SPY VIP Tony Covey MGS Posted April 22, 2014 SPY VIP Share Posted April 22, 2014 Despite the glacier spanning the width of the 7th hole (I'm sure some of it has melted by now), the home course is open and match play league starts tonight. The luck of the draw (actually we were the last two teams to sign up) squares me up against Summit23 (Blake), our club testing coordinator. As best as either of us can remember I beat him last year (and the year before), so the plan is to do that again. Blake spent the winter hitting the ball well, and I spent the winter doing the opposite so he should have the advantage. Unfortunately for him, he also has to give me 3.5 strokes, so there is that. My plan is to use the big driver only when it's really necessary, and otherwise Mini Driver the hell out of him. If I can find away to hit passable 2nd shots (something I failed at miserably during my first round of the season), I can win. Parts for the new Big Driver are still a week out, so here's what we're rolling with tonight. SPY VIP Tony Covey MGS Posted April 23, 2014 Author SPY VIP Share Posted April 23, 2014 Twas the ultimate war of attrition, and we both lost. Maybe Blake wants to tell everyone how I won a hole where neither of had a lost ball/penalty with a triple bogey. Of course, then I'd have to tell you how I shanked my approach on 18. Was not pretty MyGolfSpy is only major golf site that refuses advertising from large golf companies. With your support we can keep it that way.
