Wednesday night all you can eat Fish and Chips at Dugans!!

We played Hyland last year in the rain, and it maybe the most under rated course in the area.

Just got back from "Marshall Training" for the 2014 Men's Open.  While we were there, played Talamore (our home course in town), MidPines (hit 8 or 9 bunkers, a long day, but we walked around in 3 hours), and Whispering Pines River Course.  Lunch ad Maxie's (the pub for locals in the Village), dinners at Ironwood and P.zza (real wood-fired super-hot oven).  Talamore and MidPines are always good, and I was really impressed with Whispering Pines.

John Barry, I hope you're not getting killed by the rain.

Tobacco Road, The New Hyland Golf Club, Foxfire and Whispering Pines CC. Nights at Dugan's Pub!!

Back in the day we used to play Foxfire at least once maybe twice a month and sometimes we would play Whispering Pines. That was back when I lived in Charlotte and public golf at that time sucked in Charlotte on the weekends and it was a little over an hour down to Pinehurst and Hoffman NC so we would get tee times and go down early and play all day and go back home in the dark. Never did go into the pubs but we did not stay all weekend either

Just got back and have a damaged liver!

Whispering Pines River course also, on Saturday, it was a great round.

Thursday got crushed by the rain, Tobacco Road of course, but our rain checks live on for the 3rd year in a row!

Hyland and Foxfire were both great. Hard to find a bad course down there!

This 1 picture will say a million words, Friday's Worst Dressed Golfer Day! Prepare for this post to go Viral!!!

Dude...surely he put on shorts or pants to actually play the round. And is that a skirt with those red leggings? The sombrero is a nice touch.

LOL! You mean pickled liver don't you John? You guys actually played dressed like that? Surprised the course staff did not say anything. These prudes down here would have. Maybe that is the reason according to course management groups that rounds played are down in this area.

Hi Dave. I've been out of touch with everyone lately. I'm marking this post so I can read and learn as much as possible about the Pinehurst experience. I'm the host of our 4-some this year. We'll be there in late September. Wish it was tomorrow. So far we'll be playing #2, Mid-Pines, and Pine Needles. Haven't decided on the other two yet. Thanks in advance for all the advice and tips.
