  7. This press release deserves it's own thread if for no other reason, it's the first announcement of a "new" product since the Pandemic Shutdown 6 weeks ago. Possible signs that the major OEM's are getting back to work! NEW CUSTOM WEDGE PROGRAM OFFERS THOUSANDS OF COMBINATIONS TO PERSONALIZE THE COMPANY’S LATEST WEDGE OFFERINGS CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 4, 2020) – TaylorMade Golf Company, an industry leader in innovation and technology, introduces the MyMG2 personalized wedge program. The company continues to grow its personalized offerings, with the latest installment in the TaylorMade “My” family joining MySpider X, MyHi-Toe and MySpider. The program is inspired by trends seen on the PGA Tour where players personalize wedges with stamping to display their unique personalities. TaylorMade is now giving all golfers the ability to make each wedge uniquely their own and deliver a service that has historically been reserved for the game’s top players. With Raw Face Technology and the Milled Grind sole, MG2 wedges are the ultimate in consistency and precision. With the new MyMG2, now you’re able to make it precisely your own. We offer a number of personalization options so you can design a wedge that’s truly unique to your game and your preferences. Bill Price, Senior Director of Product Creation, Putter & Wedge GOLFERS CAN SELECT FROM FOUR DIFFERENT FINISHES INCLUDING COBALT NICKEL, CHROME, BLACK AND RAW Cobalt Nickel: Exclusive to MyMG2, the Nickel finish provides a premium look and reduces glare at address. Chrome: The classic look of a chrome finish preferred by many golfers. Black: A darker, aggressive styling with a non-glare look at address. RAW Finish: This is an un-plated wedge that will rust – giving it the worn, rustic look preferred by many Tour athletes (extent and speed of rusting may vary). Custom stamping options include personalized text and initials, as well as dozens of images. Golfers choose from 13 different paint fills and complete the package by selecting the grip and shaft of their choice. Beyond personalized aesthetics, golfers can build the wedge to their precise specs by customizing loft, lie, length and grip size. FEATURES AND TECHNOLOGY Similar to the original Milled Grind wedges and also found in the P·7TW™ irons, MyMG2 wedges feature the company’s proven CNC milling technology, which allows for the production of wedges to exacting specifications. Each leading edge and sole grind is individually CNC milled for unparalleled accuracy and consistency from club to club and grind to grind. MyMG2 wedges are engineered to generate the most aggressive spin of any wedge in the TaylorMade family. The combination of precision-milling and Raw Face Technology is designed for increased spin, precision and feel. The face rusts over time to preserve consistent spin while the rest of the head maintains its original finish – in the case of the MyMG2 RAW wedge, the entire head will rust. MyMG2 is available now on www.taylormadegolf.com at a price of $225.

My signature has my up to date setup, including bag, preferred balls and current shoes....enjoy Full bag - Mizuno BRD-4 Cart bag in Gray / Red.....just waiting for spring / quarantine to be over to get fit again for new Mizuno irons!! WITB layout of bag contents...loving the ARCCOS caddie paired with my Apple Watch!! Decades old Slazenger Wrath irons 5-PW still in play until I get my hands on some quality Mizuno irons....got fit for JPX 919's last year but seeing the new MP-20 HMB's make me drool!! New Adidas Code Chaos shoes are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.....thinking about grabbing a second pair to switch on-off to keep them fresh!! Upgraded the 3W to a SIM Max 15 deg this year......man this thing is a WEAPON from 200 yards Replaced the Driver early last season with the M5 9 deg tuned down to 7 deg after a great fitting with Club Champion Even though I have always had a good feeling for putting, upgrading to the Odyssey Stroke Lab 7 has given me the extra bit of confidence when on the green!! 12. Seeing heavy marketing for the 2nd gen CBX wedges from cleveland. Many other manufacturers have come out with models similar to these. I just don't see the cavity on a wedge doing much. Anyone have cavity back wedges or has given them a try? Are they worth the hype?

  17. Alright everyone, here's my WITB for 2020: Umbrella - I usually don't have it in the bag, but for these pics & the sketchy weather in the north east right now. Its in the bag. I recently purchased some Srixon iron heads & some KBS $Taper 130x shafts, so i'm going to be giving those a whirl when the shafts come in! Pumped for the weather to start turning so we can get on the course more than once/wk! Also the putt out mat & putting trainer is awesome, def worth the investment, my putting has dramatically improved & my consistency is much better! I just purchased the mirror to take to the course and work on my putting stroke, looking forward to even more positive feedback!

  22. I think a lot of people will enjoy this podcast/interview with DJ done by Paul Trottie from the TaylorMade Tour Van. Everyone gives DJ a hard time for being low key and not very enthusiastic in his post round interviews. Here he really opens up a bit more, and you find out he's just an equipment nerd like most of us. It was fun to hear his thoughts on putters and the Truss in particular...you'll have to listen yourself to find out what he thinks. https://www.taylormadegolf.com/podcasts/20811-on-course-quirks-and-giving-back-to-those-in-need-with-dustin-johnson.html?lang=default
  23. Hi all. I'm new here. Largely drawn to the site due to the fact that this is one of the most truthful, "down-to-Earth" golfing forums I could find (I'm being forcibly humble here, it is easily the best). Product reviews remind me somewhat of Top Gear, but without the cars, the same people, the studio, the guest sections and add golf. So it's not like Top Gear at all. Trust me, I know what I mean. Blunt, unbiased feedback. Anywho, this brings me onto my question for the day. I am relatively new to the game, and I am 19 years old. I am also, like 98% of new golfers, now in the market for a set of game-improving irons. Looking to go even more mainstream than that, and grab myself something TaylorMade too. Been looking at both the TM Speedblade, and the TM M2 irons. I am unsure as to which one I should purchase. Everything I can find on the Speedblade says they are very good, and everything I can find on the M2 says they are very good also. But, I'm not sure whether due to technological advancements, what is a "very good" club now, would have been a "stupidly incredible amazing" club if they'd been around at the same time as the Speedblade clubs. So, I am curious if anyone has hit both and to let me know some key differences/recommendations, or if anybody has some key points in regards to these two irons also. Please keep money/cost out of the equation. Regardless of which I purchase, I'll be taking the same lessons at the same course with the same trainer. Just curious which clubs would carry more benefit for me. Regards, and thanks for reading my novel, Daniel.
  24. Notching his 2nd win on Tour and first since the 2015 Sanderson Farms Championship, TaylorMade staffer Nick Taylor has a mix of old and new equipment in his bag. He also has something very unique in the setup below. Taylor also is the first ever wire to wire winner of the event. NICK TAYLOR M2 (17) 9.5 Fujikura Atmos Blue Tour Spec 6X SIM 15.0 Fujikura Ventus Black 7X SIM Max 4 iron P770 4-5 P750 6-PW Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 (all irons) MG Hi-Toe 52, 56 & 60 Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 Spider Tour TP5 The unique thing? This from Ryan Lauder of TaylorMade. Nick Taylor's SIM Max 4 iron (from our Tour team): It's 2 iron length and has 21 degrees of loft. It was originally 19 degrees, but was going too far, so we added some more loft. He hits it "Rescue distance", but controls the trajectory better and hits it super straight.
