nike7227
A representative at a Golfsmith told me on Monday that Taylormade is selling off Adams Golf and most likely the name is going away. I have not seen any reports of this online. Has anyone heard anything late last week or so far this week about that?
markb
I can see one thing happening, but not both. TX hq is shuttered already staff dissipated. SPY ZINGER
They bought Adams for their patents. I can't see Adams Golf ever being successful without them.
GolfSpy Barbajo
Heard it a little differently -- Adams may be rolled into Taylormade - the Adams name would still be there, but for Senior and SGI equipment only, and be sold on the TMag website. But that is 3rd or 4th hand info... I remember a thread or two here back when TMag bought Adams - may have to dig that one up.... SPY VIP Tony Covey MGS Posted November 26, 2014 SPY VIP Share Posted November 26, 2014 I spoke with TaylorMade's relatively new CEO Ben Sharpe for about 30 minutes a couple of weeks ago. I'll probably write something up about it in the next couple of weeks. Relevant bits here...although nothing would surprise me in this industry, there is a clear strategy to differentiate the two brands. TaylorMade believes there is value in Adams (especially where the company is planning to position the brand). I don't think you'll see Adams sold unless adidas decides to sell TaylorMade as well. revkev
It seems so clear where Taylor Made is going with Adams - They are after me I can't imagine that they would sell or that they would change the name - guys my name recognize the name and we recognize the players that are associated with the brand. Thanks for the feedback (& thoughts from other members). I guess I meant TMAG and not just Taylormade, but I knew you'd figure it out...I think keeping Adams for a certain segment (i.e. Seniors) would make sense...Guess only time will tell. I figured nothing had happened yet though. Otherwise, we would've heard it thru here before my original post.

revkev
I received an email from Adams golf about the new Adams golf just a bit ago so clicked on to the new website. It is so clear that they are going after the senior golf market just from the appearance of the website itself. I can't fault them and I wish them well.
