I figured I'd start the unoffiical review on this club instead of posting all of it inthe TSR Launch thread. It will probably be more helpful to everyone here. So I receivede the TSR 2 Driver and Fairway wood on Friday. I'll focus on the Driver here, and trhe fairway wood to come later. Who Am I: Most on here know I'm a member of the MOD Staff, formely Co-Director of the Forum, but still help out with some general staff duties. Most also know, I've been known to try a club or two throughout the course of a year, and maybe even keep said club or two As for my game, I'm currently at 16.6 handicap. I'm 62 years old and generally play the Senior Tees--5700-5900 yards. My swing speed hovers between 81-83 mph, but read on for some possible surprise increases. My driver distance for most of the year has been pedestrian at best. Ball Speed 117 to 120, Carry 179 to 184, Total distance 190 to 205. Again, read on for some surprising resuls! This year I have played the Stealth 10.5 with the stock Ventus Red shaft, not the Velacore. and most of the year have played my now two year old Titelist TSi1 9.0 with the Adilia Ascent Regular flex shaft. I like it and the ball seems to come off the face hot, but just didn't go anywhere, see above numbers SoI I'm excited to see what the TSR2 will do. My Setup: TSR 2 10.0 HZRDUS Smoke CB Red 6.0 50G At first I was a bit concerned the HZRDUS 6.0 would be a bit stout for me, but the profile of it with a stiff butt and mid section help control my aggressive and fast move from the top (well as far to the top as I can get...ha) into the downswing. Even thought my swing speed topped out at 82 with my previous Aldila Ascent 40g shaft in the TSi1, it actually has picked up speed to 83 to 84 with the new head and shaft. As a result early retuns are gains of 6 to 7 mph in ball speed and 12 to 20 yards of carry and 11 to 25+ total yards. These are reading from my MEVO with ProV1 X balls on the course and used the GHIN GPS for total distances, as the MEVO only gives carry. Here are some early photos and I'll add more data and on course expereince and some subjective thoughts as well.
