RookieBlue7
Seems that TMag is getting set to release a deeper fairway at the Masters for use off the tee. I know several at the loft-up event from other sites said they got to see it, question is, do any of the spies have any Spy work/intel regarding it? Seems they're copying the 3deep/Phrankenwood, which was a newer version of the HiBore Unicorn (2wood). There's also a rumor going around about a spring release of a white SLDR In The BagDriver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400 SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerLW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold SpinnerXW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger steppedPutter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. hckymeyer
Zinger mentioned the white SLDR and that makes sense. The TM guys said they originally made it in white, but everyone they showed it to preferred the gray model so that's the one they put out. Based off the R1 releases it's not a surprise that they would also release white. As for the 3w I didn't hear anything about it. Also wouldn't surprise me though. Walkerjames
I may be wrong but I thought Tony from TMAG was using a deep 3 wood when we played at La Costa! But I wasn't in his group so I can't say for sure. jaxbeachpackerfan
Question from one who truly do not know. What would be the advantage of a deeper face on a fairway wood. The most consistent (and occasionally impressive) club in my bag right now is my Rocketballz 5w, with what, at least to my eyes, has a very shallow face. I can understand potential benefits off the tee with a deep face, but what's it going to do for you off the short grass? Inquiring minds would like to know.
