  1. TRUE Linkswear Game Changer Pro By now, most all of the shoe manufacturers in golf have their 2015 line-up's available at retail. 2015 has proven itself as The Year of the Shoe. Manufacturers across the spectrum are producing remarkable offerings and advancements in shoemaking. Founded in 2009, True Linkswear was really born on the internet. Players across the golf forum communities were going bananas over the ugliest shoe ever made. Clown shoes, bowling shoes, bedroom slippers, were some of the early descriptors that emerged about this startup shoe company out of Scottsdale. As ugly as they were, no one cared. Why? Many believed they were not only the most comfortable shoe in golf, but the most comfortable shoe ever made. Unorthodox in design, True's were wider than standard shoes so your toes could move freely about the toe box. They were built on a barefoot platform popularized in the fitness industry featuring “zero-drop.” This meant your heel and forefoot were the same distance off the ground like they are when you are barefoot. According to True, and everyone that put them on, this created a more natural stride and connection with the ground during the movements of the golf swing. Over the past six years, True Linkswear has grown into a nice little shoe company. Like most start-up's, there have been some growing pains, and leadership changes. However, 2015 has proven to be their strongest shoe line-up to date. Oh, and they've thrown in a little wrinkle into the mix, they're offering a shoe with changeable spikes. Prior to 2015, True Linkswear has only offered a “spikeless” or “fixed-spike” design. At the 2015 PGA Show, the company unveiled the first pair of removable “spiked” shoes. The Game Changer Pro is born after two years in the making and feedback from the professional tours. True Linkswear went back to the drawing board, and developed a shoe that combined everything that worked over the past six years, and the crap that didn't was scrapped. The focused on the outsole, and developed a product with both stability as well as comfort. True hired a biomechanical engineer and produced a technology they're calling, Perpetual Motion or “P-Motion.” P-Motion sits in the mid-sole of the shoe and according to True, produces unrivaled comfort, increases power, absorbs shock, improves stability, and enhances balance. It's a compound in the middle of the shoe that will not form a memory and will provide that out of the box cushion feel every time you put them on. They even made some clear, see-through windows on the bottom of the sole, so you can visually see the technology. This technology was created out of necessity. You can't take a zero-drop platform, with hardly any material between the ground and your foot, and put traditional spikes on them. It would create pressure on your foot, and would be uncomfortable. The result, according to True, is the thinnest, and most flexible spiked shoe in the industry. 2. True Linkswear is set to launch their 2016 line this Tuesday, February 16. Since 2010, these have been my go to shoe because of their comfort and width. I really feel True should relaunch the originals that put them on the barefoot map. Anyway, all that we have so far are these teaser photo's. I requested some pics and details. So far, we have a shoe that seems to have been inspired by the elements themselves.

  5. Greetings I see a lot of products over the year, much of it gets covered in reviews such as the Holiday Buyers Guides, Ball Guides or Speed Reviews, but I think it's important to let you guys know what stays in the bag or hasn't survived the test of time. This is the 2015 MBP Gear in Play thread. Featured are 22 products that are bag fixtures, I continue to scrutinize or just new pending some sort of review. I've listed a brief overview of each with general comments, but I'm starting this thread to open up each one for questions and discussion. So ask away, or maybe even leave your own impressions of a product listed here. Look forward to hearing from you guys. ACCESSORIES Best Grips Drivershoes and Puttershoes I'm constantly asked at the range; course etc where I got the driver cover. It's a serious head turner. Feels and smells like genuine leather Takes a beating an holds up well after over a year's use Soft internal lining Stitch Golf Covers The leather is good; although not quite as plush as I've seen Looks are really nice in person with nice detail and great color selection Internal lining is very thin and doesn't imply luxury Tight fit on large driver heads Garmin Approach S6 Mrs. MBP swears by the easy to read plethora of data Comfortable on wrist Data is quite accurate when verified against my laser GRIPS Best Grips Microperf I love grabbing the water bottle, soaking the grip and handing them to someone to see their “Holy crap it's even tackier!” reaction. Super tacky Love the feel of leather The stitching down the back isn't for everyone 2015 Pure Grips DTX and P2 Wraps I wasn't a fan of previous generation pure grips. They always felt as if they were dusty and instilled not confidence of not flying out the hands. Much tackier than before Comfortable with good feedback DTX tend to twist in the textured areas a little SHOES Biion I reviewed these last year and immediately fell in love. Yes, I've suffered through my detractors who I still call friend with comments like “Take off those Rubbermaid shoes”, but I continue to wear them. Super comfortable No smell after (serious I stuck my nose in) Quick and convenient to throw on and go (driving is fine) Great traction ECCO Biom Very sturdy, stable feeling Wide fit whether that's a good or bad thing – good for me Awesome toe protection – can wear on range mats without wearing out Footjoy DNA They hug and mold to your feet with their cool fitfoam system. I wasn't expecting this kind of support and will admit my feet ached for the first hour I wore them. By the end of that days round I was sold on their comfort. Fit to size Super comfy Really good traction Nike Lunar Control 3 Just took them out of the box, more to come Wide toe box Went a half size up for best fit True Linkswear Gent Wingtips Well don't I look all fancy! Fit wide Scuff easily Sole peeled back on first pair in 8 rounds BALLS From the Direct to Consumer Ball Guide 3UP, Lightning, Monsta, Nicklaus and Snell These balls all compete on a tour level but there are a few shining stars. Snell Very controlled spin Bombs off driver Feels great Nicklaus Crazy low bombing driver spin Solid feel Really good wedge touch/Spin TaylorMade Project A They claim it's like a Pro V 1 and they're pretty close. Sweet soft feel Mid-flight trajectory Surprising spin CLUBS Ping G30 Driver This club is all shaft dependent for me to ensure I keep the spin down. I've gone with a 73g Paderson and so far so good. Accurate Predictable ball flight Freakin loud Nike Vapor Pro For those who like to hit non-ballooning, line-drive bullets. I've had this driver one weekend and I look for every excuse to hit it. Talk about a perfect fit for me stock with the Diamana S+ shaft. Mishits carry much further than what I'm used to Really accurate Great soft feel face Flat trajectory TaylorMade Rsi2 Irons Love these Straight Mishits carry better Feel is really nice for a GI with forge faces Titleist 915 HD Hybrids Yes it's dirty, but you needed to see how often I use it. I look for a reason to hit hybrid because of this club. I will mention I'm test driving a Paderson Hybrid shaft in this one and the combination is great. Accurate Workable Feels good Ping Ketsch 352% more accurate from 5 feet? Yup 8 feet and in seems automatic I find it tough to adjust to for lag putting SHAFTS Paderson Irons I've got a thread already that I need to update with a mini review, but I will say these are the straightest damn iron shafts I've ever played. Distance is good, not phenomenal Good feedback Strong but smooth Great flat trajectory So there you they are, a bevy of goodies for us to discuss.
