langesc88
I have been on MGS now for a month or two and have been enjoying everything that site offers. I have been reading through all the forums, hell and I think I've already made a couple golf friends while here. Being a complete golf nut and someone who is dedicated to making the game better than when I started so I find this site priceless to making that happen. It might just be me or my lack of ability to slow down and take a breath but I have to say for a new user it would be great to have a member walk you through the site and provide a little guidance, after all one of the things that the sites says is we are all here to have fun, be respectful and greet the new member. I have stumbled upon forums, reviews and contests because they seem to be clearly spelled out, but posting new information and maintaining your profile can be a little difficult at times. I am in no way shape or form complaining about the site but just a thought for the powers that be for the suggestion box. You might already have a how to or need help button but I have not found it. langesc88
Thanks for the reply Plano! I think I might have most of it figured out well at least the things I click on. I think the thing I have the most problem with is finding content or weeding through the large amout that is already there. One thing I don't want to do is post repetitive information..ya know for the guys that have been on the site for a couple years. I work in a business where work instructions are key or SOP's so I can quickly give a new person the information they need to do their job. I am NOT saying the site needs that just something to make it alittle easier to follow. I'm not afraid to ask questions and happen to have a personal friend on the site so I run things by him, but the new guy might not be as willing to reachout to people they don't know. BIG STU
Welcome. If you have a question someone will answer it truthfully and concisely for you. As far as site 'navigation" you will learn it as you go. I have been on here a few years and I am not the most computer savvy person in the world. With the newly established staff of really smart people it has really improved which it was not bad to begin with. And I can tell you this is one big happy family and the staff and members myself included are always open to suggestions and comments Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee. westy
Welcome, a good point well made Id suggest. It can be a bit intimidating joining a site sometimes, lots of people with 1000's of posts - it can feel like a private club. Good news, MGS ain't like that! Crikey they're even nice to those of us from over the pond! langesc88
Oh I should clarify Bones that I'm not saying that you contact each and every individual as they join, thats not realistic. Maybe put together one of those cheesy videos just showing the basics. Just a good way to get the new member engaged. westy
Stu, In New York, Colorado and in Canada ive been blown away by how friendly folks are out east.
