Maverickping
I've never played golf where these things are. I saw this monster lying around (on the grass) and I started to think about you guys/gals that deal with this all the time. How do you do it? I don't think I would be anywhere close to the bank/water if I knew these things were even known to be specific to the region. I will be going down south next year for a couple of fun outings and I'm already getting nervous lol. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rick
mudfish
One of my friends played in NC last year, and he said he saw about half a dozen snakes and the guy he was with said they were all venomous... NO THANK YOU... I did see a fox on Tuesday on the first tee... he was about 50 yards away and trying to find his way to the woods... Matt Saternus
I saw at least a half dozen gators on my Myrtle trip this past spring. Some were in the water, some on land, some big, some small. The biggest one was the only in that was in play (of course), but my survival instinct caused me to hit my ball WAY away from that guy. Addicted2Golf
Chubbs: Back in 1965, Sports Illustrated said I was going to be the next Arnold Palmer. Happy Gilmore: Yeah? What happened? Chubbs: They wouldn't let me play on the Pro Tour anymore. Happy Gilmore: Ah, I'm sorry. Because you're black? Chubbs: Hell no! Damned alligator BIT my hand off! [shows Happy his wooden hand] Happy Gilmore: OH MY GOD! Chubbs: Yeah. tournament down in Florida. I hooked my ball in the rough down by the lake. Damned alligator just POPPED up, cut me down on my prime. He got me, but I tore one of that bastard's eyes out though. Look at that. [shows Happy a small glass jar with an eyeball in it] Happy Gilmore: You're pretty sick, Chubbs. JohnBarry
They don't seem to bother any one, at least on all our Myrtle trips, but everyone uses caution around the water. John Barry Bring the Funk, Back to Golf The Golfer's Trip
