Gapping is a concern especially between my new 46 degree PW and my old 52 degree gap wedge. My traditionally lofted irons have a 48 degree PW which makes gapping for me pretty much perfect from gap wedge thru lob wedge. The question is, will I need to replace my wedges now to allow for a more consistent gapping pattern? Only time will tell.
 

 

 

... I guess I am one of the few that just doesn't see marketing that way. Almost ALL marketing is basically fluff and it doesn't matter if it is cars or grills or watches or whatever they are selling, the newer model is just so much better than the last model. I don't remember seeing any claims of longer irons per se, although the tag line of LONGER seems to be attached to every golf club with straighter, better, etc. Of course most new models are improved but it is up to the consumer to figure how improved and will it be quantifiably better for their game. My Cobra F9 is better than my F8 in almost every way but most likely has not improved my scores, just my enjoyment.  

... That said and moving on, what may help you in the short irons is weakening them 1*. I doubt you will find much difference between a 47* or a 48* pw. This is exactly what I have done with all my irons and initially going to stronger clubs I had to adjust the short irons some, but it did not take too long to figure out weakening them and playing 3/4 wedge shots took care of any loft issues I was having. Obviously you will want to try them as is because sometimes the stronger lofted wedges just go higher, not farther but you will figure that out. Good luck with your new weapons!

I bought a stiff flex KBS 610 wedge shaft today, along with a couple new Lamkin Crosslines and a Pure DTX that I'm going to put to the test on my experimental set of Hogan Apex Edge CFTs. (Someday soon I'll get a post together about my Frankenstein-ish setup, which I'm building solely for testing various grips and hitting off mats in the winter.)

The 610 will be going in my 54 degree Maltby M+ wedge. I had been flirting with replacing my 54 degree with a 52 and 56 degree combo, which would necessitate dropping my three wood (never use it at my home course), but I couldn't see dropping $120 to build two new wedges at the moment. For $35, a new shaft and grip will have to suffice for now.

I had the 54 degree built with a regular flex KBS Hi Rev 2.0 shaft this past winter. I love the feel around the green, but whenever I need to step on it, it either balloons and falls short of target, or I hit a little sweeping draw/hook left of target. It's killing me on my home course because I need a club that fills the 80-110 yard gap that I can trust. My C300 gap wedge is too much club for that distance, but the 54 with the Hi Rev just isn't giving me the consistency I need to put my GIRs close to the hole. 

The 610 is supposedly KBS' most stout wedge shaft with a less active tip, good for hop and stops which I love to play assuming my lie is good. I will still keep the Hi Rev 2.0 in my lob wedge. The feel is great on less-than-full shots, but I just can't hit a full swing that I like with it.

I think it’s a typo, but a Vending machine could work in the garage too.

Hello, my name is Stuart and I'm a shaftoholic..

Bought this black beauty from Golfworks for a very budget-friendly $60. This is the 2019 UST V2 Black. 6f4. Bought it to replace an Elements chrome 6f4. Hoping to turn the spin down a hair and the flight.

Used for 1 round so far and the results were very promising!

Both shafts have similar upgraded Recoil tech but with slightly different bend profiles. I'll post a review soon and a comparison between it and the Elements chrome.

Waiting for the new Glides to come out, but since I was farting around with that Spider X on Saturday I can't stop thinking about it. Also some 919 Forged are calling my body like R. Kelly.
