westy
Pah Italians are cool not because they make beautiful cars (just a few thousand hyper cars) or some small black dresses, or a small part associate with the Mafia.....crime ain't cool folks. Get yourself to the Italian Alps or the Dolomites, the Italians are damn cool because they make functional and effective so amazing..... I give you the fiat panda 4x4 cross. This bad boy is the size of a roller skate but out performs land rovers when it gets mucky. I'd take this bad boy over a hummer (not just because I'm tight on petrol). The fiat 500 (new or old) - are they cool because they cost a gazillion euros? No, they are cool because they look good, go round corners and are something people can genuinely aspire to. westy
sadly it's gone 2100 hours in Europe and I've been at the Peroni and not read the question -- the difference to North america? Sat in restaurant in London by parliament and I can see a fiat sat outside in the rain..... So what goes for significant in London ain't the answer. The answer may be coffee, or pizza, or a gun (hope not) - but what I think Italian culture brings to the US (hell theworld) is style to the functional. so things that don't break the bank but are still amazingly stylish. markb
Allora, la risposta giusta a questa interessantissima domanda è, senza dubbio, la "Res Publica" -- la cosa del Popolo -- quindi, il nostro sistema di governo. (..Oh wait a minute Joe -- you wanted the answer to the question in English, right? With all that Italian in your review, I thought you wanted the answer in Italian!) Let me start over in English this time. Okay, the correct response to this most interesting question is, without a doubt, the "Res Publica" -- the People's Thing -- meaning, our system of government. Whatever else you think of our government today, regardless of its flaws, there is no doubt the multi-cameral, three branch, republican form of government is still America's greatest contribution to the world. We largely lifted it from those old Italians who made it work for centuries. Sure, you can argue that both have their roots in Greek democracy, but the American federal representative republic ended up being more Roman than it did greek. Our founding fathers were so Roman in their thinking and manners that they emulated Cato and Horatio, we used to call Washington the American Cincinnatus, and Jefferson spent his entire life building his own Italian Rotonda. I, for one, thank heaven for those old Italians every first Tuesday in November when I get the privilege of voting. bag - SunMountain Synch with Ogio Synergy X4 cartdriver - Optiforce 440, Paderson Kevlar Green stiff 46.5"fwoods - Jetspeed, 3HL regularirons - Speedblades 3-8, 85g stiff steel, 2 upwedges - Scor 40, 45, 50, 54, 58putter - Ketsch 35" slight arc, SuperStroke 2.0 mid-slimball - ProV1x

RoverRick
Ball bearings and the electric motor. Although Nicholas Tesla is credited with the AC Motor. The manufacture of this putter would not be possible without these two inventions. Although it pains me to not list all the different foods and the wines. Kenny B
Italian chutzpah. About 15 years ago, a very good friend of mine, Vince DeVito (no relation), at the time a 70-year old with an excellent short game I might add, was on a business trip with me and four others in San Francisco. It was a nice June evening when we wanted to go to dinner at Scomas on Fisherman's Wharf. Scomas is an excellent Italian seafood restaurant that does not take reservations. When we arrived, there was a line of 50 people out the door waiting for tables. We didn't want to wait that long. Vince walked inside and said: "What do you have for DeVito?" They asked how many, and Vince said six. The person seating people said it would be about 5 minutes. We had the best table in the restaurant! Vince passed away playing golf on his course in Naples, Florida about 6 years ago. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

dru_
Monica Bellucci Beautiful, smart, hitting her stride as a legendary beauty after the age 40, and Bond woman in the upcoming SPECTRE... And yes, my wife knows about this obsession. Did I mention that I have italian heritage, perhaps I am the best thing? no, that would have to be my great grandmother. She was the epitome of the Italian immigrant grandmother, and she taught me the most important lesson of Italian families. We say 'I love you' by sitting you at the kitchen table, and feeding you until you cannot move. So when in an Italian household, never forget that 'eat, eat' is their way of saying 'welcome to the family, we love you'.
