Just got home after dinner with friends and Team Trivia (we took 1st Place!) and I find a small white unmarked box in my mailbox.......It was from Acushnet.....yep, that's right.  It's Titleist Prototype Golf Ball Review time again.

 

From the looks of them, they appear to be a new NXT type.

 

We'll have to try them out.

 

Anybody else get some in the mail?

I won't be able to test them this week as I have a two day tournament this weekend.  I am not sure if the prototypes are USGA approved. I don't think I can use them in the tournament.

I got mine two weeks ago. Optic yellow version. Played a round with them, and my mates hit them a few times. I took one to my local golf shop for the pro to "guess" what it was. We all seem to agree its some form of the NXT. The contact felt real nice, and it had a fairly high flight. It did not roll out much. The cover seemed a little more soft then the previous NXT and scuffed up pretty easily. I will definitely keep playing them till I lose all three.

Well, I have played four rounds with one of my "Test" Titleist golfballs.....

 

- Must be an NXT version as the cover is not urethane

- Four Rounds and it still is very playable....hit the cart path a couple times.

- Putting is nice and crisp

- Experienced a bit of rollout on my approach shots....

- Flight Trajectory is a lower than Pro V1x

- Distance is about the same as Pro V1x

 

So Far so good....

They sent me three balls as well. I am registered at Team Titleist, but I didn't have any profile infomation entered until after I had received the balls in the mail. I have no idea why - totally random among registrants? FWIW, I don't even play Titleist balls.

Then I guess this is your chance to try them and report on how they react to your swing.

 

Remember, not all Titleist golfballs are $45/dozen.....the DT Solo is a great ball at $20/dozen

I got four rounds out of the first Test golfball!.....and still have it.......HOWEVER, I only got 4 holes from the 2nd one! I buried it in the rough :(

 

When I received the sleeve of test balls, the note said I would get an email in a couple weeks telling me how to report my findings.......Well, it has been a month and I have not heard from Titleist......what's up with that?

I got them. I quickly discovered they are not lost-proof.
