Looking for shaft input once again.

Ok gents. Aside from my ho'ing tendencies to want a new driver(can't help it, sooo shiny and pretty) the only clubs I haven't been 100% satisfied with in the bag right now are my wedges. Mizzy MP R12 absolutely love them except on full shots. The DG Spinners that came in them are probably getting the boot this spring and I am open to suggestions. I'd like to narrow it down to about 3 and then go do some demo time. Rest of my irons are all DG x100 and I love the ball flight I get but want something that's got a little higher flight for the wedges.

Maybe soft stepping the x100s in the wedges?

Soft stepping is cutting down the 8 iron shaft right? Hadn't considered that. And not quite sure how I'd go about it either.

Assuming you have .355 tip shafts, just order the 8i shaft and install as normal into a wedge.  Then butt cut to playing length.  The 8i shaft is the 37.5" one, that would be soft stepping it one time.  

 

If you have .370 tip shafts then you would just buy a standard shaft and follow the tip trimming instructions for the 8i, then install and butt cut to playing length.

 

Should give you slightly better spin and trajectory while maintaining the feel of the rest of your irons.

What dont you like about the spinners that you need to change the shafts.

The are planty to choose from. The Rifle 8 iron spinner trick is a good one for higher ball flight.

How many full shot are you hitting with the wedges

MC it's not that I hit a whole lot of full shots with my wedges. I suppose I could give the shafts another go round I think I'm more looking to tinker to break up the cabin fever I've been dealing with. It was almost 70 here yesterday and I spent the day at work. Had an open morning and early afternoon today and it's freezing rain and currently 20 degrees out. Nothing like experiencing all 4 seasons in a 24 hour stretch. Maybe I'll just redo the putter and reshaft the wedges later in the year.

Soft stepping a flex up is to create a spinner shaft. If you don't like the added spin that those create, I'd advise against that and go with the same shaft you play in your irons
