It's that time of the year again..... Fantasy Football

And with football season approaching yet again, the big question becomes are we going to have a fantasy league again this year? If so, we should start trying to get it somewhat organized again... Who all would be in?

I hate all the rules changes in the NFL. Defenses aren't allowed to play anymore. This year they are going to get even more ticky tac with the pass coverage and defensive holding rules. 

 

All these new rules are seemingly geared toward higher scores for the benefit of the fantasy football craze.

Thank Claude Humphrey ( recent HOF inductee and Falcon) for the start of the rules changes. The year after the Gritz Blitz (1978 was the year after) was when the offensive friendly rules started.

I'd second this I'm definitely in if there's no IDP but would get in if needed to form a league with one. It was a little much for me last year with my two other leagues.

 

I'd selfishly like PPR because neither of my current leagues use that format.

I personally prefer IDP because it keeps it more interesting for me. I am a little OCD and prefer deeper leagues with larger rosters. I don't care for PPR though. Just takes away from the guys that do big yardage on few catches IMO.

 

If no IDP is suggest standard QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex, TeamD. And have bonuses for eclipsing marks like 100 yards rushing, 100 receiving, and if you want PPR, maybe a point per 5 catches. Point per catch is a little overboard when QB's don't get a point per completion or RB's get a point per carry. Just my opine though

Oh trust me you don't want the point per completion thing - been there, done that, wait until you loose because some QB throws a pass that gets batted down, catches it and earns 2 points.

 

I'm fine with standard and the bonuses.  I totally get why you like IDP but my problem is the same as Matt's, it's a matter of time and I have two other leagues that I've been in forever.  Let us know what you decide.

It doesn't matter to me, I just want to get a good headcount to see if we have enough to fill a league primarily.  Because I don't want to have to scramble to find entrants again.  I've played PPR before, it just takes all the fun out of it for me because you know the draft strategy... Draft all the slot WR's you possibly can early.  LOL. 

And 2 leagues and it eats into your time?  Cmon man... I'm in 6 already and this will make 7 plus the daily leagues I play on 3 sites.  And college football daily leagues as well.

The Reigning Champ is in.  I really liked the IDP format (obviously), but would go with the other formats as well.  I didn't necessarily like the bonus points that exaggerate the benefit of a player having a great day.  But I'm flexible.

I had a draft this evening and have another Tuesday. This evening's was totally old school, every time I was up the best player on the board as an RB. Peterson, Bernard, Cobb first three picks, G Tate, Jennings, next 2 so we'll see. RG 3 and Olsen round out my starters. Well tucker and Denver do actually but who knows there. I have tons of WR back ups but not at RB, still 3 Rbs that don't really share are nice in this day and age.

Well, I can say it now that I picked him up in the ony league I'm in with anyone here. If he's available, go pick up Josh Gordon for at least the weekend till you see how they vote on the new Substance abuse policy/limits as he could be eligible week 2 if it passes. Story is on PFT

I heard that Rookie and have picked him up in one of my leagues. My other two teams are stacked at receiver and I don't want to be dropping an RB for a risky play like this one.

 

I'm so happy with two of my teams and have such crappy match ups this weekend starting with last night. At least Randall Cobb got a TD out of the deal.

AP may be done for a while after being indicted in Texas for injuring a child. Spanking your child is one thing, but beating a 4 year old with a switch to the point of bleeding and it still bleeding hours later, yeah that's excessive.

The child has cuts on his hands and bruises on his back and reportedly had his mouth stuffed full of leaves so he couldn't cry as loudly. Sorry, but a 6'2" 240lb elite athlete has no excuse to beat a 4 year old so badly he needs medical attention. He deserves to be done for the year and jailed
