I picked up an 815 DBD that will get the AD DI 7x in it shortly. I also grabbed an Apex UT 24* with a Recoil to replace the X Utility that I hit like crap lately. If anyone is interested in how the Apex UT compares to the Hogan Ft. Worth 15 hi let me know and I can get something up on it. I bought the club pretty much for the head since it had a Fuji Speeder R flex shaft in it. I am debating on switching to the Cally bag tomorrow and giving it a go. For $70 it will serve its purpose. Jmikecpa Posted August 20, 2016 Share Posted August 20, 2016 How do you like the DBD? After one warm up at the range and one round I like it a lot. The sound is a very muted thud and the face is hot. It is a lot more forgiving than I thought it would be but definitely a better player's club. I put an AD DI 7x in it and set the head to 10* neutral with the gravity core in the lower spin setting. Hit some absolute bombs with it today including driving the 351 yard 13th at my club in a 10 mph down breeze. The one part to get used to is it is a heavy club, not sure of the swing weight but definitely a lot heavier than the regular 815. Mixed reviews from me after one round and some range time. This should not be a total reflection of the club but more so how much I like the Hogan Ft. Worth 15 HI irons. On the plus side it has great feel, a controllable ball flight and slots in perfect as a 4 iron in my Apex Pro set. On the con side I don't feel like I can jump on it and get a little more out of it. Overall it was with the $90 I paid for it and it will be in my Callaway bag long term. Also it is a nice improvement over the X Utility irons and I really like that it looks like a traditional iron. My wife got me a Titleist Sta Dry 4 up for Father's Day that lasted all of two months. The top cuff started to flex and bend which caused the legs to buckle when it was set down. Replaced it today with a Callaway HL 5...and got $40 back in shop credit to boot. The head popped off so it seemed an easy fix. Cleaned it up and reapplied fresh epoxy, dried over night and I think it is ready to go. Love this club, always bomb it just as far or further than todays 3 woods.
