Quiz Time: Name That Manufacturer

Recommended Posts

The started in 2007 is the tricky part.

Started in, meaning started as a business

Started in 2007 with less than nothing, a long time OEM that was in the red and now $120M a year.

If it's the second, I'd go with Cally. Callaway was losing big about that time.

Cally has way more than 3 majors.  Phil's got 5 by himself.

John I think we need another hint!!

Yes, you could use one.

Fret not, my friends.  All will be revealed in due time.  Don't know about you guys, but this is a fun conversation...it makes you think a little, and maybe rethink a little.

All will be revealed --- but patience you must have...

Piretti has won some big events (fed ex, race to Dubai, etc) but no majors to my knowledge but they're worth a guess.

Good stuff, ain't it?  Not Piretti, Seemore or Graffaloy.

If this turns out to be some semantic thing where the company has existed for ages but was bankrupt (less than nothing), then re-organized and became profitable, that would be pretty lame.

The clue says the company started in 2007 with less than nothing.

It doesn't say it was in existence already, then re-organized from bankruptcy.

Even if it has a parent company that was in existence, that should disqualify it, such as Superstroke golf grips being owned by Tiger Shark, which has existed for a long time.

Or all of the Wilson Golf related answers.

...which haven't been specifically refuted.

I'm afraid we're all going to be crying "FOUL!" when Wilson Staff is revealed to be the answer.
