mega Posted February 5, 2017 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Just got a Ping i-Series 6 iron to go with my 7 through W all with the Nippon Tour Modus 105 Before that I picked up the Ben Hogan VKTR hybrid in 21* and 25* Eyeing an Evnroll Putter and may do a fitting to compare my Great Big Bertha against the Epic, if I can pick-up 4 to 5 MPH as some have, I would upgrade as it would be my last chance for any significant equipment for 5 years as my daughter is Jr in high school and is eyeing expensive colleges... Well I'm sort of wanting to do a little project where I remove everything from the shafts like stickers and labels. Then have a buddy of mine coat them in some kind of stuff you coat handguns with to make them all black. Anywho... The shafts were some PX 6.5 3-w that went for around $45 shipped. I'm thinking either that or some PX flighted 6.5 or 7.0 but I don't know much about the flighted ones. If you can get your long irons up, they seemed to fly too high. Seeing from your setup you have no issue getting the ball up in the air! I don't have an issue getting anything up in there air by any mean but my long iron flight has dropped from towering to med/high in the last year due to some swing changes. Pair that with a new home course that pushes 7500 from the tips with lots of forced carries and it has me thinking of the flighted set. Maybe its a bad idea though. Plus the regular PX 6.5 are so much easier to find than PX 7.0 flighted. At least for a cheap project anyway.
