Popular Post ncwoz
Lamkin is doing a promotion for a free grip & install right now (https://www.lamkingrips.com/upgrade/), so I hit that up for my 3W. chisag
... I want to throw out an old school tip for equipment, especially new equipment. Always put a coat of wax on your graphite shafts. Especially graphite iron shafts. I do to to start every season. This serves 2 purposes: 1. The wax protects the clear coat or paint on your shaft. Scratches will be in the wax and not the clear coat. The last thing you want is a scratch turning into a nick turning into possible shaft failure. Rare for sure, but of you ride in a cart or have a push cart 2. It really helps resale value. Often a shaft that looks little scratched up over time after a coat of wax, will look almost new after washing and applying another coat of wax. ... Plenty of folks play clubs til they fall apart or just don't care about scratches or nicks or resale value so this would be over kill for them. But for something that takes so little time and protects your investment, I figure it is better to be safe than sorry. aerospace_ray, MattF, GaDawg and 5 others 8 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... chisag
1 minute ago, Rickp said: Huh, Never heard that one. ... When graphite in drivers was a new thing, some would not use hqadcovers since the head was metal with no whipping. They soon discovered that the iron heads were smacking the shaft and causing scratches, nicks and sometimes gouges if going over a big bump too fast in a cart. So waxing the shaft was a trick to protect it from getting too much damage, although there would still be some. That's about the times some discovered head covers protect shafts as much as heads!
