting tool going to be if the new set I am interested in has a more traditional loft to it? Am I totally off base in this line of thinking? Are the manufacturers shaft recommendations useless? Again, I apologize if this has already been discussed ad nauseam. Happy golfing!

I recently swapped my Project X 6.5’s for a set of 5.5’s. I did keep the 7i shaft as it had been repaired after bending it around a tree. Its new home is in an old Wilson 2i. I digress, I want to sell these shafts. I have 4,5,6,8,9,PW with grips, Lamkin 3 gen ACE that have been played but are in good shape. The shafts have ferrules but I recommend dressing them up with new ferrules if you have the opportunity. Here’s some pics. I’ll start at $100 shipped within the lower 48. Thanks for looking. I’ll be playing at Sweetens this weekend so I may be out of touch. I’ll check in when I can to answer questions.

Ok so I consider myself relatively knowledgeable about equipment and in particular shafts. But sometimes I'm not sure what differentiates one shaft from another and by how much. My knowledge is mostly of low launch stuff. The goal right now is to find something to go into the Hogan PTx irons. The KBS tourV 120x just feel really soft to me and aren't working out. This is going to be kind of difficult because I want super low launch and spin from 6i/7i-pw and something a little higher launch in the 4i/5i and maybe 6i. The flighted sets all seem to be too soft from what I understand and have tried. Not many high swing speed players want flighted shafts and while I probably don't need them, these irons may or may not(depending how testing goes) be in the bag for a long time to come so its worth it to look. I understand the the DG AMT aren't flighted and are just weight sorted and get heavier through the set so that may be an option. DG Pro sort of peaked my interest as well. What about DG black gold? Is that just an older version of DG pro? I don't know as much about some of the more exotic shaft options but I know Nippon Super Peening Blue have been recommended to me in the past. About me: SS with the driver is 120ish and 6i is around 100. Transition is on the faster side but working on it. Previous shafts that I've used that have worked well in the past are: PX 6.5/7.0 DGx100/X7 KBS Ctaper130x Any input would be helpful. And yes i'm definitely a tinkerer, I know.
