I think I'm going to look at the G25 and the SLDR, I might try and get a hold of Powerbilt to see where I can demo an AFO as well.

Gonna stick with my Nike Covert with Powerbilt AFO as my backup.  These two drivers really finished well this time around.

I'm not real surprised by the Bertha Alpha's performance in the test. Callaway has said it's not for everyone from the beginning. The tech is pretty neat tech. And I'm not bragging because they're LM/sim balls but I cracked and split one in half at the PGA store in 3 swings with it. It felt really solid and I was impressed with it indoors on the sim for those 3 swings. I'm more shocked about Harry Arnett's response to this test regarding the Alpha, if I'm being honest. In all my interactions with him, he's seemed like a class individual. The test, to me, just validates what they've been saying about the Alpha, it's not for everyone. And with only 1 loft being released now, it narrows that segment way down.

 

The one, to me, that is more shocking is the performance of the standard Bertha. It's supposed to be more for the massss, and it's offered in 2 lofts starting today (before depending on your retailer). And it performed, IMO, not as well as I expected. The x2 hot seems to fit the majority better.

 

Still, I'm kind of let down with how Harry responded to this testing. We were also supposed to have a challenge and it appears he's backed out of that as well. Which is kind of shocking as I challenged the Bertha to a duel with a 3 year old driver(with about 10 generations of technology between it and the latest release) and he had accepted. Now he's backed off of it.

 

I also still want to try the Alpha and Bertha for myself outdoors but it's an expensive experiment with their prices being what they are lol. So I'll likely be waiting for that. Plus I have a SLDR to test for myself currently. That's if the snow melts. Now if MGS wants to discard the heads you guys have, I'll be glad to take one off your hands lol. Hey, a guy has to try right?

 

Seriously, though, there were some startling results thrown in here. Some results that validated theories I've had about some of the clubs, and some that performed much better than I anticipated.
