That dime size wear pattern is nothing to be afraid if they are rolling a face balanced seemore with a fatso superstroke.

Why so much hate against the Super Strokes? A lot of pros are switching to them, Spieth games one. They quiet your hands.

I could care less if people wear jeans, but if you're wearing them at an especially auspicious time that is totally inappropriate, like 90 degrees and humid, I'm pretty sure you've never golfed before, or only a couple times. But it makes for hilarity when they start to chafe by the 8th hole.

I've also seen someone in a jean jacket playing golf. That was pretty funny.

I was also going to throw in something about being named Bones, but I thought that may be too obvious.

Just don't make any assumptions .....

But I will confess the one that gets me. Hole number 1 at my course is 340 from the tips, none of the good players that I know hit driver on it unless there are extreme conditions because driver brings all sorts of bad results into play and the good result is a shot of 70 to 40 from a hanging lie over a trap. Just hit your 210 club and you have a short iron that you can control and it becomes a sure 4 possible 3.

When I see someone standing on that tee with driver I think - boy am I glad I'm just practicing today because the course is about to back up big time.

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

I've seen a lot of pros gaming them push a 3ft putt out of the hole.

I put one on my putter. Gave it a few rounds, and was about to cut it off and put on an old Pingman grip.

Tried one more round with it, and it clicked for whatever reason. (Not an exteme-sized one, just the ultra slim 1.0 model.) I think these are as close to cheating in golf as we'll ever see. How they passed USGA I know not. There's a reason so many pros use them. Some of whom are going to be bad putters just searching for a fix. But some very good putters use them as well. Speith and Dufner the obvious ones.

Gleaned from another thread: electronic devices.

The more you have, and the more you mess with them on-course, the worse your score.

Not often it doesn't come to fruition observing people.

Whats wrong with Miura? The only reason I ain't hitting them is because I can't afford them. As far as those big putter grips I do draw conclusions with them Most folks I see putt with them have the yips anyhow. What cracks me up about the whole thing is that some of the guys that use them can't get them into their compartment bags. One guy I play with has one and it is as big as the exuast pipe on the Mack truck I drive 5 days a week he has to carry it in the cart basket absolutely will not fit in his 14 way bag

Well damn, I don't have anything Tmag anymore but the other two apply to me as well.... Crap

As for putters, I assume nothing because the best putter at my club uses a super strokes grip and our head pro uses the claw. Both of them could putt circles around me with their eyes closed.

I can't get over the people in blue jeans thing. I don't mind as much if its cold outside but during the summer, in MS... Common man. I'm usually dying and I'm wearing shorts.

Also I make assumptions when I see someone who has a "bad" swing. I guess it is the baseball player in me but it kills me to see someone with an unathletic swing. Sometimes however I'm wrong and this person beats my @ss. haha I guess you can't profile all the time.

When my wife and I went to Phoenix last October we played a round at Wigwam Resort, but only 1 of 3 courses was open for play. The shortest course is a RTJ, Sr course playing 6000 yards from the tips. We went to the first tee and found we were being joined by one lady. She was from Canada (sorry guys), very nicely dressed, about 50 years old, 6 foot tall, thin, and a wonderful practice swing. She was on the back tees warming up with stretches and exercises. My wife said: "Oh great!" She enjoys playing with most anybody, but this lady was intimidating. The lady and I played from the tips and because the forward tees were really forward, my wife played from what I would call "senior tees". This lady had a nice swing but couldn't hit the ball; she couldn't hit it as far as my wife! Playing from the tips made for a really bad round for her, as well as us because we were always waiting for her. I don't get it. who was she trying to impress?

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

I play with a guy on my league that has the most ugly, un-athletic swing you have ever seen. He routinely shoots 33-35 for 9 holes. And..... it really pisses me off!....lol.

Best place to play the assumption game is a college tournament. The egos are so thick, you can cut them with a GI iron.

I played with a couple older guys one time when I caught up to them on a backed up course. They both had bad looking swings, one was absolutely horrible. They were both shooting within 1 or 2 of par.

You can have a great looking swing with terrible results, or a bad looking swing with great results. You can't always predict how someone will play by how their swing looks, that's for sure. I was surprised that day.

My favorote assumption gone wrong...

My RA in school while warming up for a tournament hit 10 shanks in a row and vomited on the range. No one expected him to break 90. He walked to the first tee and proceeded to shoot 65, set a record and win by 3. He quit a semester later and joined the church.

I play with a group of older guys weekly. They're between 65-80. One guy is 35. I'm 26. One guy does what looks like a moonwalk around the ball as he sets up. His feet point right, club face points left, and he hits it straight. He shot 73 last time we played and turned 80 in December. Playing with them is the most fun I've ever had. I don't judge people anymore.

I see all kinds of golf swings and equipment living in a tourist/retirement area. but us "locals" can always spot the tourist golfers. Really I am not condemming others or judging others but it can be funny. They will be decked out in the latest expensive golf clothes sporting the latest expensive golf equipment and playing from the blues and can't play a lick. But I love em because you can bet in the tourist season you can find lots of preminum pro line balls. I will walk in the afternoons after the busy mornings and find a lot of Pro Vs and Z Stars.

One day I walked in the club house during tourist season just going to hit a bag of balls. One of the guys working said those guys out there are looking for some players for some matches and a small Calcutta tomorrow too bad I got to work today and tomorrow easy pickings. I looked out the window and told him save your money I know some of those guys they are from Charlotte and they will beat your socks off! Yep some pretty good players there. 3 or 4 of them I went to school with and played competitive golf with over the years. Of course I went out there and they were surprised and thrilled to see me. I played with them over the next 2 days and played my butt off think I broke even. You never know
