Jmikecpa
I have been given a tour of the course and it is spectacular. The price point is a bit much, but something that I would play once or twice a year. I am a fan of most of Trump's courses....not so much of Donald. I have the chance to play his courses in West Chester, Bedminster and Philly several times a year and really like all three of them. Trump West Chester is a beast from the tips and yet playable from the member's tees which is a nice feature of the design. I find it amazing that his idea is to buy existing courses and then to a redesign. Can't wait to play the Blue Monster at Doral in April. Jmikecpa
The Black has gone up a bit over the last few years but for residents it is $65 weekdays and $75 on weekends with twilight rates under $50. Will let you know how it is after my round. Sounds great. Beth page for the out of towners is a bet pricey as well. Too bad I didn't know any NY golfers at the time. Would have been nice to get a few bucks off that course. Quote Driver: Epic Flash 12 Degree Wood: GBB 3 Wood Hybrid: Razr 4 hybriid stiff stock shaft. Jmikecpa
I am not far at all from Bethpage and the rates really are not that bad for out of state considering the course you get to play. The Black is about $130 during the week and maybe $145 on the weekends which is not a weekly thing, but still not that bad for a bucket list course. I played early in spring (two days before the Black opened for the year) and they were saying 225 all day every day. If it was only 130 I'd have no problem going out there for a round a year just to experience it. It's not too often you can play a recent US Open golf course and walk on. L.I. Rich
I played Ferry Point the first week it opened, and it is a terrific course. As you can likely ascertain, I'm not a city resident, so it is a steep fee, but the practice facilities and layout are terrific. The greens were in fantastic condition considering the winter we had. I've heard, though I've not witnessed, that the Black has on the order of seven temporary greens, and the Red something like four. L.I. Rich
I should amend my statement - the greens were in great shape, period. I can only imagine how fast they will be now that the weather is getting warmer, but they were smooth and true, just not particularly fast. Jmikecpa
Have not made it out to Bethpage yet this year, but played Garden City two weeks ago and we had 6 temp greens. Really just killed the course. Not looking forward to the $200+ fee at Ferry Point but worth giving it a go once. L.I. Rich
Well, if you (or anyone) is around, apparently all the greens at Bethpage are rehabbed as of 6/1...
