Ya know, for a spell I had to play the hottest whatever be it shaft, etc. It can only do so much and we still have to swing. I think one of my favorite golf sayings was attributed to Sam Snead: "Miss it quick." I love that, and if I ever have something embroidered on a bag, that will be it! Hula Rock
I get you.... I think we get too caught up in "numbers" as recreational golfers. For the most part I am out there because I enjoy the game and love "ribbing" my golf buddies on the course. Let me know what you think about those 745's your getting, thinking about putting together a 745/545 combo set. mr_divots
Will do! When I write the review, I'll be sure to share it here too! Very excited about those! Honestly, I feel kinda off when hitting indoors, so I am not very apt to go hop on LM's and all that. I'm going to set one up for a G30 fitting which I'll share that process too. But for the most part, I really like to try things on course. My last round was 11/6 and haven't swung since. I hate going for fittings under such circumstances. Let me know what you think about those 745's your getting, thinking about putting together a 745/545 combo set. I too, am very interested in the Srixon irons. I was fortunate to be able to try a lot of terrific irons at the PGA show this year, but only on the range and indoor mats. There were some that stood out (Wilson Staff/Hogan) but the last irons I tried out were the Srixons and maybe I was warmed up a bit better, but nothing else felt like the Z545's to me. I want to setup a session this spring, where I can actually compare them side by side to see if that was just my imagination, or the real deal. mr_divots
Last I heard they are on backorder. So it might be a little while. It was -8º this morning, but supposed to be 50's by next week. There's hope! Hopefully the orders are fulfilled soon. Last Srixon irons I tried were the 701 tours, which were OK but nothing super special. Sounds like the materials and design are quite good with the Z series and an upgrade from that series. Lotta good looking irons out this year. mr_divots
the 545's are the TRUTH, surprised by the lack of coverage on the new Srixon line. I was a little torn between the 545's and the 745's. Ultimately, the lofts of the 745's are more what I'm used to playing, so I went with those. Head size will propbably be more like my S-55's and MP-59's as well. Speaking of which: S-55's gotta go to Ping for their steelfibers now too!
