Matt Saternus
I tried it at my local Golf Galaxy. It confirmed that what I was playing was a good fit. I think it's a cool piece of fitting technology and people should definitely give it a shot if they have the chance, if only to confirm that they're playing the right shafts. MmmmmmBuddy
That thing is one of the best pieces of fitting equipment that has come out in recent years. I love using it. It allows me to take all of the guesswork out of selecting a group of shafts for a customer, and it also makes me look like a genius when I tell a customer something that is a bit out of the ordinary, and the Shaft Optimizer bears it out. I love that thing. SPY VIP Tony Covey MGS Posted May 4, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted May 4, 2010 Definitely a very cool tool. Maybe I'd have come up with Project X 6.0 on my own (I go back and forth between the 5.5s and the 6.0s), but KBS Tour soft stepped or X-100s soft stepped are probably not options I (or the majority of golfers) would have ever considered. I have a call with a very cool OEM tomorrow, and I expect the info from the Mizuno will come in handy when we talk about fitting me for a set of test irons. Does anyone know how big Mizzy's shaft database is? Oh...and to answer the question at hand... Based on my quick fitting experience, I think it's an absolutely awesome fitting tool. It's definitely worthy of its own write-up on the site. MyGolfSpy is only major golf site that refuses advertising from large golf companies. With your support we can keep it that way. jamo
One question: does it do graphite shafts too?
MmmmmmBuddy
One question: does it do graphite shafts too? only the graphite shafts that Mizzy offers... Same as the steel. JohnBarry
Too bad there isn't a univeral one, doing all shafts brands. MGS folks, that should be your next invention! John Barry Bring the Funk, Back to Golf The Golfer's Trip
golfplaya
I did it for my mp 68. only problem was that it was at my driving range and the fitter wasn't a real representative of mizuno. nice guy, but still. he didn't check for lie angle (which should be 1 degree flat) or length ( which should be 1/4 inch longer because mizuno is 1/4 inch shorter in their stock shafts than other brands). so I'm a little pissed.
