My new custom putter cover

If you've noticed any of my recent posts I've been looking for a new putter cover for my 2ball.  I lost the original one a week or so ago and don't like playing without one.  After enlisting the help of the forum (thanks Dave for the ones you found) I just didn't find anything that really jumped at me.  I've had this idea in the back of my head for a while now, but didn't know if it would work or not.

Yup, I've always wanted to make a headcover out of a hockey glove.  So I went to my local Play It Again and found a pair of youth gloves I thought might work in the colors I wanted.  Then I went to the fabric store and bought half a yard of Sherpa fabric and glue that the salesperson recommended.  Spent less than $30 for all of my supplies.

 

After three failed attempts at creating some type of cylinder or cone I could shove into the glove I decided to just cut strips and glue them in on each side of the glove.  So far I think it's going to work.  The putter almost snaps into the glove so it's nice and snug and not going to bounce off.  My only concern is if the glue will hold the fabric in while taking it on and off repeatedly.  I guess time will tell, but I'm cautiously optimistic :)

 

So what's the verdict?  Like it, love it, or hate it?

Nice, I also need a new headcover because the guy in the pro shop could not find the mallet putter headcover for my nike method 00 putter, and the blade one keeps falling off.

Driver:  Taylormade 2017 M2 9.5 degree head played at 8 degrees.  Fujikura speeder evolution tour spec x flex shaft tipped 1/4 inch.  

 

3-Wood: 15 degree M2 tour.  Fujikura pro 73 tour spec X flex shaft.  

 

Mizuno H5 2 iron.

I am like KY Golfer I dont know anything about hockey but it looks good. I do not think you will have any problem with the strips coming un glued. I have used that type and brand of glue on other projects and have never had it fail
