Mobile/Phone GPS apps - What's your favorite?

I'm looking for your input on your favorite mobile device GPS apps for golf.

Also, why do you prefer that vs. another.

Have tried several apps - favorite is Striker.  Like how it combines GPS with tournament type scorekeeping.  For straight scorekeeping Game Golf is dead simple.  Usually use that with a rangefinder.

All are okay, but they drain the battery......so I choose to use the Garmin G6.  It's compact, holds a charge for about 4 rounds and has a terrific screen.

They drain the battery way too fast for on course use, but I use Pocket Caddy on the range to find the distance to targets.  I've also used it to find out if a restaurant was in walking distance. LOL

Agreed, drains the battery... there are a few tricks to help fix the problem, but no matter what you're bound to lose a lot of the charge during your round.

Solved the batter problem by getting one of these...

 

 

TuffBatt - can charge an iPhone up for 4 or 5 times.  Costs about 40 bucks...

I use Golf Pad. It doesn't keep your handicap (and I hope they add that feature soon) but at the end of a round, they send you an email with a link to look at your score and every shot you hit with your clubs on a satellite map...very cool feature.

 

I only use about 50% battery in one round, so it's not much of a battery hog.

 

One day, I'll jump on the Game Golf bandwagon.

With my crazy life over the last several months I haven't been able to play. But, when I do, I can't make myself get my phone out to mess with it. It feels like it interrupts my thought process and rhythm too much. I do like Game Book and it's cool that you can follow a buddy's round live. But the couple times I've entered rounds in it, I do it afterwards. I know, I'm mental..... Haha!

Golf shot is all I use.  I do rarely use it though.  I prefer a good ole' laser reading.....

I use Free Caddy. Gives you front , middle, and back to the pin. At my skill level, it works just fine.
