Got my new set of irons today! Awesome right?! Would have been if they were LH instead of RH. Must be really f***ing hard to read and double check a spec sheet.

I got the new Titleist DT Trusoft balls on Saturday....with member discount they were only $20/dozen at my pro shop.

 

Really like the feel.....and they handled well around the greens.

I just did some bargain shopping for some putters to refinish. Picked up an old Ray Cook and a Scotty Cameron Futura Phantom.

Make sure you at the least wear a dust mask when sanding on that Scotty.  Aluminum dust isn't good on the lungs.  I'd wear a half face respirator and some safety glasses myself.

It felt like my birthday this weekend. I picked up a beautiful Bettinardi Signature Series 7 on the cheap and came with the original head cover which was in fantastic shape. OH LAWD so pretty 

 

 

 

Also picked up some Taylormade RSI TPS- have played a couple of rounds with them and will be doing a review soon.

Did pretty well this year with my addiction. Just one putter (Odyssey Works Big T blade), and a set of Srixon Z355 irons, that haven't arrived yet.

This gorgeous autumn that we're having in New England is mocking me because my 2015 season was shortened by a dog bite. This forced inactivity would normally have me looking at the latest and greatest offerings from the OEMs, despite my having gone for my stones for new Hogans this summer. Instead, I'm becoming enamored of formulating combinations from the multitude of my retired sets, dating back to 1959 and before if we include the birth date of hand-me-downs.

 

I may have mentioned before that in addition to fighting a club ho inclination, I'm also a horder. I never had the good sense to sell anything that's not a house or a car. If its not golf stuff, I give it or throw it away. Golf stuff is kept forever. The circumference of my generously proportioned man cave is either littered or decorated, depending on your sensibilities, with old golf bags filled with old clubs. I've even got them leaning on four foot high JBL loudspeakers.

 

Since my recently becoming very active bullshitting with new buddies on these pages, I've had the epiphany that I'm not crazy about a lot of the modern offerings, and also that I have a lot of old gear that's just a re-gripping away from eyeing comebacks. Some people are doubtlessly bored to death with my pictures, but I imagine that some are amused by them. Here's yet another possible set for next spring.

I finally decided to get in on the Lamkin deal this past week.  My delivery came in today.  I haven't installed a grip on anything yet, but the i-Lines have potential.  It's raining here so who knows when I'll get to try any out.  It's been raining over a week.  But here's what I ordered:



39 club grips (26 i-Lines and 13 x10's).  5 putter grips (i-Lines).  They threw in the poker chip, tees and grip wipe.  Cost me $82 total

Made my first club purchase since June.  Picked up a Hogan TK 63 degree wedge.  Used it for two rounds so far and really liking the options it gives me.

I like the pictures BTW. I was 10 when a friend of mine returned from a year in Scotland. His dad was a Yale prof who taught for a year at St Andrews. My friend took up the game because there was this cheap course in town. It was closed on Sundays though. He brought back a set of clubs that the local pro made for him(a bag of five or six clubs as I recall.).

 

The only thing that I don't like about the pics are the rock flites.

Not using a glove, I only use wrap-style grips.

I piked up a set of the Adams XTD blades over the weekend the the KBS C Tapers in them for my Las Vegas bag.  I think all but the wedges and putter in that bag will be from the Adams XTD line.

Apparently I bought some Cameron putter covers over the weekend since the new Vegas release and one of the older Vegas covers arrived today. Not even sure when or what city I had time to hit eBay but I guess I found time....or my wife is now in the running for wife of the year.

At my level it is first or business so the drinks are indeed free. Trying to drop some weight so I have to abstain these days and settle for bottled water.

Five days in one place and I started buying again. Stopped at PGA Superstore for a travel bag and ended up with a tour issue 913 for $79. Not sure if I will like the head but the 83g Blueboard will go nicely in my 915 fd.

Added a new hybrid shaft for my 19* Titleist. Picked up a Diamana D+ 102x for a song and it will work just well in the 913h.
