jp0319
I’m a watch guy! I’ve had Omega, and Breitling in the past. Currently have a Rolex Submariner Date and an Apple Watch 5. I wear them both a lot, today I wore both at the same time! I’d rather look at my Sub for the time and use the Apple Watch for tracking everything and notifications when I don’t want or have my phone. NewMillenniumAthletics
I really like nice watches but ever since I got my fitbit that's about the only watch I ever wear. So much more functional than a nice automatic on the wrist. So I am a watch guy on the course but it's a fitbit... MDGolfHacker
I used to wear watches all the time but got away from wearing them once the phone became an all in one device. After testing the skycaddie LX-5, I forgot how much I miss actually wearing a watch! Might have to dig out the Tissot I got in Sin Maarten on an anniversary trip..will most likely need a new battery. RollingGreens
I used to wear my Apple Watch on the course. Great for collecting data. But I’ve gone away from it. I don’t need the distraction of the every day world at my finger tips in addition to trying to save all the swing speed I can. I think their is a study that shows at least 1 mph loss for a watch Quote Stealth 2 Plus 9deg Kai' li Red Stealth 2 13deg Aldilla Rogue Silver Stealth 2 15deg Aldilla Rogue Silver JPX 921 Hot Metal 4-PW Nippon Modus 120s SM8 54 and 58deg Dynamic Gold Wedge Flex Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Titleist ProV1 Hoofer Stand Bag Stewart Q Follow Electric Caddie 300 PRO Rangefinder Official Nippon Regio B+ Driver Shaft Review Official Stewart Q Follow Review

stephenmatt
I wear an Apple Watch everyday on the golf course or just at work/home. It is awesome on the golf course because apps like TheGrint sync up to it and you can count your strokes and see the distance to the hole from your location right on your wrist. I am a big fan of it. DevMurphy
Cell phones have made watches pretty much obsolete for strictly telling time. But, in my opinion, a watch is much more than just a timepiece; it's a fashion statement, an extension of your style. Have you ever considered wearing a watch purely for its aesthetics? For instance, a Patek Philippe super clone can be a great way to flaunt some luxury without breaking the bank. They are so meticulously crafted that it's hard to differentiate them from the real deal. Since the thread is a couple of years old, I'm curious if your stance on wearing watches has changed over time. Sometimes our tastes evolve, and something we weren't fond of before becomes appealing. Everardo
Used to be a watch guy and collect some over the years, usually some limited edition but over time (no pun intended) I've become less of one. I still have a couple in rotation depending on the occasion but the daily driver is a Garmin Venu but have also used it less and less now days. I don't like the constant distractions, buzzing, notifications, etc sometimes I just want to unplug and as the saying goes, even a broken watch is correct twice a day. I just can't figure out how to turn off the suggested daily workout notification. It keeps wanting me to run 30 minutes to 3 hours. I'm not a runner! (I'm a cyclist.) berkeleybob
Nine years since this thread was first posted. Yep, still wearing a watch. Mostly I’ve worn a Timex, but then my brother started collecting watches and then shared them with me. Among them are a Seiko, a Dan Henry and an Orient diving watch, which is a pretty cool to wear. But since I’m in the a wood shop often, I wear a Casio G Shock. I appreciate a traditional face, but the G Shock is a good fit in physical conditions, including the golf course. Style-wise it’s a bit of a throwback to the early 80s. That is, it reminds me of my first watch, which was an LED digital watch. Star Wars theme. So cool. My wife wears an Apple Watch, which she uses to track her exercising, including swimming—and to tell people calling her to hold on while she searches for her iPhone. Some day I might get one, if only to ditch my range finder and GPS my way round the course. But for now, I just like a watch that tells time.
