Can I justify / rationalize this post by saying I haven't been in this thread in a while...? 😄🤪

Callaway Big Bertha CF19 6i with Recoil ZT9 like new from Callaway Pre-Owned.

Starting to hit my 7i decently, but still not consistent enough with the 6i on-course, and then I go to a Tour Edge HL4 iron-wood .. so I have a bit of a gap in there.

Hoping this one does the trick for me!

Well I was just about to pull the trigger straight from PXG for the Lucky D putter until I noticed the 4+ week time frame. Thankfully I found a great deal on a used one that arrived today. I wasn't expecting to get the full PXG shipping experience buying second hand but I got it. I'm big on the little things OEM's do for their customers and this is by far one of the best. The putter was pretty sweet too!
I can hear my golfing buddies now. "A Proto X driver and a Gen2 putter, what a snob!" Lol

I was starring at the putter face for a few minutes and noticed something cool. The sweet spot if the face has a subtle X in the milling. IMG_20200626_195306810.jpeg.0cf2f12bc00c6edfadb20961f51862fc.jpeg

Learned somethin' today: Callaway Pre-Owned not only sells on their own site, and not only sells on eBay, but they sell on Amazon as well. So if you're looking for something on CPO, it's worth checking the other sites as well, because the prices vary considerably sometimes.

Ever since my driver fitting, I've been trying to get something similar to the Mavrik I tested without having to shell out the big bucks for a current 2020 driver. The obvious closest parallel to the Mavrik SZ was going to be the Epic Flash SZ. CPO was selling that driver with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 70 X-flex shaft in good condition for $254. The same driver from CPO on Amazon was $185.

So I snapped that up! If anyone is looking for a 10.5° Rogue SZ head in OK condition, I'll be looking to move mine.

I think you'll love the Epic Flash SZ, they're great drivers and at that price I don't blame you for picking one up. Great find!

Thank you.

One thing I might do soon is show up at Top Golf for a friendly game or two with some of my friends and bring this new bag but with older classic blades and a persimmon or two. I think you would appreciate 😀 .

Btw, I love reading your posts regarding the classic irons/persimmons in the other threads. I bet you have a nice collection.

Maybe hide the persimmons under some modern matching Ping head covers too, really throw them off.

Yes, I’ve become a classic golf aficionado in the last few years. I really love refinishing old persimmon woods and bringing them back to life.

And yes, the collection is always evolving. I have probably about 400-450 persimmon woods in the collection now, most of them boxed up and stored. I do keep a few sets out to be played regularly.

Yeah, my dad is a lefty but plays golf righty since that’s all the clubs he had. He also played hockey righty.

I’m a righty, play golf righty, play hockey lefty.

Oldest daughter is lefty, middle is righty, and the 6 year old is undecided. Playing wiffleball in the backyard she tries batting facing the pitcher, not turned to swing right or left handed.

Oh well, she’s the dancer of the family, not the athlete.
