RoverRick Posted March 11, 2014 Share Posted March 11, 2014 Oh yes, I just remembered, someone said something about how strange it was that I took 20 or more clubs to Canada to play and only took 15 clubs to the Texas Open when I drove. Well, I wanted to leave the back opened in case Rickles needed a place to sleep. Actually, the real reason is that in Canada we played five different courses. At the Texas Open we had only one course. I did take my 3 wood and an additional hybrid. In retrospect, the next time I play that course I will have a 60* wedge instead of the 58 and 64, the 3 wood and the hybrid or 4 wood. RoverRick Posted March 11, 2014 Share Posted March 11, 2014 Things I learned this weekend... 2) Rover could take 1/2 swings for a whole round and beat many people. My back is still a little sore but a friend wanted to play today. I did not take his bet because I was not planning on making full swings today. Hit 14 fairways, a bit shorter than usual but also hit some longer than normal, 9 GIR and 23 putts. I missed out on making $18 or more off of him. I am going to try to never expend more than 3/4 effort from now on. There is no doubt that I was overswinging big time Friday and Saturday trying to keep up with the young pups. Working on effortless power instead of powerless effort, but this is a thread unto its self, and I need more work. (A LOT.)
