Scratched a 8 month long itch. 
 

Beautiful irons! I bet that was a fun itch to scratch. If I hadn't gone with the Cobra One Length to upgrade my irons I probably would have gone Mizuno.

I like the Cally ball with that putter too!   I have a two ball and it feels sweet off the face

KBS C-Taper Lite.  The first test comes tomorrow.  I'll certainly let you know how it goes.

I I had emailed my self the specs after a fitting at the PGA Show.  I would open that email every so often and contemplate hitting forward to my rep.  

So I finally did!!

Went out on one of the holes today while the course was closed.   Hit probably 25 or 30 shots from 80 yards (gw) out to (150 6 iron) and hit them much better than yesterday.  

Still a couple wonky swings mixed in.   But at least I know the ability to hit them solid at least 80% of the time is there.   Just hope those other 2 out of 10 don't hurt me too much

No doubt! I bought so much on layaway! That's so funny because my kids (25 and younger) have ZERO point of reference but you are right! There are verifyable benefits to delayed gratification from a psychological perspective - now how that relates to golf I have no idea

Well I am sorta modern for now I do have a 12 year old set of 1 piece forged KZG cavity backs in the bag. And gasp believe it or not I have a Mizuno T-10 56* Sw in the bag and gasp again it is conforming. But then my naughty boy reputation for playing non conforming clubs takes back over. I have one ugly a$$ed Ping Zing 60* LW in the bag. Found it on one of the piles at work liked the way it sat and the sole grind. But then again the KZG irons are non conforming too. Btw found the T-10 at work and it was pristine so I got it. But trust me I still play vintage golf too with the old Macs and persimmon woods. In fact lately I have been playing more vintage golf than regular golf

I’m in the middle of a home improvement project installing a new decomposed granite patio so I know I won’t be swinging a club for the next few weeks as I’ve been shoveling gravel for hours each day. I figured it was the perfect time to send my beloved ISI’s back to Ping for a refinish. I’m getting them refinished in Ping’s “Guyson” finish which is a shot peen finish that was originally offered on the Ping i3 irons. They should be arriving back to me right when I’m finishing my project so it will be a nice little reward.

 

I’ve seen pics of others that had their ISI’s refinished in the Guyson finish and they look better than new. Can’t wait to get mine back.

... As some of you know I am a very healthy eater so that means all organic when possible and pretty much no sugar. Deserts are rare. When I was in Phoenix one of my cheats was Strauss Family Farms Organic Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. Unreal tasting guilt free ice cream and maybe the best I have ever had. Back home in Chicago no such option exists, but we do have some grass fed Kalona whole milk/heavy cream that is low temperature vat pasteurized. So I bought a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker and tried my first batch about  2 weeks ago. I followed the recipe although I cut back just a little on the Organic Cane Sugar but it was still way tooooooo sweet. Made my second batch today and I cut the recipe for sugar in half and it turned out perfect!

... Picked up some organic blackberries I can add with walnuts when I eat it and I am still trying to find the right chocolate chips. Really nice having a favorite cheat every now and then, especially knowing the milk/cream comes from grass fed cows and the cane sugar is organic. I picked up this Cuisinart 2 Qt Ice Cream maker for $65 after using a 20% of Bed Bath and Beyond coupon when it was already on sale:

So I've been a little naughty! (If my girlfriend asks the clubs cost a lot less )

At my home club we had a fitting day, the first time I've ever had the chance to do one - I was pretty excited.

I thought I had my heart set on the new TM P790's as they look the nuts. BUT during the fitting my golf pro got me to swing the Titleist T100 and they were phenomenal. Everything from sound to feel i loved! Spin numbers were good and dispersion was really good for me.

 

So I've bought 9-5 T100 with KBS Tour 130g x shafts to go in them.

Oh I accompanied the purchase of the irons with 4 new Vokeys too!

Hoping they will be in my hands in the next 2 weeks. I'll post pics when they arrive.

Safe to say I spoiled myself for my birthday - just need a new bag now!
